My dad just moved to The Cottages at Chapel Creek, and so far it's been fine. It's good. The layout is like a U shape, it's very clean, and very organized. It's a nice place. We haven't visited inside yet, but from what we've seen through the windows and from speaking with the people there, it's a choice that we made. The staff that we have met has been more than helpful in every way, they've been really good. They do all kinds of puzzles, they do exercise from their chairs, they have movie days, and football days with tailgating. The condition of the community looked really good. It's a new place; it's only four years old. From what we've seen it's in good shape. I thought that the value for the money was really good.

My mother will move into The Cottages at Chapel Creek. It's just a nice facility. They let the dogs be, and they don't believe in them having to be on the leash. They're worried about it being a tripping hazard, so the dogs can kinda just hang around places with the owners. And they even have several dogs there that the owners died, and they continue taking care of the dogs and the dogs stay there with them. So that's really important to us. And they have a very nice courtyard where you can take the dogs out to do their business. The building felt more like a home than some of the places. I talked to Pam. The staff were all very nice. I have actually viewed this place six and a half years ago when my mom moved into assisted living, and then it dawned on me that she didn't need the memory help at that time. They actually remembered me from when I visited before. That was real nice. They actually have private rooms, but it got really expensive, and I can't remember if there was a private one available. They have a Jack and Jill, but none of which were available. So it'll be shared for now, and maybe a potential move into a Jack and Jill. They do have scheduled activities every day. They like people to eat in the dining room, but it's not required, and if you have somebody that just doesn't want to eat in the dining room, they can work around that. They have somebody that visits every so many weeks, they come and they visit, do the hair, and then they also have somebody that comes and visits and does the nails. So if you were to want to take advantage of those, you could get it all taken care of right there and not have to leave.

I highly recommend The Cottages at Chapel Creek for any loved one dealing with any form of dementia. My mom has been there nearly a year and it is a comfort and relief to know that she is safe, well-cared for, and has access to numerous and varied wonderful activities (light exercise, sing-a-longs, outside entertainment brought in house, crafts, etc.). The Cottages is a beautiful facility which was important to my mom (versus a more institutional feel). The food is excellent, and the staff cares about each resident and shows that in all of their interactions. The fixed price covering everything is extremely helpful in our budgeting and planning for the future. We are lucky to have found The Cottages!

The rooms at The Cottages at Chapel Creek were very colorful and very well-kept. The staff was extremely friendly. They had a calendar of activities and they had a separate calendar for the memory care unit. They had large common areas, a courtyard, and an activity room. It was very well-maintained. The food was good. The dining area on the memory side was like a family setting with a long table. The food was very tasty. It had protein, vegetables, salad, and a strawberry dessert, and it was really good. They had a resident pet they use for therapy and they talk about using music therapy. The only reason I didn't choose them was they are more expensive.

I could not be happier with the care and staff at The Cottages at Chapel Creek. My husband has Alzheimer's and became incontinent and I was no longer able to care for him at home. The staff has worked overtime with getting his issues in to a manageable frame and my husband is happy, content and calm. I was impressed with the personal interactions of the staff with myself and my husband, the "home" feeling the facility provides, and the activities provided on a daily basis. This facility offered a fixed rate, which makes my financial position easier to manage now. I am thankful and blessed to have found this care center for my husband. With the progressive services they provide as this awful disease continues to take my husband away from his family I feel his care will be managed and in partnership with me to give him the best possible care.
