I went to The Westmore Senior Living to visit my friend. The only thing I liked about that place was that they had a lot of seniors of the same age, not real young ones that are in their 50s and 60s. The staff was very helpful and the food was very good. The facility looks good and the atmosphere is very nice and cheerful. The one room that I saw was a one-bedroom and it was very small.

This facility declined substantially over the last year!!! Terrible communication of family's status or emergencies. Random billing but without reoccurring monthly itemized bill provided to POA or guardian even upon request. . No shower support personal available upon request or just no response to the request. Assisted living need to provide more assistance to my family member. Assistance is needed to sign up for and attend activities.

Communication is key. The costs have changed from month to month and you have to push to get explanations. The explanations had gaps and were not fair. She moved from one room to another after being there 8 years. They charged her $1500.00 for her old room's carpet instead of prorating the cost. They can take months or never to return emailed twists for information. What's the point of great activities if you often don't get to attend? I rarely am informed when my family member is rushed to the emergency room. There are very few additional services in assisted living. You pay almost an extra 2k a month for a smaller room and they deliver medication, they haven't always done laundry each week as paid or help clean the room. If there were hindrances to these services they should've communicated that with me, not an outside hired caregiver or a patient with declining memory. Even with POA or Guardianship, they will still talk to or try to sell to your family member before working with you, knowing memory issues exist. They tried to sell her items that cost additional $200 to $600 without discussing with me. They don't provide daily shower support or hygiene care as needed. My cousin's neighbor fell and died in the shower, yet I can't get my cousin shower support. The nursing staff are excellent. The administration though feels like a grift... services offered, but who knows what is actually provided. You already pay for all the meals but if your mobility is declining and you have someone walk down a hall with your food, whether you request it or not, you are billed $25. Three meals would be $75 a day. I had to complain to stop random delivery from happening. It's worth spending $1000 a month more to live somewhere other than here and have the information you need to look after your family. Choose a place that will communicate care plans for their residents.

I prefer The Westmore over the other community. It was more like a hotel, which I thought was nice. I thought the dining room was nice, too. I like the fact that they have a bar because my dad likes to go have a drink. However, he can't smoke on the premises. The staff was very nice. They also came out with a printed price list.

I went to visit my 94 year old grandfather yesterday, and the elevator has been out of order for a week, with no estimate offered for repairs. He lives on the third floor, and I noticed the stairwell doesn't even have security cameras in it! He struggles with mobility and has fallen in the past. He just moved in but is already talking about wanting to live somewhere else.

The Westmore was a wonderful place. Their programs and the activities coordinator were excellent. They had top-notch employees and were very helpful. It looked like independent living. You would never know the difference because it's really pretty.

My mother was a resident of The Westmore for a couple of years. The rooms were nice. It's a large community and they had residents complaining that when the food gets to them it's too cold or wouldn't be up to par. The staff was good, I never heard a complaint about any of the staff members. The place was just really big, my mother has to walk a hundred yards to get to the dining room. It's a really nice place, and posh, they had a courtyard which is nice, and it's a pretty new community. Her room there was a little bigger than the one in her current community. You come in through the hall and you'd encounter a hallway type of kitchen, then there's the bedroom and living area, she had her own bathroom, one closet, but it was big. But with the cost, it got to a point where with everything they're helping her they want to charge them. They have preachers come in and they have church services. Also if you want to go somewhere as a group, they would take you. It's a nice place, it just became too expensive for us.

My mother is now a resident of The Westmore. She is in assisted living and she is at the highest level of care. It is a beautiful community. However, our problem has been that since Mother needs such a high level of care, their response time has been very slow. Not only that, they have emergency pull cords but they don't show you that if you need an emergency transfer that it costs extra. Mother had pushed it for 20 minutes, and it was an hour and a half before they responded. Most of the staff are nice, but other than that, I really can't say too much to it. They have a doctor that comes in twice a week, so that's nice. If the resident needs to see a doctor, then they don't have to go out. There are some really nice things about it, and it is a nice place.

The Westmore is very bright, and clean, and everyone we have met with has been exceptional. The grounds are very well kept and maintained, and its location to where there are lots of things nearby, like gas, food and residential, is a very good spot. My mother-in-law will be moving to a 498-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment that's bright and very inviting, with a large kitchen area and bathroom; every room has showers, so it's very nice. They have shopping, bingo, exercise, Bible study, a chapel, and Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. Every time we are there, they have hot coffee, hot water and fresh baked cookies available throughout the facility.

I moved into Westmore last July and love it. It's very clean, very bright, and very nice. The staff is very good; there's only one I don't like who's rude to the residents. The food and the chef are excellent. I'm living in a respite room, but I'm getting ready to move to an apartment. I like the happy hour, and the movies. The residents are very nice.

I was very impressed by Westmore, I thought the food was excellent, and I thought the service was excellent. I loved the way the common rooms were furnished, and I loved the outdoor pool, but the trouble was they had a long waiting list to get in there. The staff was excellent, I met a couple of the residents, and I was very impressed with them. I liked everything about it. They had a movie room, and they had a good exercise program.
