We were going to go with McArthur Manor because they offer higher-level care. They have different tiers of care. For anyone needing more advanced assistance, McArthur Manor was certainly going to be better, so that was our preference. The staff was very good. The salesperson was great. We had a great meeting with her. We were going to be ready to sign my father up, but he passed away just a few days before we were going to plan to transfer him over there. She did a great tour and showed us everything. The facility looked really good. I was impressed. We were excited about that opportunity should my father had needed it. It is a good option in that area. They are assisted living, but they have four levels. They even have hospice there. If you need to be fed, they can feed you. They can do medication management there, and they will assist in the bathroom and bathing if they need it. The layout was very nice. They had suites and one-bedrooms. They had a nice cafeteria area. They have an area for higher-level care nursing. They had what looked like a nursing station. They can do higher-level care there than in most assisted living places. What makes them a great option is whether you need no assistance or very minimal, like you're independent and you just need to be in a community at that age and you don't necessarily need assistance with anything, they have that and that's at the lower cost. If you need certain levels of care, they provide it. We had very limited interaction with the staff. The only person we interacted with was the salesperson, Jennifer. What I was impressed with were the group activities. They were doing games and some group activities with the people, so that was nice. They had lots of good food options. They had a menu that was prepared. The salesperson said she loves the food there because she's eaten there herself. If you're going to be a visitor and want to eat with them, it's not very expensive. If the residents didn't like what was on the menu that day, there's a certain standard menu that you could always pick from, like a burger or whatever it is that they want. If they didn't like what was for the day, they can always pick something else from a routine menu. I would describe the room as apartment level, modern, very well done, refinished, and very nice. I didn't try the food, but it looked good. It's a very good option for all kinds of levels of need. That's probably the best thing about it. It's a very well-maintained facility with great food and staff. They had a nice little koi pond.
