I chose Richland Place for myself because it's close to one of my children. Aside from being close one of my children, its location is very convenient for me and within my price range. I got an apartment with one bedroom. The staff were very accommodating. The facility provides not only independent living but there is an attached assisted living and nursing home. I certainly would recommend this place.

They are short staffed....they have poor to no communication skills with patient or patients family & medical power of attorney. They do not care for patients who have Medicare Aetna Advantage plans...and they lie - I was told i had to write a $4,270.00 check and they would hold until 10-14 days for Aetna appeal check written on Friday June 19 and cashed on Monday June 21st. and all they had to say was 'whoops'. Aetna insurance has verbally stated they should not have asked for any money, that was unheard of. Medical Power of Attorney for recent patient -The Health Care Center at Richland Place.

My husband was a resident of Richland Place. His room was just like a cubicle. There were 2 to a room and he didn't have a window to look out. It was just like a hole to a wall and it was kind of depressing. And he was already depressed and couldn't get out of bed. He had to wait and the staff would come to get him, shower him and take him back to bed. Other than that, he said that the food was good. He got good physical therapy there although he wouldn't participate in any of their activities. At times the staff was fine, they weren't as cordial as they could have been. I got a call from him a couple of times because he needed help and couldn't get out of bed, so I had to call them. They had bingo and things for people to do and go to like parties. Other than that they did alright. In terms of value for the money, I think that $270 a day was what it cost me and it's too high. The reason I moved him to another place was because they wanted to bring it up to $310 a day.

They had really good food at Richland. The care was good, the room was nice, clean, and well-kept. They need to encourage the patients to be more independent, and more active. However, the staff was caring.

I visited a friend who lived in Richland Place and I thought it was very good. The staff was very professional. My friend was in an apartment and their accommodation was the best. They were clean and well maintained. They had lots of activities like water exercises and they had people come in. They also had exercise room and a swimming pool. They were a very upscale place.

This is the Taj Mahal of long term care. Beautiful chandelier when you first walk in starts the momentum. Any body of "who's who" in Belle Meade (the wealthiest zip code in the state) who needs long term care, often ends up here; THIS means, a living population who knows quality when they see quality, will only accept quality, move their loved ones here when long term care is the final option. Quality care. Clean. And, can you call a nursing home elegant? Perfect location next to easy highway access and major hospitals.

We found Richland Place for my mom. It's a continuing care facility. She likes the place that's why we chose it. She has an apartment and the food is very good. Mom hasn’t been interested in activities, but I hope she will be. They have gardening for the residents although they have other things, but I am not familiar with them.

I visited my Grandmother at Richland Place in Nashville, TN and it seemed less like an assisted living facility and more like an extremely luxurious full-service apartment complex. The lobby and public areas are beautiful, There is a gorgeous grand piano downstairs, and on the day I arrived there was a concert being performed by Vanderbilt music students. I ate dinner at Richland Place several times, and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. The apartments themselves are comfortable and pretty, and the staff is welcoming and professional. Richland Place offers several levels of care, from assisted living to nursing care. They also offer transportation to the residents for shopping and cultural activities. One of the things that surprised me the most about Richland Place was how much there was for the residents to do every day. My Grandmother enjoyed wine tastings, book clubs and exercise classes. All in all I would recommend Richland Place to anyone looking for luxury retirement living.
