I moved to Brookdale Jackson Oaks. The room I had, was like two rooms, a bedroom, a kitchen, bathroom, and the living space is about 700 square feet. They provided a stove and microwave. The staff was very friendly, and very accommodating, and they helped you in any way they could. For the food, you get several options for each meal. For example, for breakfast, you get a fried egg or scrambled eggs and you can have toast biscuits or you get the ham. It's not just one size fits all. I think that's good, too. They have a cleaning staff that comes around every morning. They have a barbershop and a nail salon and that kind of stuff. They have that as well. They have a doctor's schedule every once in a while. If you need to see a doctor or if you have your own personal doctor and you have appointments, they take you to your appointments. They have movies that you can use and borrow. They have a library, where you can sign out books. They had crossword puzzles, they had TVs. They have a general room to watch TV. If you don't have one in your room, most people will have at least one there. They have pretty much everything you need. They have people that can set things up for you if you need something special, that kind of thing. There's a lot of personal care there as well. They have pretty much 2 or 3 activities throughout the week for the general population. If you want to take part, it's okay, if you don't want that's okay, too. They got a good price for what you're getting. So, I think the value for the money is very positive.

I toured Brookdale Jackson Oaks, and it went very well. I was very pleased. The people were amazing. The facility was clean. They have lots of activities and social gatherings for the residents. They have church services, which my dad would love to go to. They have prayer groups and worship services. I just can't say anything negative. The food looked great. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful. They have physical therapy on-site and a billiard room.

I toured Brookdale Jackson Oaks. We were very, very impressed. The staff was over-the-top friendly, just super nice. The facility was very clean. The residents were all tended to and seemed to be cared for. The residents were friendly and greeted us as well. It's a nice facility in that it has assisted living, and then a step down unit, and then the memory care unit was separate. Again, all very, very clean. The staff was phenomenal, just very nice. The memory care facility had an outdoor space. It was nice. Of course it's cold, so no one was using it right now. It did not have the usual things that they described during the warmer months, plants and things of that nature, which I anticipate will be coming soon. All the outdoor space that we saw was very well groomed. The lawn was mowed. The outdoor spaces were very well kept and nice.

We were impressed with Brookdale Jackson Oaks. It was good. We're considering it for my mother. The staff were very nice and very informative. They answered all our questions and gave us a lot of information. The rooms were nice. It's an older facility, but it was kept in good shape. They are taking care of it. We looked at the dining area and the activities area. The dining area was set up more like a restaurant, but the grounds were mostly a parking lot. It's a fairly large facility. They had some exercises going on for activities.

My father liked Brookdale Jackson Oaks. He liked the staff and the way everything was set up. He didn't mind the semi-private rooms that they have. It was a great facility. It was clean and the staff were all on their jobs. Bridgette took me on a tour and she was wonderful and nice.

We found Brookdale Jackson Oaks for my mom. Even though it's an independent living, they still check on all their residents, even in the middle of the night, if she pushes her button, somebody comes. And accessibility, the price had a little bit to do with that, the amenities they offer fit mom pretty well. It's about five minutes from my house and my sister's house. They have a lot of senior activities through exercise. They have a full-time PT staff, which she will partake in, that stays in the building. They have a Sunday afternoon church service that she will participate in and play the piano because she plays the piano. They have the senior exercise, which she has not been a part of, but she does seem interested in. They have a dining room service, three meals a day. Honestly, if you ask the residents, they say the food is good. It's very clean, it smells clean, and they had an incredibly friendly staff. We've been visiting there several times.

My mother-in-law is in Brookdale Jackson Oaks. It seemed like a nice place, appeared very clean, and kept up. The people were very kind and friendly. I sat in one meal with her, it was very nice, and I didnt eat the food, but she said it was good. The service was like a restaurant dining. They have a piano, she can play the piano, they have a recreation room they can go to, and get together as a group. The day I was there, they brought in gospel singers, and that was nice. They take them to Walmart shopping once a week, and they have outings for those who can get in the car and go. They plan things to get them out.

I didn't like Brookdale Jackson Oaks as much as the other place I visited because it was older. It was like a concrete jungle located on the corner of a busy bus and car path with businesses on all the corners. They also didn't keep up their grounds really well. Their prices were really good, but it was the location that I didn't like. I could have had a nice little apartment there outside the main building where I could park my car, and I could have planted some flowers and let my dog right out the back door. The apartment was not up-to-date, but adequate, with a kitchen, a bedroom, a dining/living room, and a back door.

My mother is a resident of Brookdale Jackson Oaks. She has a private room with a semi-private bathroom, and they were changing the carpets out. It was very nice, and the size is suitable; we were very pleased. They have activities for the residents, but she couldn't participate in them because of her condition. With what I have seen and experienced so far, the staff is very friendly and seems to be doing their job well. We have looked at the menu, and it appeared to be adequate. Ideally, we prefer to have our own private bath, but that would raise the cost. Other than that, everything seems to be adequate.

The food is horrible. Once they have your money, they treat you like a number. In the assisted living side, the aides are not CNAs and spend majority if there time at the nurses desks talking. They leave residents in their rooms all day long. On the independent living side, once they have your money they will welcome you the first two days and then you will never hear from anyone else. The food is always overlooked, no nutrition.

Brookdale Jackson Oaks was very nice and informative. They were friendly, clean, and had a lot of activities like church service, reading in the library, and people doing puzzles in a community area. The food smelled good. The dining area was spacious with a lot of tables. The room we saw had a spacious living room, bedroom, kitchenette, and a bath.

Brookdale Jackson Oaks is very clean. I was very impressed. We ate lunch at the facility, and we were served a delicious meal. It was like we were in a restaurant. It was not cafeteria style. There are waitresses who come to you to ask what you’ll have. We were offered dessert and coffee. The waitress was very nice. They showed us two different kinds of rooms. They had single room with double beds, which you have to furnish, and then they have apartments. We also went to a unit where there is a living room, a bedroom, and a bath. They have a room with a large television. They have a room where they play bingo and put together puzzles and play games. The facility is right across (from) a big grocery store. I would recommend this place to others looking for this kind of facility.

I viewed the independent section of this facility. It is perfect for what I want. Very independent with a full kitchen. Meals and cleaning are available for a fee. It is in a good location and seems very quiet. They have a great variety of activities available. Assisted living is available in another area of the same facility.

Jackson Oaks was a nice place. The management was extremely good. My step-father lived there when he was still alive. Their rooms were great and their staff is good.

I visited a little condo my aunt has at Jackson Oaks. I used to come down there at least once a week or every two weeks and spend the day, sometimes the night with her. She lives alone in her little space. If I were going out looking for a place for me, I would definitely look at this one. It has a gym, which has a little place so people can watch me. I can try something new and never fall, and somebody's out there to help me. It has a very large dining area. It is really clean. It is set up like one at home. The food that I ate was good. Sometimes, they have a salad bar, and if they have fish, that's usually a buffet style. You can get all the fish you want. They have an area that they provide for women. They actually have weight training. The staff is definitely helpful.

I chose Jackson Oaks because it was just closer to where I live. The main problem I have is that the place is so expensive. They need a little more staff on the afternoon shift, but other than that the staff are fine. They always serve pork and I don't eat pork, although they have another alternative which is chicken.
