We are now living in Lakestone Terrace. They were very welcoming. The amenities are very nice. They provide three meals a day and they have a lot of activities. The people that live here are very, very friendly, and cordial. The appearance is not luxurious, but it's very nice. In terms of dining, they're very accommodating. Like if you're diabetic, they always have things for the diabetics set aside. For ones that are vegetarian, they set aside special meals for them that are just vegetarian-type meals. For activities, they have a lot of different card games. They have a beautiful library and they have a book club. They have beanbag baseball, and they have some type of beach volleyball. They have a really nice stretch exercise in the morning for those that want to. It is really nice and well guided. The staff are all very, very interested in you. The activity director comes around every table and asks how everyone is doing. They're very helpful. Like my husband has Parkinson's and they have a Parkinson's meeting here in the facility once a month. They brought a man that belongs to the VA that would help them with any services that they would need and that would be available through the VA. They guide them and help them to get those things, so that's very commendable.

I liked Lakestone Terrace. The staff was excellent. The chef that we spoke with was very nice, cordial, and accommodating with the things that we asked about. The facilities were very clean and kept up. They had a book review and a book signing on that day and there was a tremendous amount of people for it. They had a very busy afternoon and I thought it was very nice. Sometimes you had a lake view and that's pretty nice, too. They also had a nice exercise room and a library. It was an excellent facility. We liked them.

We've put a deposit down at Lakestone Terrace for one of the cottages. We're ready to move in whenever it becomes available. We chose it primarily because of the location, and also the amenities and the things that they offered. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, answered all questions, and seemed to be ready to help us any way that they could. The facility looked clean and friendly. There were several amenities that were nice. They had everything you could want to do.

We moved Mom to Lakestone Terrace because we liked the apartment that was available for her. She wanted a one-bedroom and to be able to have her own stackable laundry/washer-dryer, and this particular room she's in has that. It is a nice-sized single bedroom with a living room area and a little kitchen area. Plus, it has a nice-sized restroom. The view from her room was over the lake, so she has a perfect view. She wanted to be on the first floor, and she is on the first floor, too. Cost-wise, it seems like most of the facilities we looked at were similar, and all the amenities were pretty comparable. They all pretty much had the same type of amenities except for the laundry. Not everyone had that capability. I've eaten there twice and the food's been excellent. They have a good selection in every meal. The managing staff (the people at the front desk, the managers, the person that was assigned to us to help us get signed up with everything and get my mom all the paperwork done, and the head of the cook) have been outstanding and I'd give them all a five rating. However when it comes to the maintenance personnel, I would give them a three. There was some maintenance that I've repeatedly asked about getting taken care of (we're talking four or five times of a request), but it was very lacking. It got taken care of, but it was a little bit of work getting it done.

Lakestone Terrace was fantastic. The people were warm and welcoming. Judy took me on a tour and we toured everything. She was very thorough and very forthcoming about things to consider because this is new for me. She was very helpful with questions that I had and even told me things that I hadn't even thought of, that I should be considering, and that was very, very helpful. We had lunch and the food was delicious. We talked to some of the residents. They were having a little boutique sale there that day, so a lot of the women were out doing a little bit of shopping. I loved the community and the people. Everything was clean. The apartments that they have there were just exceptional. I would highly recommend it. They had their calendar posted and it looked like there was something for everybody going on every week. If they wanted to participate, those opportunities were there.

I moved into Lakestone Terrace. They take care of the needs that I have. It's a great place to live and the food is good, which is important. The staff is very good also. They're very friendly and cooperative and seem to want to please me. We have a variety of food. We always have two choices of entrees and I like it because it's cafeteria-style. If I don't want something, it's not put on my plate. I get to choose exactly what I want to eat and how much of it that I want to eat. The whole building is very clean. My apartment is great. It's a nice size. It's plenty of space for one person. They have a variety of activities on different days like bingo, exercise, poker, card playing, Pinnacle, and stuff like that. There's something every day. On holidays, they always have a special meal. They always celebrate birthdays. When I walked into this building, I knew that's where I wanted to live.

My friend is a resident at Lakestone Terrace. The facility is very nice. They have indoor rooms, or you can get a cottage. The cottages are very nice, and they have a garage, which is a wonderful feature. The people that live there rave about the food. They said the food was very good. If you live inside the big facility, you get three meals a day. If you live in the cottages, you get two free meals. But the cottage is cheaper than living inside. I liked the cottages, and that's where I would want to rent if I was going there. They have all kinds of activities. They have a workout room, a craft room, game rooms, and a beautiful dining room. They have a full kitchen. One thing I didn't like about the inside is that they didn't have a kitchen. They have a two-burner stove, but no oven and a microwave. It's so tiny, and you can't put any kind of a table or anything like that. I would not live inside.

Lakestone Terrace has different games, but a lot of people don't participate in them. They have other games as well that I have never involved in. They also have movies. Overall, it's a really nice place and the staff is very good and wonderful. The food is really good and we have a new chef and he's really good. The dining area is very nice and clean. It's an older building and it's got a lot of repairs to be done, but they're doing some of it little by little. They have an exercise room and a beauty shop, too. They also have an art room and a library.

My father-in-law has moved to Lakestone Terrace. It's wonderful and he's thriving there. The staff is personable, caring, outgoing, and dependable. It is in town and has close-by shopping, and it's by the lake, so it has a beautiful view. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The food is delicious and they offer three meals a day. They'll make whatever you want for breakfast. My father-in-law plays cards and does beanbag toss, goes on outings and to casinos, does movie nights every night, and he exercises. You get more for your money.

On the outside, Lakestone Terrace is a beautiful, plain, and nice landscaped place, and it's on the waters of Lake Granbury. They have little cottages, and the building has a two or three-story high open area where visitors can sit and talk. It's very clean, has nice furnishings, and they have a lady who greets you. They have lots of areas for people to do things and visit. They have separate rooms for men and women to gather, and it's all nicely-furnished. The men's room has a billiard table, and another room has two sewing machines, because they sew things for charities. There's also a room for art, a room for crafts, and a library. The furnishings are wonderful, nice, big, and cushy. They also have a separate room so if you have home health care they can come and see you there. There's also a really nice, big, and nicely-furnished dining room. They also have a large movie theatre and a large, beautiful chapel with a minister who comes once a week. The place is quiet, but there are a lot of people there, and I really enjoyed that they came out and introduced themselves. They seemed to be really positive about us moving in and joining them. They have a washing machine and dryer on each floor. The 1-bedroom apartments have a place for a double-stack washing machine, and a nice little balcony that looks out on the lake. They have housekeeping that comes once a week, and a bus that takes you on trips, or to the doctor. The bedroom portion is big enough for a king-sized bed, and it has two huge walk-in closets. The living room area has an opening out on the balcony, and is furnished with a sectional sofa and a chair. The place also has a dining room and a kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove. We had a light lunch there and it was good.

My mom moved into Lakestone. It's very good and all-inclusive. The staff is excellent and on top of everything. She likes the three meals a day, and they even have a bank branch in the facility, so she can continue to do some of her banking. They have a movie theater, games, and ambassadors that coach Mother and show her around. She really likes that.

Lakestone was very nice. We saw one of their apartments in the three story building, and we also saw one of their cottages -- which is independent living freestanding accommodations right on the lake. We felt that if you were living in one of those, you were very independent of the whole facility. The cottages were right on the lake, and you have a yard that goes right down. It’s lovely. We’re very familiar with Lakestone Terrace because my husband is one of the facilitators for diabetes support group that meets monthly there. Their meal program is a little bit different. It was well presented, everything looked lovely, and the portions were very adequate. They have activity rooms, craft rooms, card rooms, and game rooms. They have a lovely library, bingo, and some sort of exercise program and a separate exercise room with gym equipment in it. They are totally different in appearances and ambiance. It’s more casual and a little more relaxed. I think they’re doing a good job.

Lakestone Terrace had a 3-5-story apartment building and 17 attached cottages, but they were randomly set and not in one long row. We looked at the cottages and thought they were very nice. They would certainly meet our needs. The facility was quite good, though I thought the price was a little high. I was not interested in transportation because I had my own vehicle. It was included into the monthly rate, which was fine and very essential to some of the people there. It was just something that we were not interested in.

Lakestone Terrace was very nice if a person likes that type of thing, but I would feel too closed in. The administrative people were very nice.
