After having double knee replacement, I needed a place to recuperate for just a few weeks after the surgery. I was hesitant about going to a nursing home, and I also felt a little awkward because I was younger than most of the residents. However, I was made to feel most welcome and was well taken care of. I was able to get all of my physical therapy done on a daily basis and rest afterwards. My family was allowed to come and encourage me, and I proceeded with my rehabilitation very quickly. In fact, I continued with Lifecare‘s physical therapy for another two weeks and was ready to be out on my own. I was walking without a walker or a cane after just four weeks! (The doctors had estimated 10 to 12 weeks with walking assistance such as a cane or walker. ). The staff was fabulous, friendly, and accommodating! I have also visited many friends there in the nursing home and assisted living areas. I would highly recommend this facility, and if any of my loved ones needed their care I would not hesitate to use them.

Lifecare has an excellent physical therapy dept. The care in the nursing home is terrible. No one is held accountable for their actions. Patients are not cared for in a proper manner. Very unsatisfied with the care offered.

The facility is very clean and has no smells. They treated my mom very well during her rehab stay. She had a knee replacement and she only had to stay 7 days and was back home and continued her therapy at their outpatient therapy. I would recommend to anyone looking for rehab.

My aunt and uncle are presently in the wonderful Life Care Center of Sparta, TN. It has assisted living, memory care, nursing home, and skilled nursing, plus occupational therapy and physical therapy under the same roof. It is wonderful, absolutely top notch and fabulous. It has the kindest people, best care, and cleanest facility. The price there is less than the community where we were before. My aunt is in the assisted living, and my uncle is soon to be in the memory care, but right now, he is in the skilled nursing center. In the assisted living, they have all kinds of things going on every day. They have all kinds of activities that they can do. They take them out twice a week to restaurants and stores in the community, and have people coming in to entertain. They have church, bingo, and all kinds of different things. The food is like a fine dining restaurant. I never thought any place for seniors would have food that nice and elegant. I’m talking high-class and yummy.

I placed my mother yesterday at Life Care Center of Sparta. So far, it has been excellent. The moving experience and tour was great. The staff is excellent. Everybody is around -- the housekeeping, nursing, and administration. Her room is good. It is bigger with more storage -- more cabinets and closets. It has a night light built in the walls. It is very roomy and clean. They have a pastry chef or a cook, and the food is excellent. It is probably not the fanciest place that I have seen, but as far as being elegantly done, it is nice. It is not the fancy stuff, but they have a nice area. It is not really big -- just right for the resident -- and they don't have a high count of residents. The activities are good. They have musicians that come in and things to keep them busy.

My experience with nursing homes has always been a pleasant experience. Al though, it was not always easy to see people placed in nursing homes, it is nice to see the people that work at these places to take care of the elderly. It is lovely to watch how much the employees at nursing homes help the unable. I have never in any of my visits to a nursing home seen a member hurt or treated badly. The atmosphere at the nursing homes was actually very cheery and not sad like you would think it would be. The technology at these facilities to help take care of the residents was above normal and seemed to help things room smoothly. In general, I think the performance of the 2 nursing homes I have visited were very well. Every family member of mine that has been placed into a nursing home has always been treated with the upmost respect. They hardly ever had a complaint.

I agree that Life Care in Sparta, Tenn.. is exceptionally clean... however... they are more about plaques on the wall and being clean rather than the health care of people... I do know first hand about this... may have something to do with the drs. but do know they will kick you out in a heartbeat...

Making the decision along with a family member to live in an assisted living facility is now an easy choice, But sometimes we have to face the facts head on and do what we have to do for the health both mental and physical of our loved one. Life Care in Sparta is a very good place. It is exceptionally clean and the staff is organized and very friendly. There are many organized activities for the residents. Visiting family members are made to feel right at home. For those not very sociable, well that's okay too. I would reccommend this facility to anyone. My grandmother was there for a short while, so I know first hand what the facility is like.
