If I could I would give 0 stars. But do not put your loved one in this facility. The people that run this place will not tell you the truth. They try to make your loved one sound crazy. I’m glad I listened to my mother when she had told me what was going on. She was never rotated or put in her chair. They expect the Cna’s to make miracles but there is not enough of them. Don’t expect the nurses to help you either.

What I liked about them was they had more staff. At Kindred, they had the same activities, and they were higher in price, but I think that the fact that they had so much more staff to take care of the patients was a big plus for me.

Moving a loved one into a nursing home is a difficult decision to make. Everyone we consulted on the subject told us that Kindred Fairpark is the place they would want to go based on their experience. It is a small facility which means that everyone there becomes family. We were impressed by the ingenious methods and equipment used to enable residents to remain mobile so they could get themselves to meals and activities and out into the hall to socialize. The staff works very hard and would do anything for you if you ask, and the nurses were great about answering our medical questions and communicating with the doctors on our behalf. I often saw the director working late or filling in on holidays or weekends or wherever there was a need. I believe that her 'hands-on' management style set the tone for the entire facility. We were in a hospice program and we often had someone in the room with our family member during the day, but our needs and expectations were met.

Kindred Nursing was very nice and gentle to mom and to the family. As mom was in the process of dying, her room was straight across the nurses' station. She had a private room and they had the hospice team come in to make sure she was comfortable. Mom was past eating at that time. She was no longer conscious and the room was cleaned on a regular basis. The nurses came in on a regular basis to check on her and to check on us. That was me and my mom, her brother and his wife. They turned her on a very regular basis so that she would not develop bed sores. Anytime we had a concern about something and rang the bell, they came immediately and toward the end, she was breathing a lot through her mouth and it got dry and would start to bleed a whole bit. They were real good at attempting to keep that moist and showed us how to do it and toward the end, they would explain things to us about her breathing like the end is getting close and then the three of us were there when she took her last breath. I went out to get a nurse and they came in and checked her. As she had passed away, they let us stay as long as we wanted to, they did not rush us. I was pleasantly surprised at how much care they showed her.

Our experience with Kindred Fairpark was exceptional. The staff was kind and courteous to our family member as well as us. We were pleased with every aspect of care she received. The staff was never too busy to talk to us about her care. If in the future we need long term care for a family member we will certainly choose Kindred Fairpark.

My family member was a resident in Fairpark Healthcare Center for several months and had a very nice experience with them. It is a rather small facility, less than 100 residents are there, and this seems to allow the staff to give very personal care to their patients. The rooms were comfy and decorated nicely. There was only one complaint that my family member had concerning his stay there. He said that they needed to do bloodwork on him, but did not have the equipment in their lab on site that was needed for the specific test his doctor ordered. They ended up having to do a different test due to this issue, but all was well in the end.
