I visit Abundant Christian Living in Johnson City. I have two friends there who are living in a one-bedroom apartment at their independent living and they're very happy. I went to look at a two-bedroom, and they had several models available. I thought the price was reasonable too. The marketing manager was very bubbly. Every time I see her, she always asks when I'm moving in. She's very nice. Because of their name, you'd know that they're heavily into the bible. They do church and bible classes. They also have singing and crafts. They take little trips to Walmart and sometimes they go out to dinner or lunch. When I first toured the place we had lunch in the dining room, and that was excellent.

I went to Abundant Christian Living. The one-bedroom was nice. The two-bedroom wasn't laid out very well. It's too big. Or the one-bedroom was too small. That's just my opinion. No storage, no place to store anything that I can tell. They never showed me any storage area, so I was disappointed. They had good amenities. They had social areas. I think they had a library. They had a cafeteria. I didn't have any problem with the amenities. The problem is they offer you 30 meals a month. Whether you use them or not, you have to pay for them. I would cook my own breakfast and lunch. I would probably be interested in supper, but I'd like to go out once in a while, too. But you don't get any credit for not eating meals. You just pay for 30 meals a month, regardless of whether you eat them or not. There's only one lady and she answered all my questions. She was very informative, very polite, and very nice. I didn't have a problem with her at all.

We went to Abundant Christian Living. It wasn't as roomy as the others and it didn't seem as friendly. It was more hospital like when you went in. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable and very good. The upkeep was good. I didn't observe any activities. All I saw was a courtyard area. I was there in the winter, so I was told that the residents had access to the courtyard area in the middle of the facility, and in the summer they went out there a lot. It was a more sterile environment. I didn't see really anybody out of the room. It was just more like a hospital. It wasn't like a home.

I toured Abundant Christian Living. Everyone was very kind and friendly. They came up and spoke to you and introduced themselves. I like all the facilities they have over there. They've got exercise rooms, pool tables, and cards indoors. The facility is beautiful. The manager was so pleasant. She was so sweet. She's very good. She's hands-on with everybody. Everybody goes to her for everything. There is a beauty salon. There's a small church on Main Street. Then there's fine dining. They come to the table and take your order, bring it to you just like in a nice restaurant. They've got a lot of stuff set up for your family to come and visit with you.

My father-in-law moved into Abundant Christian Living. It is very nice, very clean, and well-kept. They have games and music, and they go on outings. They have a lot of social events if you want to participate. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They come by and check on him, and they have made him feel very welcome. He likes the food. They're good and tasty. His apartment is nice. He has plenty of room for what he needs. They keep it clean. He has room to do whatever he likes there, and he feels like he's at home.
