Beacon Hill is a pretty good place. I think they are doing really good work. My wife has been there almost a month now. Her room is pretty nice and pretty modern. The people are good. She stayed there some years ago, but this time with smaller population to comply with the Covid requirements. There are no activities right now because of the restrictions. Hopefully she was going for rehab; but realistically, you can only hope for some progress because she has Parkinson's. The staff was very nice. They have very good food.

Do not be taken in by, the appearence of this facility and the manicured grounds. The staff at this facility are the most unprofessional unqualified people you could ask for to take care of your loved one. The care that your loved one receives as this facility is sub standard. I even had a Dr warn me before placing my mother there. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

The place is stunning, by first look. My Dad was sent there for a 2 week physical therapy need before he was to go home because of a stroke. When he got there they got him settled in and we figured they was gonna let him rest. They didn’t do anything for 3 days, but kept him drugged up. I think he went to physical therapy 1 time. He had a catheter and he wore a diaper which wasn’t changed for 3-4 days. He never took a shower, they did one sponge bath, and shaved him. The food was horrible, no choices. They ended up kicking him out because he hit at nurse, mind you he was drugged up. They haven’t done any of the follow up things like make appointments or send home health or physical therapy. I went over and sat with him and the only people that came in the room were the people dropping off and picking up food. We are definitely disappointed.

My husband was at Beacon Hill for rehab. My first impression of the place was very nice. It was an updated and high-scale facility. The layout of the room was nice, and it was well-kept. The staff left something to be desired. There were a lot of people that said everything was somebody else's job. Nobody was following through with his outside appointments. He had a foley bag that needed to be removed, but they could only call the one urologist the hospital recommended. No one was returning calls, so he ended up septic and back in the hospital. I was doing most of his care there, like his bathing needs and his bathroom needs. If they brought his food into his room, sometimes he didn't eat it because nobody was taking care of that. If I wasn't there, they wouldn't respond to pages very fast. They didn't listen to me when I said he wasn't moving his bowels, so he ended up completely compacted. He pulled the foley bag out himself and ended up in the ER, bleeding profusely. It took them 2 hours to get a hold of me to tell me that he went to the hospital because I wasn't answering my cell phone. It didn't occur to them to call me at work. I wouldn't recommend this facility. The facility was very pretty, but the staff was not good. They have a lot of activity directors. They called me with what my husband likes and dislikes, but the rehab residents weren't really included in that. It was more for the long-term residents, so nothing ever came of it. They asked me about his music likes and snacks, but none of that ever came to be. The visiting areas were very nice. They were very comfortable with lots of opportunities. If you could wheel your relative out, you could sit and have a private meal with them, bringing in food from outside. They had a nice library. The food was good. They need to have a better hand in what their staff is doing, and they need to listen to their residents' loved ones when they're expressing a concern about their health.

Beacon Hill is BY FAR the best facility I have been associated with. The attention to the care of the residents is OVER THE TOP. The staff and management cares for each resident as if they were the only one there. Not only do they make the resident comfortable but they also treat the family with the utmost respect. I want to recommend Beacon Hill in Denison Tx to anyone looking for care for a loved one. My mom was treated like a queen...Thank You Christian and the staff at Beacon Hill. Kyle

My wife is in Beacon Hill. The visitation thing is crazy. The group up front told me to go to the North door, so I went in the North door, walked right in, and then one of the nurses said, "What are you doing here?" I said, "They told me to come to the North door, I want to visit my wife," and then they got all upset because I came in the door that I shouldn't have come in. It seemed the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing over there for a while, mainly because of this virus. We could only visit twice a week, and not on weekends. They allowed me to visit with her dogs after I got the health thing. Right now, she's in a private room, she's getting occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. It's a nice building, they have a very nice nurse's station, and they cover all the patients very well from that station.

My mother in law stayed for a short time for physical therapy. Due to her diagnosis she had an order for daily weights. During her 2 week stay they weighed her twice. Once at the end of her first week there when my daughter came in questioning her obvious increase in fluid retention and then the next day. After that they neglected to do it for a week Again Her weight fluctuation was supposed to be report d if there was a greater than 3 lb difference from her base weight. She had gained 8 lbs before they ever decided to weigh her. I would not recommend the facility to anyone.

We visited Beacon Hill Nursing Home, but we didn't like it. It seems cold and expensive, and the residents didn't seem very comfortable and happy moving about. The person who gave us the tour was very nice, informative, and well-educated regarding the place. She offered a lot of suggestions, even suggested other places to look at. The dining area was nice, but there wasn't anybody there when we visited. They had a few people making beaded necklaces, but they said that there aren't a lot of people who could do crafts. The place itself was clean, very nice, and modern. It's just not what we were looking for.

I moved my mother to Beacon Hill, it was a nice facility, and she was happy. I think she had good care, the food was much better, and the nurses were fairly good. They had a lot of activities, mother had her nails done all the time, they cut her hair, and listened to me and did what I wanted. They tried to get her active within the facility. Everybody was friendly except the lady at the front desk.
