I would not put a family member in this facility. They do not care what happens and take no responsibility. Record keeping does not exist.

I was not happy with my stay at Hillside. After I had been there about 10 days or so I was completely missed when the meal trays were passed. The CNA would look again and no tray would be on the cart for me. The food was not all that good. The first 2-3 days I was there we had sweet peas in various forms for every lunch and supper. EVERY MEAL! They overserved this vegetable the whole time I was there for my 20 day rehab. The woman in the room next to mine would yell out when she wanted something never mind the time of day. One night she started about 10:15 and kept it up for 45 minutes before someone came to check on her. I know because I timed it and finally got fed up and put my call light on. The nurse told me she had just given her something for pain a few minutes ago but that could not have happened because it took them 45 minutes to come see about her. What were all the nurses and CNAs doing all that time. The Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, except for one OT, were very good. The one that was the exception made me feel like I was not her priority as she was all over the gym while I was doing some exercises. I would not recommend this facility to anyone! I know I will not go back.

My husband is a resident. We had a few reservations about the facility when we first arrived. Hillside Heights has a new director & he is making a tremendous difference. The attitude of the entire building is becoming positive and friendly, & he interacts with the residents! The rooms r practical, but clean. There is a wonderful activity room that provides plenty of choices for fun. I have a great relationship with the staff & also some of the residents on our hall. I have high hopes for the future so give it a try, it is improving fast.

Horrible Care! My Father-in-law was a resident for physical therapy following a fall. On his first night, he pressed the call button for assistance to use the restroom and after waiting for 30 min, he resorted to using the floor. It was an hour before someone came in. He is on morphine for his COPD, and the facility first did not order it and then ran out without reordering. The amount used did not match the amount in the bottle. He was given medication that was not on his chart. We had to change his bedding and launder his clothes, do not let the facility launder clothes, you will not get them back! When we checked, there were giant piles of dirty laundry in the laundry room. The facility is under-staffed, and the employees don't seem to care. This complaint does not the nurses and physical therapy staff, they are excellent. When we arrived one morning, there was a woman crying for help, the call light was blinking, but there was no urgency in the staff to check on the patient. The facility is new, clean, and pretty, but take your loved ones somewhere else! I suggest the Arbors.

Hillside Heights was nice enough. I think they took good care of my loved ones but probably had too few workers for too many patients like so many places do. My loved one had a bedroom to herself and a shared bathroom, but it was fine. Her room was very close to the gym. However, the people were not that friendly.

We had my elderly mom in their skilled unit and the care was deplorable. Everyone was new and no one could answer our questions. Trays were left in the rooms all day with food on them. Her oxygen got extremely low several times as they failed to put her oxygen on. It took forever to get a light answered due to the socialuzation at the nursing station. Complaints were made but we never saw nursing management or the administrator!

Hillside Heights is a new facility that looks like a hotel. However, the lady for which we were looking for a place did not like it. The people were friendly but not as competent as some of the other facilities. It is a one-level facility but has really long hallways. It was more like being in a hospital than in a permanent facility. The dining area was very nice, but it was all institutional.
