Due to Covid, I could not personally see this facility or my mom during her stay. The updates they would give me about my mom was only far and few. Getting in touch with the Charge Nurse was difficult. My mom had Dementia, and being her caretaker for many years, failed to call back to my request to a phone call to my mom. It would have been the last time I would have heard her voice. This was the most frustrating place I have ever dealt with.

Spanish Meadows was nice and clean. I just didnt see the staff being as caring as where my mom is moving to. They print out the activities for the month.

The first time I arrived at Spanish Meadows to visit my grandmother was one that I probably will not forget. Right when I had entered the building, I was greeted by so many of the workers, and they had huge smiles in their faces. Since we had never been inside the building, we asked one of the CNAs where my grandmother's room was. Instead of telling us where it was, she took us to my grandmother's room. Once we had arrived, she nicely asked if we needed anything. Obviously, we said no. Inside the room, we noticed how clean the room was. There was no sign of dust, the furniture seemed polished and the bathroom looked brand new. A few minutes after our arrival, a woman brought my grandmother her dinner, which actually looked delicious. Right after my grandmother finished her meal, she quickly came by, wiped the table, and took the tray with her. When my grandmother had to use the bathroom, we rang a little bell and someone came and quickly took stood her up, and took her to the bathroom. The workers here are very professional, and very nice. They seem like they really like their jobs.

Sunday May 6, 2012, 3:00pm, visited the facility to the south wing. I was taken back due to the noises in the hall way, of like somebody hammeriing something!! People were talking or discussing at a high tone voice! Although I was impressed by the cleanliness of that particular area I do have opinions about the noise there due to patients resting. I do hope that you will look into the matter!!

While being at Spanish Meadows, the church members and I were treated respectfully and given full support to proceed with our program. The front desk secretary was very polite and helpful and the event coordinator was very grateful that we had come to visit and encourage the residents. Our service took place in the facilities' dining room and as it progressed the room was eventually over full capacity. The caring nurses kept bringing in more and more residents so that they would have a pleasant time. At the end we shared some gifts with them, and they were so thrilled that some hid their gifts to get more. As I was leaving the place I had the opportunity to come across a woman who was celebrating her 102th birthday. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Spanish Meadows, polite nursing staff, respectful residents, clean and updated facilities. The residents looked comfortable and well taken care of. I would certainly recommend this nursing home to a loved one.
