I live in Independent Living at The Village of Germantown and my husband is in assisted living; we both have lovely customized apartments and have a wonderful staff to look after us. Maintence is the best and is hopeful in all kinds of situations ...even personal needs such as hinging pictures, changing light bulbs or putting wheels on a new walker...they go beyond their job descriptions to help. I personally do not mind the large entry fee, it keeps people on Medicaid out; the entry fee is invested and the investments are used to help keep the property in tip-top shaped and provide extra services that other facilities do not offer, plus you or your heir gets 90% of your investment back, when you move out or die.

My visit to The Village at Germantown was 100% positive. I like the size of the apartment and the closet. Plus, when you go there and stay for a while, if you pass away or for some other reason you decide to leave, they come in and remodel the whole apartment with new appliances and paint. I thought that was a good thing. I like the size of the apartments, the rooms, the closets, and the location. If you're on the second or third floor, you get a balcony. The staff knew their jobs. The facility had a look that's pleasing to the eye.

The Village at Germantown was really topnotch. The only problem was that it's very expensive, it's extremely expensive in fact. They want a quarter of a million dollars upfront for you to get in, and then the apartment per month was much cheaper than anywhere else. But with a quarter of a million dollars upfront, that's what was driving them. I think the apartment then was $2,100 a month, and their independent living was really, really nice and bright. Assisted living was OK, but it wasn't as nice as the price would indicate, and it was probably not quite as good. One thing about the Village of Germantown is the whole facility is very bright, very light colors, lots of space for people to have different activities, and things like that. They were actually having a sit down volleyball game while we were there, and that was good because we could see a lot of people participating. The independent apartment has plenty of room and everything; it was like a regular apartment. But now on the assisted side, it was just a single room. A lot of places have just a single room, but it was actually not as big as some of the other places, so it wasn't as nice.

Loved the staff. Cared for my dad. Listened to my concerns. My dad enjoyed the food. It was a good experience for my family. The room my dad stayed in was nice . We were able to make it looked more like a room from home. Thank you so much

The Village at Germantown was really nice. I saw both their assisted living and memory care facilities. They were very helpful. They had really nice private rooms, good meals, and on-duty nurses. The rooms weren't furnished, but they were very nice, very clean, and very efficient.

I really like the friendliness of everybody at The Village. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. The food and dining set up were excellent. It was extremely clean too. There is a resident choir -- they practices once a week -- a swimming pool, a library, programs, and birthday celebrations.

We went to The Village at Germantown, and everything was good. The rooms are good, but the only problem we had with it was the buy-in price. It is really expensive there.

The Village was a buy-in facility. What I liked was that everything was on one level, and it was spread out. The rooms were a little bigger, and it was big enough, but it lacked closet space. On the facilities, I would rate them a 5, but in financial arrangements, I would rate them not even on the scale, a 1 because they were asking you to spend $250,000 to $400,000 for an apartment, which you don't own. You would not have any kind of right, title, or equity in that facility.

Village at Germantown is a great place. My father is very happy there. Out of all the places we've looked at, their staff is a notch above everybody else. The dining facility is excellent. It's a top-rated facility.

This is truly a village where everyone takes care of the other. The staff is professional and attentive. The facility is lovely, and very clean. The staff is warm and friendly and seems to genuinely care about their residents and loves their work. The residents were active, bright and alert. There was a bee hive of activity. I was tired watching the residents preparing to leave and the ones returning from activities off campus. They were returning from golf and shopping trip. The others were preparing to attend and event. They were all dressed so sharply and excited about their outing. They were dressed in their Sunday best handsome men and gorgeous women. There are also many activities on campus for those less agile or not as active. The staff keeps them busy with excise classes, Arts and Crafts, Movie Nights, Chess, Bingo and Bridge Card games. Religious services are offered each week. Civic groups bring special events and programs for the enjoyment of the residents. There is a wonderfully planned menu with many healthy options for all diets. The food appeared to be well prepared and looked amazing. The residents said they have the best food around. The residents were happy and full of life. I can see why they all appeared to be at peace. This is a lovely facility and I would place my loved on here.
