I visited this facility

The staff at Fairhaven Denton was very friendly. I could tell that they really cared about their residents. They took a lot of time to show me around and answered any questions that I had. I liked the facility itself, the layout, and all of the rooms that they had available. It was very clean. I really liked their location, too. It was kind of in the woods. If my grandma were to go there, she would have a really nice view from her room. They were just amazing. I really enjoyed my tour with them and they made sure that I felt comfortable.

I visited this facility

We went to Fairhaven Denton. I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Georgina showed us around and we met several members of the staff. The place is beautiful. We have not made a decision. We have just started the search, and this is only the second place that we toured. I liked the brightness and openness of the place. When we walked in, everything was just airy, bright, breezy, with lots of visiting areas, and that impressed me. There are a lot of different locations where if you have company, you can go and sit or visit with other people. The dining room was gorgeous. There are outside areas for visiting, and there is patio furniture, so that really impressed us. When you first walk into the place, that first impression is very valuable, and that's the way we felt when we first got in there. It was just very bright and open. I like all the windows with the light coming in. It's very open and very open and bright, and that's important. Even the hallways were well lit. It's just very inviting. I would love to live out there if that's what we decided that we needed to do. We're just not ready to make a decision yet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Georgina spent a lot of time with us. She introduced us to Brianna, the person in charge of medication, to one of the nurses, to the young man who does the housekeeping, and to Mason, the maintenance engineer. We met all of them, and we met another woman, too, who's an aide, and everybody was very friendly, and very accommodating. Everything was spotless. It was wonderful. We were not invited for a meal. We were shown a sample menu and it just looked wonderful. Georgina also mentioned that there is an alternate menu that's available in case you're not interested in the entrée, and it's always available. What I saw was very nice -- three balanced meals -- and that's what my husband has to have because he is diabetic. Georgina mentioned that they have a bus or a van that takes people for shopping and eating out. We met the activities director, she popped in, and met us. She was meeting with some of the residents just around a table outside under an umbrella, and she seemed very energetic. They also have a lot of games available and places to play those games. They have different card games, board games, and arts. We saw an art table, and there's a piano. My husband is a musician, and so he was interested in the piano. They have calendars up on the wall showing all the different things that are going on there. It looked to me as if the residents stayed engaged and connected, and that's important. I noticed that Georgina kept referring to it as a community, and that was nice, the way she said that. She was very helpful and very knowledgeable.

I visited this facility

Fairhaven Denton was excellent. It far exceeded my expectations. I even told the director that I would live there. It's fantastic and beautiful. It's kind of in the middle price, so it's not exorbitant. We had gone through the dining room at meal time and everything smelled and looked really nice. They have three meals a day, and there is no additional charge for room service. They have a resident check several times during the day and I think twice during the night just to make sure everybody's OK. They provide pendants for the residents in case they need assistance. They have lovely outdoor living areas and some of thos are in a larger courtyard area, while some of them were a little bit more tucked away and private. There was just any place you would want to go to gather with family, friends, or to be alone. It's awesome. There's even a terrace that's covered on the outside for walking, as well as a walking path. The rooms were very clean and very well designed with sliding doors, rather than swing out doors for space conservation. There's a floor to ceiling window in every room, which is incredible. It gives you just a beautiful view either into the courtyard or out into the more natural, wild wooded area with no street views. Everything was lovely. They have contracted physicians if you want those services and you can use their pharmacy for delivery of your medications. They provide levels of assisted care that you can select if you need anything from medication management, to all the stuff you would expect in every care facility. They have a full service salon and an activities director who has something going on for them all the time. There's a beautiful library, a couple other meeting areas, and a more bistro style dining room (that's not full because most people still want to go to the main dining room since that's where all the fun happens), a 24-hour food service that you can take advantage of, and a snack bar that's available for the residents any time they want. They have all kinds of activities like arts, book clubs, Bible studies, musicians coming in and playing, therapy ponies, physical therapy onsite, and just interesting things that are important to keep everybody active. It's a very unique place. It's owned by a small company, so the management approach is a little different. The staff was very friendly, very professional, warm, and accommodating too. They seemed to really have a heart for what they do. I don't think everybody can do what they do. They were all happy to be there and doing the jobs that they're doing.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The facility is relatively new having been TOTALLY renovated and re-opened in November of 2020 - nothing was spared and it is top notch . That being the case anyone that has been involved in assisted living will tell you the staff is what makes the difference and they are wonderful ! I have been involved with a few facilities with my Mom (lived to be 90) and now sister and this place deserves your attention. It is a cut above the rest in many areas. Wish they had opened sooner.
