I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm already living in an independent community called Lutheran Village. It is a village where people live by themselves, or husband and wife live together. We have five floors and there are probably 20 to 25 apartments on each floor. It is perfect. It's excellent. The grounds are gated. They are locked at 5:00 at night. You do not get in unless you have a clicker to get into the grounds or the building. You have an elevator that you go up to your apartment. I live on the third floor and I'm in a one-bedroom. The apartments are very nice and very well-kept. They have a cleaning service twice a month that comes in and cleans. We have a dining area down on the bottom floor where you can eat five days a week if you choose to. Your utilities, your cable, and your maintenance are included in your HOA, and it's nice. We have games and activities. There's always something going on. We have a van that takes you to and from grocery stores and shopping malls. It's a wonderful place. The staff is wonderful. They're caring, loving, and very attentive to your needs. The food is good.

I visited this facility

I toured The Atrium and Cottages at Lutheran Village. My uncle and I loved the place. It was very affordable. While it didn't seem to have that many activities, the people were very engaged with each other and that would have probably been the top choice. The staff was exceptionally nice and very thorough with their information. I loved the rooms; they were a great size for what my uncle needed. They have meals. It wasn't every meal that was included; it was a few dinner times during the week, which was fine with him. They had a game room, they had movie nights, and I knew they took trips to different places for outings.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Lutheran Village was very informative. I thought it was a very positive experience. The place was very clean and organized, but I have been there many times. I had friends who lived there, and I would pick them up for church, so it was not my first time. The facility was very nice, and the condos were of good size. The staff was very accommodating. He probably spent two hours showing and telling us how people can rent or purchase a condominium, what you have to do with it, and how much it costs. The administrator was patient, very friendly, and understood that I could not hear, and that's important to me -- that people can relate to you and tell you so you can understand. He took his mask off so I could read his lips, and he was very thorough with the information he was saying so I could understand it. They have a beauty shop, a library, and main appliances. I didn't see a microwave, but they had a stove, a refrigerator, and a dishwasher. You have to wash your clothes at a little laundromat that they have on each floor. I don't know if it's coin operated, but I saw one. There's also a garbage chute. Cable and Wi-Fi are provided, and I think five or six meals come with your monthly fee. They clean your apartment twice a month, too. It was very nice, and almost all the condos have a balcony, so you can see the outside.

Lutheran Village is very nice. I like it. The manager was very cordial. The amenities sounded good. They have a little bit of everything. I would give the community an A.

I visited this facility

Lutheran Village looked very nice. The person during the tour was very nice and helpful. The dining area had a salad bar. It looked clean, restaurant-style, and served you at your table. It's not a cafeteria. They had entertainment and bands play in the atrium.

I visited this facility

I visited Lutheran Village. They had cottages, and a friend of mine is on the list for a one-bedroom cottage. The staff members were excellent. They're very friendly and had all the answers to all the questions. The grounds were perfect. The area it was in was a little bit on the rough side. It wasn't the best part of Memphis. The apartments were good, very pretty, decorated nicely, clean, accommodating, and inviting. They had a lot of activities every day. I had lunch with them. It's more in my price range.

I visited this facility

Lutheran Village was very beautiful. They had transportation to doctors' appointments, for seniors who do not have their own cars. They had activities throughout the week. The staff was very friendly. I saw the menu, and what they had to offer looked very nice. They had a beauty salon and exercise place. The seniors were very friendly and involved. That would be the place I would want to go.

Mine is a one-bedroom, but they have both one and two bedrooms, and the utilities are paid for in the rent. The table is taken care of. You get six free meals a month. They have all sorts of activities like Wii bowling three times a week, and they have a Bible study on Wednesday. I have been here in Lutheran Village for about a month now. The staff has been very friendly. The dining area is clean, it is nice, and I've gotten to know people there that I never gotten to know before.

Lutheran Village is a one building facility with 124 rooms in it and a huge atrium, and then there are cottages. They cook dinner five days a week; you can eat those, you can choose to cook on your own, or you could have someone cook your food. They have a bus that takes you to the grocery store, and then it goes to the mall and to any special events going on. They charge to ride the bus if you want to or you can have your own car. It’s a nice place to live where you can rent or buy.
