My aunt is in a nursing home called The Palace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. They're okay, but they're not the greatest place that I know, although I don't know of too many nursing homes. The staff seems fine, the atmosphere is fine, and the place is clean. It's an older building, but it seems to be very clean. She was in one room first, but something was wrong with the heater so they moved her to another. Now she's actually in a 2-bedroom when she's supposed to be in a single room by herself. She is in that room by herself and there's no other person in there, but it has very tight quarters. She's in a wheelchair and she can't walk. Getting around in a wheelchair is not very easy there, so the room is not good enough for her. I've never been to all other nursing homes but I wasn't too happy with everything that's going on over there now. The only activity I know of is them playing bingo. They don't always go and get her to play because she has dementia and she doesn't remember what time they play. Also, she's in a wheelchair so she just can't get around. I don't know of any other activities other than bingo. I've eaten there on special occasions, so the food is always good.

The Palace seems pretty nice. It seems like it's clean. The facility seemed adequate and the staff was friendly. They have full nurses on staff and they make sure my uncle gets his medication, his meals, bathing him and such. I have not seen anything that makes me feel uncomfortable of my uncle being there so from what I've seen, they seem to know what they're doing. I haven't seen anything detrimental. The room looked fine. There's another gentleman in the room with him. The interior of the facility is a little bit older and probably needs to be painted. It is bright in there but you could just tell it's older and probably could stand to be updated a little bit.

My mother-in-law lived at The Palace for a little while after she found out she had cancer and got really sick. They were wonderful with her. The staff cared for her greatly. They did their jobs with great care and love of the patients. They would feed her if it took an hour to do so. They took the time to bathe her and anything else she needed. They cared for her like she was a family member. She stayed in one other assisted living facility that was not so good to her. So, our family knew we were was absolutely blessed to have found a place that was so good to her in her time of need.
