My parents are in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. They take very good care of them. The staff is very nice. The food is awesome. If they don't like what they're serving, they'll give them something else. My dad has very few teeth, so they cut up his food or whatever they need to do to make sure he can eat and he loves to eat. They are so nice to them and to me when I get up there. Maintenance and housekeeping are very good. It's always clean and the one that goes in to clean their room is awesome. She is so nice to them and does such a good job. They have an activity calendar, but I haven't observed any activity. Value for money is good. We compared prices before we moved them in and it's fine.

I'm at Courtyards at Lake Granbury. They're friendly and more than willing to help. I'm just not used to the food yet. I haven't been here that long. The facility is well kept, kept clean and well maintained. They have several activities, not that many that I participate in, but they have them available. I consider it expensive.

My mother was at Courtyards at Lake Granbury. It was very clean. The orderlies, the CNAs, and all the workers there were always very attentive, always looking after whatever my mom needed. Anytime she had a question or needed to go to an appointment or something like that, they made sure the arrangements were made to get her transported. It was just an overall enjoyable experience. I ate there a few times with them. The food appeared to be presentable. It all seemed OK. They were constantly doing upgrades when we were there, painting and putting down new flooring and stuff, so it was very nice. They had activities. They had a game day where they had the bingo and a couple other games. Almost three or four times a week, they had some type of entertainment come in there, somebody from a church or something like that that would sing or play the guitar, piano or something. There always seemed to be something going on. We looked around at a bunch of different facilities and this was, for the money, the best bargain. It was fairly inexpensive compared to a lot of the other ones that offered the same venues.

My mother is a resident of Courtyards at Lake Granbury. I was a pastor for many years and visited dozens and dozens of care facilities through the years. This particular community, the service staff is very, very helpful and responsive. The community looks and smells clean and the activities are open and available to each of the residents, but they don't force them or require them to attend them. The technicians and the nursing staff too have been responsive and very caring. They have shown my mother the utmost type of respect and also care. I'm impressed. It's my understanding in the last year they've made improvements. Since my mother has been a resident, they have repainted the dining area and they have kept the facility looking nice. Some people desire to have chandeliers and all sorts of ornamental things throughout a facility. What we need and what I look for was something that was functional, clean and bright. The lighting is bright and nice and it's clean. That for me was what we were looking for and we found it at the Courtyards. I get reports from other residents that say that they invited my mother to attend an activity with them and that she enjoyed it. There's a gentleman that comes in and plays music whether it be church or hymns or more popular types of music from the era that many of these residents lived. During the Olympics, they had an Olympic parade. They have various things that are creative and they're interesting to me. There's not been a complaint about the activities. For me personally, the meal staff is very helpful. The meals, too, are a healthy variety. I'm not expecting steak and shrimp, but what we do have there are three meals a day that are solid. I've noticed what is served is something that personally I would eat at home. My mother has responded very well to the meals being timely. The dining area is clean. There are no lingering odors or aromas that are not pleasing to the smell. I don't have a problem with it. For where we live in Granbury, it's priced well. We've looked at other communities, particularly where my mother was living down in the Houston area. The price here is much, much better than what you could find down there. We're getting good value.

My father is in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. Everyone there has been very friendly and attentive, and they all seem to sincerely care about their residents. Everyone that we've encountered has a great attitude and they seem to be happy to be there. I've only eaten there once myself, but as far as I know, my dad has enjoyed the food. They keep it very, very clean. It always smells fresh and taken care of. My dad has not attended many of them, but they have a monthly calendar of activities that's posted in the hallway. I know they offer bingo, they have musicians come and play music, and they have poker. They offer a variety of activities. For what he is paying, I am very pleased with the care that he is receiving.

I'm living at the Courtyards at Lake Granbury. I'm happy with everything they're providing. The staff all do their jobs. Some are better than others, but they all try and they all seem to care. I just have problems with the food because I'm on a special diet and a lot of times I can't eat what they fix. I'm a heart patient, so I can't have lots of salt, but sometimes they've got to fix it with salt for the other people, but they try to accommodate me. They play bingo and they do crafts and things. They pass out every morning what's on the agenda for the day. They have printed puzzles or something to color. I guess I'm getting the value for my money. I've got a very nice room and they clean it. I get meals and everything. You get what you pay for.

My husband is in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. He's in memory care. They take really good care of their patients. They're very loving, very attentive, and very patient. The food is OK. Overall, it's fairly clean, but some of the rooms are kind of dated and need to be updated. They still have carpets, so sometimes there are odors, but it's not consistent. Sometimes it's not bad. Sometimes you smell it a little bit. They have activities in assisted living and they do a little bit back in the memory care as well. They do some exercise, bingo, some outings, and some crafts. it's a good value for the money.

My mom will soon be living in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. The people were great. I've met with them several times before we made the decision. I just really enjoyed the people. They seemed very competent and really wanted to do what's best for my mom. One of the tenants, as we were there moving things in, stopped by and said the food was great and she has to walk several times a day to work the food off. They're in the process of updating it. The dining room looks like a dining room, not just like a lunchroom. I like that about it. The facilities are a little out of date, but they still look nice. They have a monthly schedule of activities that the tenants can partake in. Those were contributing factors that's why I want to take my mom to that spot. It does fit within our budget. She gets a small apartment for a pretty reasonable value. There are other places that are more expensive and other places that don't quite have what the Courtyards has.

Rooms nice. Food mediocre. Staff very caring. Corporate seems to have difficulty hiring & keeping a director & other key positions. My biggest complaint is their billing. Corporate will increase base rent and / or level of care & make it retroactive a couple of months, then deduct it from your bank account without prior notice.

My mother is in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. The overall atmosphere is very friendly. Whenever my mother has any kind of issues, they are so quick to help her. She feels very loved. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and always willing to give a hand for anything the residents need. My mother came from a different facility, and it is night and day. They are so accommodating, thoughtful and caring and we just absolutely love the staff. My mother is a chef, so she is probably a little bit pickier than the average person eating there, but she is enjoying all of the meals. She has to have low sodium and they're very accommodating. If something is a little bit too salty for her, they usually make her something else or find her something equally delicious to eat. So far, everything's been really good. My mom says they do a really great job when they come in and clean her apartment and the facility is always neat and clean. There's never anything laying around or anything like that. They have a maintenance man, and anytime my mother needs anything from him, he is really quick to respond. He doesn't make them wait or anything like that. They've been very accommodating. They have bingo, and they take them on day trips. Every Monday, they go to Wal-Mart so that the residents have a chance to do a little bit of shopping. They also do crafts and things like that. They also have a piano at the facility and my mother goes down there with her music and she plays the piano. They're very good at planning the activities. It's very good for the money because when you compare it to cities around that are larger, it's much more expensive. Even there in Granbury, there are facilities that are more expensive. For everything you're getting, it's a very good price. They have recently remodeled and updated their facilities. They've got new carpet and new flooring and all of the wood have been painted gray and white. They've really gone above and beyond in the last six months revamping the place because we actually saw the facility three years ago and it was an older facility. They've redone their courtyard. Their courtyard is beautiful. Aesthetically, the place has really improved. They've really done a lot of work to make it just beautiful for the residents.

The rooms are quite ample and clean. The staff is very loving with my mom. Recently my mom was afraid each night as she laid down for the night. One of the staff sat with her until she fell asleep to make sure she was ok. They have a good ratio of residents vs staff. They affectionately call her June Bug and I feel she is well taken care of. The food seems to be pretty good and they provide activities for them daily. They have fall detectors in each room, which has already alerted the staff when my mom has fallen. I am comfortable knowing that as my mom's dementia worsens she is being well cared for.

My father-in-law is in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. He is in the memory care. There are only about eight units and he's well taken care of there. They don't have enough help in the assisted living and I wouldn't recommend that part. The staff in the memory care is great. His room is clean enough. They have a common area.

My friend moved into Courtyards at Lake Granbury and he's happy. I love the attention. It's genuine, caring attention to their residents and they just seem to cater to their every need. It's kept so clean. It doesn't smell like a nursing home when you walk in there. They've got great community areas, and they're well-attended. People just love being there. You can tell they're happy and engaged with each other. They take them out to community events. I saw them with three residents at a monarch butterfly event. They've got people that will push them in wheelchairs and stay with the ones on walkers. They just help them to live better lives with their infirmities. The staff keeps me updated. They are attentive to my friend every day and he likes them. That's the big thing right there.

We chose Courtyards at Lake Granbury for dad because the workers seemed pleasant and happy. We also liked the appearance and the way they interacted with me when I had questions. They brought in a nurse, so she could assist me with some of my questions. I like the appearance of the facility and the way they were interacting with the different people within it. They offered me a drink, but not food. It was very clean and presentable. I think that they need to work on their outside appearance; but other than that, everything else was good. They had a courtyard. They told me they had a salon. They had a place where they meet and do some kind of exercise, but I don't know about a gym.

We were able to visit Courtyards at Lake Granbury. We saw their assisted living. There was a lot of construction going on because I think they had had water pipes break. We checked the rooms, and they were smaller too. The dining was being repaired from the water pipe break. We crossed it off of our list pretty quick. They had a beauty salon and not a whole lot of amenities. We met pretty much just the salesperson who took us around. She was very good, and I think I saw one or two other staff around. We just saw individual residents around too. We did not see any groups doing anything. We did not see any activities going on. We saw their laundry area, and it looked like a laundromat.

I moved here Aug. 1, 2019, dependent on two walkers and a cane for moving around. I now walk in my room and some in the halls independently, using a walker for support and carrying items. Am able to be active in Bingo, daily exercise, and social activities. The staff are very friendly and supportive. We have received excellent care during Covid-19, keeping us healthy and virus free.

My mom and dad spent two years together at the courtyards before he passed away. They both enjoyed all aspects of the facility. My mom stayed in assisted living for an additional eight years before being moved to memory care. She was so happy and the staff were excellent. The activities were very well rounded with cards, crafts, and entertainment. The food was excellent and we as a family ate there often with her. Her medical oversight was excellent. The staff kept me well informed at all times. I love the courtyards.

I deeply regret ever putting my mother in this place. I never received any paperwork on her care treatment plan even though I asked repeatedly. Communication is horrible. Her shower chair disappeared and was never found. How do you lose a shower chair!?! Found a prescription bottle in my mom's bathroom cabinet that did not belong to her nor are they allowed in residents' room. The director, Joanne, response when I spoke with her about it was "oh it's expired." I had home healthcare prior to putting her in this facility. I kept them for a couple of months for the transition. Even though Courtyards was being well compensated for the care of my mother they refused to work together thru the transition period with the home healthcare staff. I discussed this in a meeting with the director and it do absolutely no good. Empty promises. I wasted $350+ on cameras for my mom's room because she begin falling. I informed the director of this. Not once did anyone tell me their internet service is antiquated. Corporate was no help either. So cameras were never used. It's just a numbers game. Fill the rooms. Lynn, the marketing director paints a pretty picture. The low rating on the Staff is not for the nursing staff but the admin. I can't rate since I have no clue what kind of care she was getting. High turnover rate. They hire poor quality no skills people because they are so short staffed all the time. There were additional issues but these were the more serious issues I experienced. My next review will be on Hospice Plus which was recommended by Lynn. Another regret I have. Exercise due diligence. Research the company, not just a location.

Courtyards at Lake Granbury had an activity going on when we were there. Some people were singing to the residents as I recall. They have a library and a separate wing for memory care. The person who assisted me was very nice. In fact, she contacted me a couple of times after that in regards to my mom. She was trying to help in every way she could to get my mom placed there. They have a large dining room, and it's very nice. The staff was very friendly. I went into the memory care, and she showed me one room that was empty. It wasn't decorated or anything. The place was very clean. The residents were well taken care of.

I found a place for my mother. She is in Courtyards at Lake Granbury. They are very nice and very helpful. It is very nice. The people that are here seem to be happy and friendly. It is just like a regular home. My mother has her own little apartment. We brought in furniture and everything, so it is like a little home. They have activities. They have people that come in and sing. They have church services. I actually have not eaten the food, but it smells and looks wonderful.

We went to Courtyards at Lake Granbury. That’s where we put my mom for a week. The room was great. Everything was great. The people were great except for the administrator. They did a little bait and switch on us. We went through the whole questionnaire to let them know what my mom can do and what she can’t do. We went through the whole thing, and they said that based on all that, she won’t need memory care. It wasn’t a huge deal, and we’re able to afford it, so we put her in there. After a week, I got called back. They said they couldn’t keep her and that she needed memory care. Everything that we had ticked off on the questionnaire was still the same, and she hadn’t deteriorated to the point where she needed memory care, but we had to pay $1,000 more. So, we had to get her out.

Both my dad and my mother-in-law are residents at Courtyards at Lake Granbury. It is never one's desire to leave their own home, but both of their lives have been enhanced by their experiences in this facility. Residents can go out once a week with other residents for lunch at a variety of restaurants. There are numerous activities they can become involved in. What I am most impressed with though is the attendants who go above and beyond in their care. They are kind & sensitive, and they go out of their way to connect with the residents. Even the administrative staff will step out of their roles to have one-on-one time with residents. The office manager, who has been working extra long hours lately, took time out of her day recently to take my dad, who has Parkinson's and is confined to a wheelchair, outside in the courtyards to spend some time outside his room in pleasant conversation. This facility is my loved ones' home and the staff has become like their family. That is invaluable.
