My dad moved to Valley View Senior Living. We chose a semi-private room which means it's very affordable. The staff is very friendly, kind and caring. The environment seemed very welcoming and somewhere you would want your loved one to be. He's very happy with the food and the options.

Valley View Senior Living had a very peaceful environment and everything looked very nice. They seemed to have a high number of staff relative to the number of residents. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very nice, very friendly, and straightforward. She was willing to answer all questions I had, and she seemed to understand what my predicament was. They had different entertainment activities and exercise sessions.

We went to look at Valley View Senior Living. I thought it was great. It was an apartment, and it wasn't just a room. The apartment that I saw was not the same as all the others, but this particular one was on the first floor. It had a back door that opened up to a little patio in the back. They offered all the same amenities as in assisted care, except for the button that one would wear around the neck. There's a dining area, so if you didn't want to cook, you didn't have to. They have a bus that is shared between the two areas. They have a monthly schedule that they put out. They also have an exercise class and lots of bingo. The meals are included.

Valley View Senior Living was very nice. The lady that interviewed us was Cori, and she was just very lovely. She took us on a tour all through the facility. They had lovely grounds, where we saw some people out sitting and reading. They had a huge entryway and a big solarium, where people were sitting and reading, too. They took us into the dining room, and it was a spacious room. Everybody was invited to eat all three meals there. It was marvelous. They showed us one apartment, and it was just stark. No furniture yet, but it was very clean. Everything was new, and they also were painted. There were new drapes, new carpeting, a brand new refrigerator, and a little microwave. The common areas were very nice.

We're planning to move my dad to Valley View Senior Living. The two staff members that I spoke to and the half a dozen others I saw were polite. They were calm and polite, and they moved slowly which is a good thing. The facilities were well-maintained, and the smell was relatively low. Many of these places reek of Clorox, vinegar, or urine, but this place was scrubbed clean and I saw people cleaning. I will refer to it as a four out of five on cleanliness. Their rooms were standard hotel room size and it does have a bathroom. They had four events planned daily, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. After breakfast, they do two things and they only switch it up a bit because they're big on patterns. They always do the same thing, but not exactly. Today, it's arts and crafts, but that could be building photo albums or making Christmas decorations, but they had a system for what they were doing. I'm welcome in two weeks to come any time and eat with them. They're not at capacity, they hold 25-30 and the dining room would seat twice that many or more. The grounds outside could be full with all 30 people and caretakers out there, but it could be done. There were built-in tables with cement pillars and huge canopy over them, and there were three of them, and they could sit around 8-10 people each. There are trees outside and they can walk around.

The reason why I have chosen Valley View Senior Living for my father was that they provide the medical support that he needs in his condition. From what I met, everybody seems very nice, very friendly, and very attentive as I was there. They have a salon/ barber shop, they have a theater or media room, and they have arts and crafts.

We liked Valley View Senior Living very much. We were inquiring about both assisted living and memory care. It was a beautiful place. They've got everything covered as far as being able to care for my mother-in-law. It would be a great place for her to go. The staff during the visit was very nice, very knowledgeable and showed us everything. The dining area was very nice, very clean, and very organized. The nursing facility seemed to be on top of everything they were doing. They've got a social room. I would give it a better rating than anyone else in Harlingen.

Valley View Senior Living is a great place and it's super clean. My mom will have two rooms: a little living room and a bedroom. The staff is off the charts, from the top down to the maintenance man. They're really friendly, good, and they all look like they want to help. The activities director has a bubbly personality and they put activities up for the entire month. If you want to take advantage of the activities, you can, and if you don't, then you don't. The residents living there are very friendly.

I went to Valley View Senior Living. I was there for lunch, and they had Chinese food. The rooms were pretty nice, and very big. They had a little patio that looked very nice. I liked that it was near to a hospital, and they take you shopping if you need to go. You get invited every 3rd Thursday of the month to some activity going on. I enlisted for last month and I'd like to go back this month. The staff was very nice, friendly, and told me to come back.

Valley View Senior Living was excellent, readily accessible to my current medical needs, and near my doctors. It's a relatively small community, which I like. The staff was outstanding. There were five options for rooms.

I couldn’t be happier with Canterbury Campus Community (Brookdale Harlingen). The staff is terrific. They make my life really easy to the point where they got me a parking space closer to the door so that I would not have to walk far. They also hooked up my DVD player so that I can use it. I’ve known some residents for 40 years. There’s a little convenience store for tenants. The building I’m in is six stories and has 197 apartments. The one across the street is five stories and has 180 apartments.

The people at Brookdale Harlingen were good; the atmosphere from friendliness and conversation was good. The only comment I’ve had is the carpet in the downstairs lobby was dirty and felt old and stained. From the outside, I think it was fairly clean; they scrubbed the windows and manicured the yard.

Dad was at Canterbury Court. Pretty much all of the staff were wonderful. There were just a couple of little incidents, but they didn't cause my dad any grief at all. It was actually a very nice community. The dining area was very well-kept, and they had exercise activities, crafts, Bingo, and just different things that the residents could get involved in. It was nice. I would definitely recommend it. I think it was great. I said to my dad before he died, "Hopefully, they will put me here when I get to this point."

Canterbury court is convenient because we live in Harlingen. It’s a pretty decent facility. The rooms are large. I got a one-bedroom, it's carpeted, and you get to control your own heat. The staff here are pretty decent and very good people. I have no complaints. For the food, there are good days and bad days, but the food is pretty decent. It’s probably the most affordable place around right now, and I like it fine.

Last week we admitted our seventy-eight year old aunt Mary into the Canterbury Court Assisted Living facility in Harlingen, Texas. Aunt Mary has recently undergone a quadruple coronary artery bypass operation and she could not care for herself so admitting her into this living center was our best option. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Canterbury. The facility appears to be brand new or recently remodeled. When we walked inside, we immediately noticed the soft naturist music playing over the sound system which is throughout the whole facility. The floors were shiny, the walls were clean and we were surprised to see that there were two nurses stations. My Aunt Mary's room was spacious with a walk-in closet, bathroom, and a small private sitting area overlooking a part of the garden. Another surprise was when we saw that the facility was equipped with Wi-Fi accessibility for all residents. The staff was very professional and Emily, the nurse assistant that attended to our aunt was very friendly and professional. Emily gave us a couple of brochures and explained in detail what my aunt could look forward to as a resident of Canterbury. As we were leaving, we felt very comfortable with our decision and as an added bonus we noticed two security guards patrolling the perimeter. My aunt will be at Canterbury for 30 days and then we will see how her therapy is progressing to determine whether she will go home or stay an additional period of time. I would definitely recommend this state of the art facility for any family that wants the best for a loved one.
