When I arrived at Life Care Center of Ooltewah from the hospital, I was unable to walk or do daily functions. The two different therapies I received were Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Both helped my body to recover quickly. The therapist’s trained my body how to move about safely and independently so that I can return home fully functional. Therapy in itself was pleasant. I learned a lot from them and everyone was so pleasant to work with. The staff of the facility was wonderful and helpful. My room was perfect for my needs. There are lots of activities. I actually had ice cream almost every day. I can say much more. I have made wonderful friends with my progress and I will always be thankful that I got to recuperate in this particular facility.

Husbands room looked like it never was mopped, I found some of his meds on floor several times when I visited him. He had significant weight loss while in facility. He never met the goals we asked for. We received notices of discharges 4 days out out of 5 days. Look out people, this isn't where you or you family want to be! He had one p.t. that he was happy with. Not the friendliest staff. A staff member contacted Covid while he was there. No extra precautions were taken. Promises of treatment were made but not kept. If there were any activities for residents I never saw any being held. The only pleasant thing I saw was the outdoor grounds.

Line staff well trained and effective in the day time. Some high quality people. Rooms spacious. At night, almost no support…the halls remind one of a scene out of the SHINING, complete with howling. The food is inedible, I lost 7 lbs my first two weeks there. They allow pets, including two especially aggressive black shepherds I awakened during a midnight bathroom visit. If you are going for the incarcerated experience, this is it.

My mom was in a nursing home at Life Care Center - Ooltewah. I would say that they were very professional but maybe a little understaffed. But of course, that was during COVID season. So there's a lot of protocols, and everybody is busy. With the resources they have, they did a pretty good job taking care of my mom. The facility was very fancy. They have a big cafeteria where everybody gets together and eat. They had water fountains and little walkways if somebody wanted to take a walk. It's pleasant. They have amenities for people that are staying there. They have a lot of different things for them to do in a house. It was a very nice place to stay. I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was. There was a good variety of food. It was just my mom was very traditional. She's traditional Russian food and stuff like that. There were some things that she liked, and then there were a lot of things that she didn't like. I think that was the biggest conflict. But they did a good job preparing the food and making sure she had her food on time.

My mother went to Life Care Center of Ooltewah for a few weeks just for some rehabilitation. It was very nice. They were very good staff and very helpful. I would definitely recommend that to anyone. They were very helpful to my mom. She went from the hospital there for them to help get her some mobility back and build up her strength. It's very clean. My mother was always taken care of. They were very prompt whenever she called for attention or any time I needed help. The nurse staff was very, very helpful. She said the food was really, really good. I went there almost every day and visited. They were very, very clean, and she was in good condition. I would definitely rate them very high. She had one nurse that was a little hateful, but everybody else was really, really nice (her PT, OT, and nurses). It's a fairly new facility. It didn't have an odor like some care centers do. It was very well kept. They had a calendar, where they did a couple activities several during the day. They had popcorn, movie night, and bingo night. They had quite a few things on their calendar that they did. My mom didn't participate in a lot of the activities, but she liked all of her meals. We didn't have to pay any out of pocket because it was under her Medicare benefits.

Facility is understaffed at night. It took 1 hour and 30 min to get a nurse to come into the room to fix a problem with the IV. Most of the staff is nice but seems overworked.

We love Life Care Center of Ooltewah, and my mom is in skilled care there. The staff is very nice. The amenities are beautiful. The rooms are very big and have nice spaces for the closets and drawers. They have different social activities.
