My mother-in-law moved into Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound. She is in assisted living, but when we checked out assisted living places we also made sure to look at memory care, because she'll eventually go to memory care. What I really like about Avanti's assisted living is that my mother-in-law was able to get a room with a little private patio. She loved to sit outside, so that was a game-changer there, and the people are wonderful. A staff member, I don't know what her title is, checks on us, and she's always available, and so is the nurse who's on call there. The facility is always clean. It always smells good. They have flowers out and it's very pleasant.

Huge staff turn over. I was there one week and the next I didn’t recognize anyone in the building. After talking to a few people I found out all the staff quit because of the management team in the community. The nurse doesn’t answer questions and takes a long time to get back to you. Families and residents are not her or the administrators priority

COVID was an excuse for Avanti staff to do as little work as possible. My wife was not showered or shampooed regularly and her room and bathroom were dirty. Stay away! There are better places in the area.

Avanti sells their facility as a five star facility. Their website it states it's mirrors a boutique hotel with lots of amenities. The amenities were not a huge factor in deciding on this facility. The salesperson did a great job on selling us on how well our parents would be cared for. This good be further from the truth. My parents did not receive adequate care and I moved them out within a month. This was not an easy decision but the right one. I spoke with a couple of employees which seemed overworked because of being short handed. I was advised management is not stable and they have had at 6 administrators and nurses in the past two years. When you are paying over $9500.00 per month you expect high quality care. If you are looking for your loved one to be cared for this is not the facility.

My mother has been at Avanti for approximately 5 years. There was a distinct lack of communication, returned phone calls, and simple professionalism for the families paying the bill. However, since the new executive director Byron has come on board, he is addressing communication concerns and seems to be rallying staff and building a more positive culture.

I have to give praise to Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound. My sisters and I have been trying to take care of our mother for over a year after our father passed away. But with her increasing cognitive issues, we’ve been unable to give her the proper care she needs and deserves. We looked at several assisted living places for the right care for her. We found that Avanti has the whole package: assisted living and memory care. Trying to find a place that could accommodate the needs of our mother was stressful. Avanti came through with flying colors! Their standard of care is above all others and they treat their residents like family. The best part is that if they have a staff member that doesn’t quite work with the resident assigned to them, no matter the reason, they will make the necessary staff changes to ensure everyone is happy. Thank you Avanti for making our mother a part of your family!! We have been so happy for the treatment and care my mom receives at Avanti. The staff is wonderful, and you can tell they love the residents. The food is amazing (and my mom is a picky eater). There are lots of activities for her to do and she’s never bored! I highly recommend Avanti!

I visited there many times, seen new managment about every 6 months new staff members every month the food Ive tried to see why the complains and it lacks alot even i had issues with it and im not a senior. workout room is faboulous but someone to run it hasnt exsisted since early summer Our seniors need to stay in motion and here they dont. Memory care is even worst i want to cry over the lack of attention these sweet individuals so desire. employees play around, texts and gossip .Maintence is set aside untill they want to impressive someoone. overall appearance of the facility looks nice but nothing but broken promises inside, if your looking for a place for your loved one please talk to the ones that live there for they are honest about their surrounding . especially the ones that dont socialize there is a reason. good luck

Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound's people were friendly. The staff seemed to be caring towards my husband. They seemed to care about helping me understand what dementia was really like. I especially enjoyed the nurse, Christine, as she was very helpful to me. I didn't particularly like the type of food they served to the people in memory care. It didn't seem to have a lot of thought into these people and many of them had a hard time eating. The food wasn't that appetizing to me. They watched a lot of TV and they would try to keep them entertained throughout the day by reading to them. They also painted. His room was kept clean. I just don't think a lot of the staff in the memory care unit understood how to take care of a person who was in need of the medical care my husband was in need of. The building itself was very nice, and the inside was welcoming and always clean. The outside was not very appealing to look at. I think they could do better with landscaping. A lot of the people I talked to before I put my husband in the facility didn't explain things very well.
