About Lake Country Assisted Living in Fort Worth, Texas

CARE IS THE HEART OF OUR HOME...

At Lake Country Assisted Living we know the most important part of what we provide is care to residents and peace of mind for their families. Our staff is hired with careful review and consideration for their desire to work in a close setting with the elderly, the ill and those with dementia. All are selected for their competence, positive attitude and professional conduct, as well as their belief in the basic dignity of every person. Careful attention is dedicated to staff training, development, and retention.

Staff respond to resident needs for independent activity and one-on-one interaction. From the day of admission, our staff works closely with residents, families, physicians, consultants and other healthcare providers to develop, implement and routinely review each resident's care plan. Staffing patterns are set to provide the time needed for resident care, as well as to assure our home is well-maintained for the variety of circumstances that might arise. With a resident to caregiver ratio of 1:3, our caregivers have time to spend with each resident throughout the day.

    I visited this facility

Lake Country Assisted Living was nice and well kept. We were there during COVID, so it's really tough. They didn't have enough caregivers who could come in. They had people who had left for whatever reason, so they weren't taking any more clients at that time. They didn't have another person to come in, and my sister has special needs. She's a type I diabetic and very brittle, so that means her blood sugar goes really high and really low and she doesn't feel it, so she has to be checked quite often. They didn't have someone who could come in to specifically work with her. Part of the reason for that is they can't go from patient to patient because of COVID. The rooms were nice, fairly spacious, clean, neat, and decent. The staff seemed caring and nice enough. They did not have enough in-home health aides for all the patients, but part of that was due to COVID. (We didn't have the vaccine back then.) The staff was responsive, but they really couldn't help because they weren't able to. They didn't have any activities at the time, but generally they have some outings where they can take people out, and they have a bus. They had in-home health aides who come in, do laundry, and make meals, but they were limited in what they could do at the time. I don't know whether they're taking clients now because I haven't checked back with them.
