My mother has been a resident of Wesley Pine Ridge for two years now. Most of the apartments are nice but some of them are older and need a lot of work. For people that are handicapped such as my mother, some of the places don't have good enough handicap access and that's a real concern. Sometimes there are rules they pass out that older folks has to sign when they move in, and that they're supposed to follow, there's a lot of them that they ignore and they don't do. Some are just very nitpicky, in my opinion. Overall, living there is fine. My mom likes it, she's made friends, but again, a lot of it really need updates for seniors. The rooms are more like mini-apartments. There's a bedroom, dining and living room is all in one room and then there's a kitchen. They have variety, some of them are 2-bedroom and some are 1-bedroom apartments like my mother's. They do have an activities director but they don't as much as what other places do. We were under the impression that with the handicap van, it would be more accessible to take them to doctor's appointments when needed, but it doesn't. It takes to Walmart shopping and, as far as I know, that's about it. Maybe a trip once in a while. In the community center, they have their own where they host things. They have a treadmill, a piano, a few books and puzzles that they can play. They also have a laundry facility that the seniors have to pay to do their laundry. It's like a Laundromat. If they want cleaning done, the residents have to hire and pay for themselves.
