I moved into Dogwood Estates. The facility is clean. The apartment is clean. I love it here. The services and the staff are excellent. They're very friendly. They treat you like you're the only one living here. They're just very nice. People come in to play the piano for us. They have bingo, painting, and card games. They have volunteers who come in with cupcakes, and we celebrate people's birthdays. The dining room is always clean and set up nicely. The people that work there are very sweet, nice, and accommodating. The food is excellent. It feels warm and homey.

I like Dogwood Estates pretty well. That was probably my second choice right now. It had a building that had six apartments in it, so it seemed like a neighborhood. The apartments were pretty nice. They only had kitchenettes because they had a dining room. They didn't have a full kitchen, but they served three meals a day. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very nice. It seemed like she was interested in showing everything that they had. She was good.

We had a good tour at Dogwood Estates. The place was beautiful. It was probably the best, the most elaborate, and better-looking establishment. It was very spacious and laid out beautifully. They had big rooms, but the closet space for 2 people was a little tight. There was no washer/dryer. They had a microwave, but they didn't allow any other electrical things in the kitchen, like frying pans or slow cookers or anything like that. It had big balconies, which was nice with greenery around. It was a beautiful establishment. It was like going into a big hotel. They had a lot of activities. They had a sheet with all the activities that they had planned for people. They had a big dining room and people seemed to be happy.

Our tour at Dogwood Estates was really good. I liked the place very much. One nice thing is that it's across the street from the theater, so as far as entertainment you can walk across the street and go to the movies. There was some nice dining there in the area too. I liked the facility. It was clean. If you needed some help, like someone to come in and help you in the shower or help you maybe with dressing, they had people in the facility. It was a separate organization, but they were located in the facility that could come and help you. There's an extra charge but there's somebody there. Particularly if you had surgery or something, that's when it would be really nice to have some extra help. They had other activities scheduled. It was a nice place. It was large, and so there was a lot of space, which helped, and I thought they were nice.

I toured Dogwood Estates in Denton. I went to see independent living. I thought they had this nice vestibule where you come in, and I think their dining room was just kind of right behind that, so that seemed pretty convenient. It was kind of a large, open space, and the living units are fine. We looked at the one-bedroom, which would be most suitable for my dad. We might have looked to the studio too, but either one would have been fine for him because he makes his own meals. I met the staff. I don't remember the names of the people there, but they were all kind of very knowledgeable. I did not doubt that he could be comfortable there.

Dogwood Estates was very nice. When you walked in, it looked like a grand hotel or something. It was like you were going on a vacation. The rooms were all decorated gorgeous. I was very impressed with it. The person that showed me around was very cordial. They were just as nice as they could be. I told them that I was not interested as anything at that time, and she said, "Well, let me go ahead show you what we have to offer." They had a nice TV room and a little library area. Upstairs they had a beauty shop. They had a great big room that had a bunch of tables in it. There was a pool table in there, and they were putting puzzles together on the other table. Their dining room looked like a nice restaurant.

I went to visit Dogwood Estates and overall the place was exceptional. That place should have all the awards on their walls as far as I am concerned. I was there for lunch and I observed and the staff were just as nice to one as they were to all. They did not go without tea, water, milk or whatever they were drinking. If a resident needed something they were right there. Nobody has to ask for anything. They made sure everyone was taken care of with a smile. They stood there and talked to them for a few moments. They didn’t just pour and walk away with a frown. That is probably where would I have chosen because it was exceptional. The atmosphere was just superb. I’ve never seen anything quite so in harmony. The staff and the residents were very friendly.

I moved to Dogwood Estates two days ago into an efficiency suite. Everything, including the food, is really good. The people are warm and caring. There's exercise, bingo, bridge, and tons of things to do. It’s a really nice place.

I would have placed my dad in Dogwood Estates had it not been for the distance. They were looking at what’s best for the residents, like when I met with the events coordinator, she was already asking Dad what he wants to do and his interests. They also catered some events during the various months toward the residents. They want to make it really great for him and make him feel comfortable and at home.

I have been to several Retirement homes in the Denton and Lewisville Area. There is no place like Dogwood. The employee's and Managers truly care about the residents. They are always there to make them smile and feel loved. They are the top rated retirement in Denton! A great place to call HOME!

I visited Dogwood Estates for my parents. The staff was so friendly. We talked to them several times, and they were so helpful. They even made a floor plan for my mother with her furniture in there because we couldn't get it to work on our computer, so one of the staff members there worked it out for us, and I thought that was just really above and beyond. They were just great. It was a wonderful facility. It was fabulous -- e.g., the dining room and the activity rooms. They got their calendars with all the things going on there. They're just a great bunch of people. They had a gym class going on while we were there and an exercise class; some people were in chairs and some people were standing. They were all doing what they could. They have bingo, cards, and even a great big library. They have a movie room, which was set up more like a living room with a bigger screen. To me, that looked more comfortable than sitting in a theater chair. My father is a veteran, and they have a Veterans Club; on a personal level, that's important for my parents. It was just a wonderful experience. Their apartments were wonderful. One of things I really like about it was that they have a separate heat and air unit in each apartment. That way, it helps cut down on germs and disease, and each person can set a temperature for what they want to be comfortable with. Also it appeared to be a very secured facility.

Dogwood Estates was very nice and clean, and the people were friendly. It had a feel of being in a grand hotel; they had a whole schedule of activities, and they had a pool table. They had one model room with a kitchenette and a bathroom. The room that we saw was small, but they had other options. The food was good. I would recommend the facility.

Dogwood Estates was almost like a nice hotel. It was so nice. The rooms were spacious. The staff was very helpful. It was really clean and upgraded. It's just that the people there were a little bit older than I wanted because I'm 55 and I don't want to be with a bunch of 80-year-olds.
