Canyon Place Senior Living was wonderful. From the moment I walked in there, I had such a good feeling about it. It felt like you walked into a new hotel. I liked the cleanliness. The atmosphere was so wonderful. The little girl who manages the place, Patty, came up and did the whole tour with us helped me fill out the application, and let us know what we needed. I met several who lived there and they let me know what night they would play bingo. I asked around about anyone who crocheted because I like to crochet. I met a man who likes to play dominoes, and that's what I like, too. So, I met some very interesting people. It has a homey atmosphere and it feels warm when you come in. It was everything I had prayed about and I'm very devout in praying when I am making any major decisions in my life until I'm led to it. Patty helped us with everything and she is such a strong Christian. Another lady was going up to her apartment and she had a little Schnauzer and that made me feel good. She said, "We have lots of fur babies here." We had a little snack. We just had a great time. My son-in-law and daughter were with me over there. It was beautiful and I've been sending videos of the inside of my apartment to be. I got the very last ground floor apartment so I felt like that right there was a gift from God. He had answered my prayers because everything just worked out wonderfully. I couldn't have asked for better. The rooms are huge so I am going to have a huge bed.

I went to Canyon Place, but the manager was not there. I made a trip out there to fill the paperwork for a lease, but there was nobody there. Luckily for me, the maintenance guy was there. He and his wife showed me the apartment. They showed me the things that were in the process of being done, like the workout facility, the TV area, and all that kind of stuff. Also, luckily for me, they brought me home. However, I was not very happy, and I am still not very happy because there is never anybody there on the weekend. I loved the place itself. It was beautiful. But I'm not going back there to fill up paperwork. I'm not spending another $41 just to get there, and then God knows how much to get back from there. And if it hadn't been for the maintenance guy there, I wouldn't even have gotten a tour. I fell in love with Canyon Place on the spot, and I talked with quite a few of the tenants that lived there and asked them how they liked the place, and they said they loved the facility. But the management is a little flaky. Actually, all the people that I met that live there are great. I love the apartment, it's beautiful, it's completely set up. It has a washer and dryer, an icemaker, and a dishwasher, and all the amenities that make it easy to go live. But I don't necessarily care much for the management. I don't know how the appointment was set up, but she was not there. The management simply is not doing their job. They are setting it up where they have a pantry so that if you need something, you can go down to the pantry and see if they've got it. They have a refrigerator that they keep some water and juices in for the tenants, but that's about it. There's no dining room or anything like that on site. The place is very clean. It's beautiful, but they're still working on getting everything put together. The exercise room doesn't have much in it yet. They're still working on pulling it up. The one-bedroom is perfect. It's got a nice bathroom. It probably would fit a queen-sized bed. It has two closets.
