I decided to keep my mother in The Village of Meyerland. She has been there for two years now. She is in assisted living but is being evaluated now to see if she needs to go to memory care. So overall, it has been good. There's a lot of employee turnover. That's been the biggest problem we've had in two years. The turnover has been significant. Sometimes it impacted the service and sometimes it didn't. My mother has an apartment with a main area, a kitchenette, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The dining area of the community looks fine. My mother has a very limited palate, so she is accustomed to eating in certain ways. But they serve food for the general population. In terms of activities, they post their activities with dates and times. And the staff that my mother has interacted with are very helpful and respectful. They've done a refresh of the lobby area. Some of the areas could be kept better, but mostly it's a nice facility.

I went to The Village of Meyerland. That was very informative. They showed me their private and semi-private units. They were trying to sell me a unit. But the lady that I talked to was asking questions, some that I could answer, some that I couldn't, like what was my mother's financial situation. All the rooms are unfurnished. She said they have an elevator where we can move in furniture, and I said my mom doesn't have much furniture anymore because we got rid of most of it when we sold the house. However, the lady was very pleasant. The common areas were clean. She showed me their chapel and a TV room. She showed me their PT room and their dining room. They have snacks that they put out for their residents. The place was very clean and well-kept.

Someone I knew lived there and everytime I would visit it smelled awful. I would hear the staff cussing and talking to the residents rudely. The food was horrible and the trash can in the area where you get the coffee was always overflowing. One day someone from the staff rudely asked me to move out of the dining area with my friend. Also I didn't like that the staff let my friend sit in her room sometimes all day and serve her cold food to her room. Her housekeeper was lazy and rude and management never said a word. I am so glad my friend doesn't live here anymore. It seems like management was in it just for the money which is very disappointing.

I'm at The Village of Meyerland. Everything is fine except the price. There is a lot of places that you can go to, to sit down and have a coffee or something. They have a very good activity area, an art room, and all different things. They are very clean. They are always very attractive. The room, however, is small. The very reason I picked it is because it's close to the medical center. However, they do not follow the policy. When I need help, I push a button, but it takes a long time for them to respond to some of the staff. Every day, there is activity, and it is open to anybody. They have a jewelry-making class, and yesterday I went to the art class, so every day is different. The activities are wonderful. They have music. The facility is very nice. We have a special area that we go to. We have a library, and we have a gym. This facility is wonderful. It's beautiful. It's expensive. Like, I have been charged when I was gone for three months in the hospital. It's kind of pricey.

The Village of Meyerland is a beautiful community. It looks like they have a lot of activities going on. The residents are very engaging. I have my mom with me, and they reached out to chat with her and talk about their experience there. The residents seem very happy as well. They were bowling that day, but I think they do lunches out. They have a library, game night, movie night, and lots of different things throughout the day like on their activity calendar. The dining area looked nice. The place was very well maintained. My experience with the staff was good. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful.

The Village of Meyerland was great and very personalized to my mother. There was someone higher up that took the time to see us. They took time to talk about my mother. It ended up after taking all the tours that is was one of the pricier ones. I felt like the rooms were really nice and spacious. It's a smaller community and close by to where I live. I would consider it. It seemed like they would work with me. The rooms were big and clean, and they felt like apartments. They felt like independent living (not assisted living), so I thought that was nice. Everything we saw was really nice. The amenities were good. They had large good windows, and tall ceilings. It seemed like there's a lot of little stations for adults to cook and take classes, sit outside, look out the windows, and pretend they were in an office.

I had toured The Village of Meyerland before and they were wonderful. They were very, very good and very, very nice. The rooms were just gorgeous and very beautiful, I like them. The person who showed me around there was excellent, a super guy. The place was beautiful and well laid out. They had a lot going on because there was no lockdown yet. They had a lot of activities and a lot of fun, but you did not have to partake.

I highly recommend The Village of Meyerland. It's very clean and all the staff is super friendly. When Dad was still there he liked the food a lot, which surprised us. They even have off-menu items so if you don't like your food you can order other things. His room was very spacious compared to the ones we have seen in the past. It's very clean, modern, the WiFi is very good throughout the building, and they have cable TV and stuff. They also have a very nice and modern fitness center.

The Village of Meyerland is very clean and has great staff. My mother already knew some people who live there, and it was a great choice for her. She does exercise and is in a class away from the facility, so they have a fellow there who drives her to her class. They do some kind of upscale activities like they went to the Museum of Natural Science on Wednesday of this week. I think they are very receptive to adding some activities that are not quite the normal assisted living type of activities. They have two nurses who are very good. They have open seating for meals and a fairly flexible mealtime; they have an hour and a half where they could go in and eat. They have activities after dinner; not every day but most days. It is a good place, and I like it. They use a van on Tuesdays and Thursdays for doctors' appointments. They are located very close to the Houston Medical Center.

The Village of Meyerland is a beautiful, new, very high end place although it lacked some of the diversity that I would have preferred. The staff seemed friendly and definitely the appointments were very luxurious. Their rooms were huge and it was very pretty.

The hostess in The Village was very nice, but I think the cost was a little bit too much for my mom. The food and dining facility was fantastic. I was impressed with them. They had a room for guys where they can hang out. The facility is immense, like a little hotel.

The Village of Meyerland was the first facility we visited. I would not rate this as high as the other ones I visited. They did not have that much activity. It was a little bit different. The rooms were very small. They just did not hardly have that much at all to offer. It was a nice place because it was fairly new. The dining area was OK. The residents were nice, but the staff was not as friendly as they were at the other places. I think they need to improve on their staff, their activities for the residents, and their rooms.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and share your thoughts about our community. Please be assured that we are always trying to engage our residents through scheduled programs and outings designed with their interests and capabilities in mind. We realize that our rooms are smaller than many expect. Most of our residents are downsizing, which can be a difficult transition. They do not as many items in our setting, as we provide many items and activities!

I liked the Village, but it was a high rise, and it just seemed less homey. We have seen rooms in every place we went, so we will always see the rooms. The rooms there were very nice too.

The Village of Meyerland is a brand new state-of-the-art facility, and it was the most precious place I've seen. It is very nice. It's very pleasant and personalized. People stay there for end of life, which I think is magnificent.

I think The Village is a very pretty facility because it’s brand new. The rooms are clean. The staff was friendly, but a little bit unorganized. I got that impression when I was visiting.

The Village of Meyerland is a brand new community. It's clean, not overly packed, and everybody is really nice. They have nice rooms. I have my dad in a studio, but even though it is just one room you can get a lot of stuff in there. We had dinner and the food was really good. The desserts are awesome. Dad seems to like it. And he likes all of the staff that takes care of him. Everybody I have met has been extremely nice. I think it's a wonderful community. It just seems to be the right fit for us.

I looked at several communities, but some of them hit me as being old. I just moved in to the Village of Meyerland, and the building is brand new. It's an A-1 first, class building, and I can see all of downtown Houston from my floor. This is one reason I chose it. It's beautiful in the evening. Everything is going well so far.

During our search for the perfect new home for my grandmother we stumbled upon this facility. Everything was beautiful there. It was very obvious that the outside of the facility is very loingly tended to. All of the employees that we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. They explained to us that they help their tenants with all sorts of daily activities like bathing, getting dressed, doing household chores. We saw one of the employees helping someone to get groceries out of their car. It seems like at this facility they allow their tenants to receive the help that they need while still giving them as much independence as possible. My grandmother decided to move somewhere closer to where her children live. We all live about an hour south of this facility and she wanted it to be very easy for us to swing by her place whenever we have the time. If it wasn't for that then we would have moved her into Brookdale.
