My mom was at Alexis Estates for about two-and-a-half years. They have residents who come and go, and it's for independent seniors. Mom stayed there, but she had to leave because she needed assisted living. I would rate them a "five" for the money, the presentation, the restaurant, the food, the rooms, and the activities; it covers pretty much all the bases. It's independent, but they have services in the building. She needed more care, and that's the reason we left, but that doesn't mean the facility and what they had to offer was not up to par. The staff was very conscientious and very friendly. The food presentation was great, but you're feeding a lot of people, and the chefs came and went. They offered plenty of activities, and we could see the activities happening, but she didn't participate. It's a new structure, it's very elegant and huge, and it's part of a big company. The artwork and the way it's decorated are over the top. My mom was one of the very first tenants there, and they worked with us and kept the cost down, but I don't know what it would be like for someone off the street just trying to find a new location.

I went to Alexis Estates Gracious Retirement Living, and I liked them. Everybody was gracious. Everybody was more than willing to help me make a decision. They were willing to do an unofficial hold and it was basically about two weeks. The room was beautiful. Windows were all down to one side, so there was plenty of light. I could imagine the room without the little den because the den was really small. The rooms were large. Overall, there were many windows in there that when you came in like in the big dining area, it was all bright and sunshiny. There's lots of light. There was no gloomy look to it at all. There was a little library with tables to do puzzles. They had crossword puzzles and puzzles on tables, then all the books and stuff. They had several different gaming rooms. I didn't get to the crafts room at all, but they did crafts and bingo. They had lots of activities outside of the building, more than just shopping trips. When I got there, it was Chuckwagon Week, and then it was John Wayne movies, and they had John Wayne cut-outs. They were having their Octoberfest with pumpkins and all kinds of little stuff. They had sewing, knitting, crocheting, and boardgames. They had a lot of activities outside like trips down to the square. My mother goes in spurts. She likes the quiet and she does needlework, and then on certain days, she was out and about. She has certain days she wants to go shop for her knacks, and while she wouldn't have to go shop for food when she could go get her snacks. If my mother had a problem like she needed help with her socks, there was somebody in independent living that could help her with little things. The staff who toured me was very, very informative, very caring, and very understanding about my time. In the limited amount of time I had, they were more than willing to accommodate me. If I needed to come back and do another rush visit. All I have to do was give them a call and they make certain that there would be someone who could help me when I got there. I like it a lot. They had court areas. They told me about their gardening area where some of the people could do gardening. They could do vegetable gardening and they could do flower gardening. So that was another plus for me.

I toured the Alexis Estates Gracious Retirement Living. I liked it. It was nice, but it just didn't have very much to do. They don't have the cooking facility. They have the hot plate, and I wasn't interested in that. The staff was very hospitable and very accommodating. They invited me to dinner. They came out to the house where I was staying with my daughter and son-in-law, and brought me a gift as a thank you for coming to view their facility. The facility is beautiful, and they've only been open a few months.

My mother-in-law is in Alexis Estates. The staff is wonderful across the board. Everybody from the onsite managers who live there, to the housekeeping staff, and to the staff in the dining area, everybody that we have had an opportunity to work with and get to know has been very, very good. They love the residents, and their care shows in the work that they do and provide there. It's wonderful in terms of independent living as it gives seniors just a little bit of assistance, and it's a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is looking to move from not wanting to have to maintain a yard, a house, and all of that. Housekeeping comes in once a week, they change the bed linens, and take out the trash too. They have a dining area, and there's three meals a day that are cooked, so that they don't have to cook anymore. Obviously COVID has made them tweak some of the activities, but they have an activities director who coordinates all kinds of activities, and tries to have a varied set of activities for them to do like puzzles, board games, crafts, and movies. When you have someone who has been cooking for years, they have things that they like and prepare a certain way, and my mother-in-law is one of those people, so she has certain things that she doesn't care for, but on the other side of that, if they don't want the main meal, there are alternatives available, and so I think they do a good job in trying to cater to a wide variety of tastes and different needs.

I am into my 3rd year living here. I was in an apartment for 3 years. Where the smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night and I could not get in touch with any one to take care of it. I moved to another retirement where I was unable to get internet as promised. I thought this was expensive, but no more than an apartment where you have to pay other things. One check here covers they month, 3 meals a day, internet, cleaning, activities , etc. You can stay in your room or apartment or you can get out and visit with others. My physical therapy was done right here in this building without having to leave. There is a beauty shop here. Computer and printer has a room of its on. Library, pool table, Bingo, what ever your choice of entertainment. Oh and bus service to your Doctor or Walmart. The staff is fantastic and one of my favorite things is managers on duty 24/7. I even called at 10 30 PM cause I couldn't get the lid off my Tylenol PM. You can get an alert that you can press 24/7 if you need help. It is living independently but having friends nearby and help as you need it. If you need extra medical help we have caregivers who office right here in the building. I am very happy here and think anyone would be.

Alexis Estates is amazing. It's totally new, so everything is gorgeous. The rooms are fabulous, the chef they have is very talented in making food without salt and pepper, and using other spices. The cleaning staff is great. The staff is incredible, very helpful, and very caring.
