My father has been a resident of The Waterford on Cooper (Arlington, TX) for several years - and he loves it. The staff has been a wonderful comfort to both my father and our family. They always go above and beyond. His studio room is bright with natural light, has a large bathroom, a kitchenette, plenty of storage, and is always clean. The laundry service is a great option. And he always says he is "stuffed" after every meal. The Waterford has a warm and friendly atmosphere and we are grateful we found it for him.

At The Waterford on Cooper, my loved one would have had to walk a long distance from the beginning of the property to where the available units were. They showed us the facilities where they would eat and how they do the menu weekly, so I thought that was nice. The hallways were really wide, which was good because my loved one has a walker. The activities were nice and they were things I know that she likes to do. The two units that I looked at would have been great. I think they were ergonomically correct and gave enough room to move around with a walker. Everything seemed to be pretty decent. It was not the newest place that I saw but it was well maintained and clean. The staff who gave the tour was very positive and informative. She made sure when I left there that I had gotten all the information that I needed.

The Waterford on Cooper was not very big, but my dad likes to walk a lot, and he needs a lot of room to walk. Other than that, I thought it was very nice. The people were engaged. They have a very nice eating area. It's like a first-class restaurant type area. It has round tables, and the silverware is all wrapped in real towels. The administrator lady there was very informative and very knowledgeable. She spent probably an hour with me, and she gave me a lot of insight. If walking was not an issue, I would probably choose The Waterford on Cooper. It's only an 80-unit place. It's a very small place, and the rooms were very nice. I think that would be a nice place.

I'm at The Waterford on Cooper. I'm very comfortable here. I have lived here for seven months, and I'm happy. I'm doing well. I can't think of any other place that I'd rather be. The staff is very good. When I first moved in, I thought I was having a problem financially but I talked to them and they responded and everything has worked out well and it's been very good ever since. The meals could use a little help. The service is wonderful, but the food itself could be better. The facility is very nice. The people who do the maintenance and the housekeeping are very nice and helpful. Right now, our activities director has left and there is not a new one yet. When things were running normally, we had exercises, bingo, and we watched sporting events and so forth on TV. Value for money is very good.

My husband and I live here at The Waterford on Cooper. There are always little idiosyncrasies that keep them from getting a perfect score. Some staff are very caring and attentive and others don't even know who you are. The food is a hit and miss. Sometimes they are cold, sometimes they are not. Sometimes they are appetizing to look at and sometimes they're not. Sometimes we are served what is on the menu and then sometimes we are served something totally that's not on the menu. The housekeeping is excellent. She is very good. If there's a little something that you see that she might have missed accidentally, she is Johnny-on-the-spot to come back and fix it. If she all of a sudden gets out your apartment door and realizes that she didn't clean one of the mirrors in the bathroom or something, she is really good about coming right back in and correcting what needs to be fixed. She's excellent. The gentleman who does our maintenance is the same way. He puts something on the maintenance request for him to correct or him to fix and he is very good about getting it done quite promptly. It's very well kept outside. They do the lawn every week. They make sure that the bushes are trimmed. The edges between the sidewalk and the grass and all that is trimmed. They keep it very well maintained. The last few months, we've had a different activity director and she is lackadaisical about doing activities. Sometimes she's really good and then at other times, it's not so good. I think we're overcharged. It's quite expensive for what our needs are, but we have to have it, so we bite the bullet and pay for it anyway. When we first moved in, they had two residents' assistants on each of the halls and now we're lucky to have two residents' assistants in the whole facility. It's difficult at times to get an assistant to come in and do something that needs to be done and get it done in a timely manner.

I’m happy with the care my 93 year old dad gets in the Memory Care Unit. The staff are attentive and have a good relationship with him and other residents. The staff play games, watch TV and listen to music to stimulate residents. The staff also responsive and communicate often with my sister and me.

Hi there, I wanted to inform the powers at be of our experience with the Waterford. My grandmother was moved from another facility to Waterford almost two years ago. From the very first meeting, my family was comforted by the memory care staff at Waterford. Sharon has gone above and beyond her normal duties to ensure that not only is my grandmother cared for in a way that we would care for her, but that as a family, we are supported during this last stage of my grandmothers life. My mother is my grandmothers main caretaker outside of the facility and often needs to go out of town for weeks at a time, and my mother has felt confident in the staffs ability to convey any concerns and ensure that my grandmother is taken care of. The level of care from physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in my grandmothers, as well as my mother's life, has been a game changer for my mother's ability to continue with her life, while ensuring that my grandmother is safe. I would absolutely recommend anyone to Waterford if they had family that needed care and support for a family member.

Waterford is an excellent choice for your Family member. It is a very quaint place and they have long term staff. I have noticed there is very little turnover, the staff seems very happy to work at Waterford. The staff at Waterford and especially in Memory Care treat my Mom with such respect and love. My mom is encouraged to participate in activities. Mom’s room and the facilities are always clean. Sharon the Manager of Memory Care and her staff talk to Mom and the other residents with very kind words. The med tech staff are very helpful as well. I feel so comforted knowing my Mom is safe and looked after like Family. My brothers and I made a great choice!!

The Waterford on Cooper is beautiful. They have a beautiful dining area. It looks like a five-star hotel. They have a laundry facility. They have games and they have church service. It was very clean. You could tell they cared about the residents. They do allow pets there, and they do allow cameras there so that you can put cameras in your loved one's room. It's just like they get their own little apartment, and that's where they stay. They offer memory care and type B care, so that was a plus. The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. I went on a Saturday. They were playing games when I came and did my tour. It was very well kept outside and inside. No odor or anything. It was very nice.

The staff at The Waterford on Cooper thought my dad would fit in better at their assisted living. It was bright. There were a lot of windows in the main area. It made me feel like it was a happy place. The people were warm and friendly. I liked the staff. It had a cozy home-like feeling to it. When I was there, they were about to start an exercise class. They were setting up for it, and I saw some of the residents gathering. I saw a respite room and a regular studio apartment. They were clean and nice. They were basic rooms.

My Mom is a resident at Waterford on Cooper Memory Care. All the staff lead by Sharon the director are so caring. They are very gentle with residents and treat them with respect. They use techniques that redirect challenging behaviors. We moved Mom from a previous memory care place where they were uncaring and horrible so our experience now with Waterford is very refreshing Thank you Waterford!

My Dad has been at this facility for 3 years now. The staff is super friendly and very engaging with the residents. Sharon the Mgr is amazing and bends over backwards for the residents needs. They have a full time activity Mgr now and she always has something going on for the residents. My brother visited over the weekend, said staff was very friendly and caring. We love all the staff at The Waterford because they are so good to my Dad. Susan

I'm writing to give my honest opinion of this facility in Arlington, TX. When my mother was diagnosed with dementia she was placed in the Memory Care Unit of this facility. The housing is beautiful & clean, and it's secure and the staff were very caring. Later my father's health necessitated his moving to the facility and he & my mom were then moved into the Assisted Living section. There are about 4 levels of care here, depending on the individual's needs. Both were well cared for with all their food, medications, bathing, dressing, physical therapy, toileting and overall comfort. The CNA's are all very professional and kind and some even became like family and would visit daily with us. My parents were treated well. The Management staff is also professional and had meetings with my sister and I to update and assess my folks needs as their health deteriorated. My sister & I had researched and toured many facilities in Arlington and were so disappointed to see the type of care that is given in regular nursing homes. It's atrocious. And the staff to patient ratio is horrible. And, the majority of facilities in Arlington are literally jam packed. The Waterford on Cooper though is definitely a high-end step up from those nursing homes. When looking for a place for your elderly family members I highly recommend Waterford on Cooper.

The Waterford on Cooper was a very good place. I looked at the studio type of units and one-bedroom and both were very clean. It looked like they had been completely gone over recently and repainted everything. The grounds were immaculate and very well kept. We saw groups of people (about 30 individuals) that were playing Wii bowling. Then I met several workers while we were walking around and they were all friendly. They were well prepared for a tour.

I went to The Waterford on Cooper. You could live semi-independently, but there were nursing staff and people passing meds. It was more of a medical facility, which is not what we need at this time. We just need Mom to be in a safe place where she's got some assistance if she should need it. It was very structured, and it wasn't as home-like. It was more of a nursing facility. We're simple country folk, we're from Missouri, and this was more upscale. That's not bad if that's what people are looking for. Maintenance people were walking around. The residents there were engaging and waving to them. It was a community, and it was a family, but it was more of a medical setting. It wasn't nice or warm. They have a chapel. Activities were going on, and they were serving wine. It was someone's birthday, so they were having a birthday celebration.

I toured The Waterford on Cooper. It was well-organized, really nice, and seemed to have a lot of activities that they showed, that they did on a regular basis. They seemed real nice. The staff was real nice, real informative, and knowledgeable of the questions we asked. From what we saw, the rooms seemed real roomy and the upkeep seemed nice.

The tour at Waterford on Cooper was good. The man who took us on the tour answered all of our questions, where to take us, and what we needed. So it was a good visit. The facility was very nice and the apartments were ideal. It's the perfect location, it's very close to the shopping areas. So if people wanted to get out, it's very, very convenient. Their amenities were more than adequate. It's in a top neighborhood, so it's very nice with very nice surroundings. It's well laid out. We only had an interaction with the maintenance man, he was the one who took us on a tour, and it was very good. He knew what he was talking about, he has been there for many years, so he was very knowledgeable of the place and the amenities and everything.

My Mother is a resident. Her room is updated and bright with plenty of closet space. The best part of the Waterford on Cooper is the kind, caring staff members that work with my Mom. They are friendly, make my Mom feel comfortable and even listen to her many intriguing life stories! A must for my Mom who enjoys socializing.

The Waterford on Cooper was a very nice facility, but the location was in a very heavily traffic area, so it's not easy to get to. A lot of the staff has been there many years. I had concerns with pricing. They had different size rooms, they had studios and 1-bedroom, and they all had the same activities as the others. The 1-bedroom was really nice if you could afford it, and the studio was a decent size. They had a really pretty courtyard, too.

The Waterford on Cooper was a good place for the elderly. They have a nice dining room, and the place is accessible. The staff was very good, very cordial, explained things to me, and helped me with learning about finances. They have bible study, sing-alongs, music groups come in, and they take them out to movies and things like that.

My mother moved to The Waterford on Cooper on April. It's been great and we've been very pleased with it. The rooms are very nice and big, and they have good activities for the people. My mom loves the food and she says it's outstanding. The staff is very nice and always there when you need them. My mom's room is 400 square feet; was redone, repainted, and re-floored; and has a nice, little kitchenette. The room is large enough that we could fit her bedroom and living furniture. It also has huge closets and looks out onto a really pretty courtyard. It's very close to the dining room. The bathroom is very big and handicap accessible. They have other types of rooms and bingo, dominoes, walkathons, and crafts. The place is an older building.

The Waterford on Cooper was so pleasing to me. I felt very comfortable placing my brother in their hands; I wouldn't have had a worry in the world. They also have a memory care section which might be necessary and therefore I thought it was great that it was on the grounds. When I walked in the door, it smelled so good.

The Waterford on Cooper was very clean, warm, and felt very homey. The people seemed very nice, and it really stood out as a good community at the top of my list. The people seemed warm and friendly. It was a nice place and affordable compared to a lot of other places that we heard about. When we walked in, they had a lovely living room/sitting area with a fireplace and beautiful dining rooms and furniture. It didn’t feel so much like a hospital. They had a sitting area with a piano that people would come in to play. They had a beautiful salon and a beautiful courtyard that people could walk around in. The room was really nice with a good-sized closet and nice kitchenette area.

My sister's mother-in-law was at The Waterford on Cooper before she passed away. Everybody was friendly and nice. It was a very nice place. It was clean. They kept everything clean. I saw the room, and it was nice. The staff seemed OK, but I didn't see a lot of them when I visited. With what I saw, they seemed considerate of the people that lived there, and they took care of them.

I can only speak to the memory care unit. My mother lived there for about a year. She originally went to Waterford for assisted living but it was quickly determined that she needed more supervision. In the memory care unit, the residents are just housed. There are very few activities. The TV is on and they have pictures to color, bingo, or puzzles sitting out. If the resident is not needy, there is little interaction. My siblings and I rarely saw my mom look clean and fresh. Although they said she was bathed regularly, we couldn't see the evidence of it. When I removed her socks to trim her toenails, her feet were not clean, any time. When she had a sore on her back, no one there noticed it until it became infected and she complained to my sibling. I believe that if she had been bathed regularly, there would be no way to have missed that. We began noting that she wore the same clothes day after day. Using a marking system, we could see that the sheets on her bed were not changed every week. And finally, we found an inconsistency with her medications. When we went to the front office to address our issues, we were always given excuses, or told that we were wrong. I believe the memory care unit was an after thought and that although there are a few really nice people working there, the management of the Waterford uses their time to mask the problems they are having. I cannot speak to the regular assisted living at the Waterford. But I do know that when we voiced our concerns, the management was not willing to admit that anything was wrong or that anything needed to be changed. As a contrast, in her new residence, she is always clean, when there is an issue it is immediately addressed, and although Mom has few needs, the people there are consistently involved with her.

We had my mother at The Waterford on Cooper and we are very happy with it. She has been with the facility since February. The staff is really nice. They have some things that they could improve - they have these farm tables and sit-around tables which makes it not very conducive for playing games or for crafts. But all in all we are pretty satisfied with her being there. We felt that they are taking good care of her. The rooms are really beautiful and they have a little kitchen with a microwave. Their food is good, too.
