Brookdale Spring Shadows was very nice. I like the facility. All the staff members were very friendly. The facility was very clean. They showed us around and explained different things to us. I didn't see anything that I did not like. It seemed like the workers there were very pleasant. The staff showed me the list from this month, and it seems that they had a lot of activities and things for the people to do. They have a salon, some exercise equipment, and a little game room where they can shoot pool. They do painting and bingo. They have movie nights. They have a lot of good things going on.

If they enjoy a natural and rustic kind of setting, Brookdale Spring Shadows would be a really nice and low-key place. It would be a really nice place to be. The people were nice. It had a homey feel to it. The furniture was nice. The staff was very helpful and passionate about what she does. I can see that she enjoys it. They have a library. I visited a few of the rooms, which were pretty nice and comfortable. My mother has memory issues, and the way she described the staff handling her was very, very impressive.

We toured Brookdale Spring Shadows and actually placed a deposit there; however, before my mother could move in, she failed very quickly and passed. The ladies were very patient, and we had a good tour. They answered our questions well. They were positive. They explained the contract and the details; it was good. They told us things we didn't even know we should ask about. They showed us what was available and gave us two rooms to compare, so that was good. We particularly liked that they took pets. You could spend a little more, but you could have a pet. It would have been very important to my mother. They were following their COVID protocol to protect their people. It seemed clean from what we saw.

I would try to take my parents to Brookdale Spring Shadows because it was nice and secure. It's set up like a townhome type environment. Everybody that we met was friendly. The staff was friendly and open to on-the-spot questions. It was more of a residential type setting. It had real nice yard and picnic areas. It was nice to look at. They had a residential neighborhood feel. They had a big game room on the second floor of their unit. They had elevators. If you have a hard time getting around, you can use the elevators.

We toured Brookdale Spring Shadows and my mother was very interested in going to that. I liked it and the lady that showed us around was very informative. I liked the fact that the turnover of their staff was so low. It was just further away from where we live and not as convenient for me to stop in to visit. I liked the way the staff talked to my mother. She was very experienced, and she has also been there for over 15 years. The place was older than the one my mom is in right now, but it was clean. It just didn't feel as homey. Their rooms were a little bit better, and the size was a little bit bigger than the one that she went into.

Brookdale Spring Shadows was a very nice property, but the security was horrible. There was basically no security. You were either in assisted living or you were in memory care. There was no point in between. My mother has early Alzheimer's, so walking out the door would've been a problem, but the facility was lovely and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend it to anyone who didn't need to worry so much about security. They had studio apartments.

Brookdale Spring Shadows is good and nice. You have to furnish your own furniture. They have daily activities and they have a nice yard. It's beautiful.

The people are friendly at Brookdale, and the accommodations are great. The place is nice, it’s just a little bit more than I can afford. The staff was very good. They had a community room, a lunch room, and individual apartments. They did show me an activity calendar.

The person that we met at Brookdale Spring Shadows did not know all the rules and I found that not good at all because it was a total waste of our time. It was not as clean and they were kind of lax. The rooms were OK.

Mom is in assisted living at Brookdale Spring Shadows. The staff is great, the food is good, and it's close to home; I can walk over there in 10 minutes. It's nice, clean, and the people have been there for quite a while, so we're really happy with it. Mom loves it over there. It's a really good place. They have exercise classes, therapy classes, and puzzles, and they take Mom to the nursing home to see Pop three times a week. They have dancers come in and all kinds of entertainment, like movies, and they take the residents out if they want to go shopping.

People pay +/- $4000 per month to live here. The place is pretty nice, but the food they serve the residents is shameful. A soup line at the Salvation Army serves better food than this place. If you have a relative or friend who lives here, stop in unannounced for a meal sometime. You'll be shocked. There is no selection of entrees and, if they have a dietician, they should be fired and jailed. Any school cafeteria has better food than this place. It's pathetic and disgusting.

Brookdale Spring Shadows was the community that my mom liked the most. I was concerned about maintenance because the property was older than others we've seen. We ran into a resident that was complaining about her water pipes being loud in her apartment. So my concern about that facility is if they have good maintenance people and how old the plumbing is. The size of the rooms is fine, but they have a bit smaller floor plan. I thought that they would meet the needs of my mother. She likes the facility because it is smaller. The person that ran the tour was very kind, considerate, and very professional. She was very patient with my mom, and I thought she was a nice person.

The staff seemed OK. We were just there for a visit, so the reality will be when my mom gets there, and the day-to-day kind of thing. The room was good-sized. It seemed to be kept well. They had some group activities and things. We were there early in the morning. It was difficult to see any interaction. We chose it because it’s located between our family and my sister-in-law.

The Hampton was more multiple-level floors, apartment kind of style building. It was nice, it seemed pretty clean and I did like the location. They seemed very pleasant there, but it seemed a lot more populated and not as closely knit as I would like. The rooms were nice as well. I didn't see anything where it would be not good. The staff was good and everyone was professional. It really just didn't work for me preference-wise at that time.

The buildings of Hampton were a little older, but the grounds are well kept. The person that I dealt with was very nice. The staff seemed very caring people over there.

Hampton looks like a great place. The staff, especially Stephanie, was extremely helpful. From what I understand, they have a lot of activities. The place was very much well-kept and well maintained.

The person who showed us around Hampton Spring Shadows was very nice, so does the one apartment that was available. But it was like one of the larger ones, kind of like their Cadillac. I didn't see anything smaller. It was okay and the place was nice.

Upon first visiting, I was impressed by the grounds and quality of the facilities. Most places in Houston are rather dirty (it being a big city and all) and so throughout my search, I have been immediately wary of any place I visited. The staff greeted me cordially and invited me to tour the grounds. Besides being clean, the furniture and other physical amenities looked up-to-date and well-kept. The staff kindly took the time to outline what sort of place Spring Shadows was and what my mother could expect if she lived here. I was impressed by their organization and seemingly quality of care. The other seniors present seemed contented and relaxed and were even friendly enough to speak with me as I was given the tour. Spring Shadows had a number of activities planned for the seniors and genuinely wanted to give the people living there a life much like they had in the outside world. The grounds were beautiful as well. Additionally, the quality of food served here was high and looked to not just be microwaved processed food out of a can. this is one of the best places I visited.

The facilities are all kept very clean, and the staff are quite professional. There are numerous and varied activities daily, and the food is of high quality and of balanced nutritional value. There are three separate buildings to the facility, with two being standard care and the third being for those with advanced dementia or Alzheimer's. There is specialized care for Alzheimer's at the facility, as well, which is excellent. For those who don't require that level of care, there are frequent trips out to shop or simply be out in the world, which certainly helps, as no one likes to be cooped up in the same building without recourse. The rooms are reasonably sized with most being a bit larger than a standard hotel room, and some being quite a bit larger than that.
