My mother has moved into White House Healthcare. It's a long-term care facility. I go pretty much daily. They're wonderful here. They're very caring. We feel completely safe and confident leaving her here. They communicate very well. They're very on top of her healthcare and any healthcare issues she might have. She's always clean and they give her showers. She's never left dirty or in dirty breeches or anything like that. She's getting excellent care. They love their patients. The food is good. It's well-maintained and very clean. There's constant housekeeping coming through cleaning floors. They keep her linens clean and the bathrooms clean. It's very well-kept. There are all sorts of things going on. We have gone to listen to live music and they have church services and they do bingo. They keep them very active. If they want to be active, they can be active. I think it's about average for the running cost of long-term care that we've looked at and compared to.

We found a place for my parents at White House Health Care and Rehabilitation, and it's working out just fine. It’s perfect for everybody because it’s about three miles from our home and close to all the neighbors. People go see them every day. My dad went there for rehab, and they were really good to them. They are very conscientious and do a real good job. The staff is all good, from the housecleaning staff all the way up to the nurses and administration. They have some single rooms and a few double rooms. My parents are in a double room. Every room has a window and a bathroom between every two rooms. They’re just a good, clean, well-kept facility. The meals are excellent every day. They have three to five activities a day. They send out a schedule to the families and post one on their bulletin board in their rooms. They have a nail spa, ice cream socials, card games, and bingo. One guy comes in with an accordion and people come in to perform and sing for them.

My mother is in White House Healthcare right now. So far, it's been very positive. She was in rehabilitation there, and then had a stroke, so she needed long-term care because she couldn't go back home. I think the staff is going above and beyond just the normal nursing care. I know they have all kinds of social activities, like opportunities for my mom to sing in the group, which she loves. They have a beauty salon where she gets her hair done, all kinds of entertainment, and a beautiful rose garden. They also have games and parties, like Thanksgiving dinner. They make every effort to get her into a wheelchair so she can go down and participate. Sometimes they're short-staffed, but I think that's probably the case everywhere. I don't think the nursing staff is short-staffed, but sometimes the assistants and the attendants are sparse. They're a little late sometimes; if you call for something, they would come by, but they take a few minutes to get to you. The nursing home is pretty new, extremely clean, extremely well-decorated and appointed, and the furniture is really nice.
