My parents are residents of Blakeford. I am at this time not impressed with how they are managing the construction projects. When I go to visit them, I often cannot find a parking spot because they are allowing construction vehicles to take the guest parking. Right now, there are 5 pickup trucks in the guest parking. I guess once they get your $700,000 they don't care about whether your family can come to visit.

My mother-in-law has lived at Blakeford for four years. One of the major reasons she chose it, was because the food and dining experience was excellent. She loved the food when she first moved in but since then it has steadily gone downhill to the point where she feels there are only a couple of things on the menu worth eating. My husband and I have eaten there with her many times and have first-hand experience with the poor quality. What's more, they cheapened the dinner service for about a year by having a buffet-only dinner service, which was often cold, mushy, and tasteless. They have finally resumed table service for the past couple of months after COVID restrictions lifted but now have announced the closure of the dining room for 6 months due to expansion construction for future residents. They will be serving the current residents' dinners in their rooms again--just like during COVID! My mother-in-law is extremely depressed about this. Dining with the other residents is a very important social outlet for her. She is not a picky person but she would like decent food in the dining room setting she signed up for. We feel Blakeford has put profits before its residents' well-being.

Blakeford at Green Hills was quite nice, but I did not like the location. I had lunch with them, the food was excellent, and the staff was excellent. The rooms were quite nice. It is a beautiful facility.

My father lived in Blakeford at Greenhills for a couple of years. He went from assisted living to the nursing home. The nurses were not good, but some of the techs were better. The nurses in the nursing home didnt care, and my dad ended up in the ICU. The carpet looked like it was from the '50s. They didnt upgrade anything, the floors squeaked, and they didnt do anything cheerful for the people there. I was not impressed at all. The food was not good. The staff I would give a 4, but the nurses I would rate a 1.

I can not imagine a better home for mom as she progresses with her Alzheimer's. She has lots of good, loving care and attention and a beautiful living environment. It is situated in a lovely neighborhood, safe, with lots of beautiful walking paths. The Blakeford provides stimulating activities where mom can be actively engaged. We are blessed to live close and are always welcome when we visit. It really is like home!

I know that my great grandmother absolutely LOVES the facility. There are plenty of scheduled activities that she enjoys. From what she has said, there has never been a "slow" day. There have never been any problems with staff members. They are more than happy to make sure my great grandmother's needs are met. They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone feels welcome and that the residents feel like they are at home. All of the meals have been absolutely divine. The facilities are always very clean and taken care of. The nurse techs, nurses, physicians, and any other medical personal seem to know what they're doing. Whenever I've been there, the staff is very welcoming and very helpful. Burton Court at the Blakeford is perfect for my great grandmother. She has made some friends (that are also residents) and she loves meeting them for meals. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about the Blakeford.

The Blakeford is a step above the many nursing homes I visited, when selecting a facility for my M om. She is 90 and broke her hip. The facility is clean and does not have the smell of a nursing home. The food is great and the staff attentive. My Mom has progressed to the point that she will be able to return home. This facility has an excellent PT and OT department, that I credit for Mom 's continued progress.

Our family could not have found a better place to call home for our mom. The Blakeford's caring staff are supportive, friendly, and make us all feel right at home whenever we are there. It is wonderful to see the relationships that have developed over the past few years with my mom and the staff and the residents at the Blakeford. The environment is welcoming and warm. We love it!

My mom has been a resident of the Blakeford in assisted living for almost 2 years now, since the death of her husband. The Blakeford provides a range of care and services, from independent living to skilled nursing. One of the things I love most is the location, right in the middle of Green Hills. I live in the same neighborhood and with mom next door practically we can enjoy being part of a larger community. We enjoy taking walks, seeing people out with their dogs, or feeding the geese on the lake by the Blakeford. We are close to great restaurants (but the dining room food at the Blakeford is perfectly yummy), mall, and churches. The staff are caring, supportive, and communicative. The Blakeford provides many enriched activities such as music, art, games, field trips, lectures, book readings. Mom is always busy! I love the days when I go over to visit and she says she is too busy there to go out with me. It makes me realize how comfortable she is in her environment and in her life and eases some of the guilt that as a caregiver we never quite do enough. It is nice knowing that many of mom's needs for companionship, friendships, self help care can and are shared and are met at the Blakeford. Her routines are structured, she gets support, she gets love, and we are blessed to have such a fortunate situation that we can be a part of too. The Blakeford recognizes and supports the involvement of families too so we always feel our voices are heard!
