My mother recieved wonderful care and was treated as if she would be treated at home, with love and tremendous care. The room was cleaned twice a day, more if needed. Physicians kept me informed and showed mom love. Nurses and Nurses aides kept me informed, loved on my self and mom. They quickly became a part of our extended family. I thank God for the care my mother recieved at this facilty. As a foot note. She came from another facility that was just the oposite.

My husband was at Nhc Healthcare, McMinnville for a while. I did not like the place at all. He was there for a week. It's a nursing facility. It's not set up just for rehab. They have an area that they call rehab, but the people only go there for maybe a half hour in the morning and maybe a half hour in the afternoon. Some of the staff were OK. It's like any place you go, some people are happy to be there and happy to be working and some people that are not. It was not for my husband. The only thing I saw was the gym other than my husband's room. The first week that he was there, he was not even on the floor where the rehab was. He was on a nursing facility floor and it was crowded. He was in a room with no TV and no telephone until he was transferred to the rehab area. He was in that room in a wheelchair the whole time. When they put him in rehab, the room was large, and it was very comfortable. He had a TV and a telephone, but he was still not being rehabbed. It was a poor choice. I decided to put him in there because I was being pressured. I would not have put him in there if I had the opportunity to choose otherwise. It's maybe five miles from a large hospital. The nursing home itself is on a busy highway. Supercenter Wal-Mart is across the street and behind them are Lowes and Applebee's. They've got a lot of fast-food places close by.

The decor is pleasant enough. Everything is clean and disinfected. I never saw any bugs crawling around or anything else that would make me question the cleaning staff. The nurses leave something to be desired. They don't actually listen and some can be quite rude. My grandmother tried to ask one nurse something and the nurse completely dismissed her concerns. Another nurse was downright hostile to me. I contemplated reporting her but didn't think it was worth the hassle, so shrugged it off. The food portions are generous. My grandmother always has more than enough. There are always games and outings to keep the residents occupied, including Bingo and field trips to the County Fair. The physical therapist is a real dear and actually cares for the patients she works with. My grandmother seems happy with her roommate, which is always a plus. I'd say, with the exception of a few unpleasant nurses, this facility is above average.

I visited this facility with my brother when my stepmom needed care after her surgery. The Director of Nursing was so rude to me. Every hall we went down smelled of urine and feces. Instead of cleaning it, nurses were spraying air freshener down the halls and in the rooms. I was absolutely disgusted!
