My mom is at NHC Place at Cool Springs, and they have a caring staff. The facility is clean and well run too. They have a TV, a garden outside, a recreation room, a dining room, as well as a hair salon. The only activity I have seen is they do art class and exercise class. They have well-trained staff, so that makes it worthwhile.

The facility is clean, the staff is friendly. My friend spent six weeks their recovering from surgery. Because no one obtained her medication that they did not stock, she ended up back in the hospital. Because no one was paying attention she could not do PT, had to go on pain medication, and her recovery was delayed by weeks. I do not recommend this facility for anyone needing medical care.

about NHC Cool Springs. My 82 year old dad went there for rehab after spinal fusion on his neck. Everyone was wonderful from the social workers, therapy, nurses, techs and dietary (awesome food!). He was treated with respect every day and had everything he needed to return safely home. If he ever needed these services again, we would not hesitate to use NHC!!

NHC Place at Cool Springs is very nice, and the location was wonderful. The people were very nice. They have a rehab and also long-term facility. The rooms were larger than we thought they would be. The staff was very kind, warm, outgoing, and caring about the patients, but it was kind of depressing. A lot of the patients are Alzheimer's patients. The staff tries to keep the patients engaged in activities. The place itself is beautiful, like walking into a hotel. We ate lunch there, and it was fine. They had a nice dining room where you can have guests join you for meals.

NHC Place at Cool Springs was top-notch, like a hotel. We talked to the director of admissions, who was very pleasant and nice. They had activity rooms and recreation rooms. The dining rooms looked like restaurants.

We visited NHC Place at Cool Springs and we met one of the ladies there who was the director. We talked to her for a while and she gave us some information. She took us up on the floor and let us walk around and see what was going on. We got the chance to see the facility or the floor where she thought my mother might work. We got the pricing and that was about it. It looked very nice and it did look like they were having activities for the residents there. They were playing some games. The residents seemed to be satisfied, happy, and well taken care of. We saw one to two rooms and they were very nice.

My parents lived at NHC for over 7 years. Through the years there were good and bad or disappointing things that happened. They started out on the Assisted Living side. Yes, it is clean and pretty, but clean and pretty does not feed you or take care of your needs. NHC is consistently understaffed. So, if you have a parent that cannot speak or transfer themselves from chair to bed etc... they will wait and wait to be changed or helped. The food is less than average. It is never fresh, and always frozen and never is there fresh fruit in season. The activities on the Assisted side are usually done very well. Regarding the Rehab section, we have had varying degrees of service. Service varied from good to almost killed my father had I not shown up in time to have him transported to the hospital, due to not being checked on. So, if you go there or your loved one is there, YOU need to be present TOO. YOU need to make sure they are being taken care of as they are supposed to because you cannot count on everyone doing their job, or having the time to do it. Yes, there are good people there, yes there are well intentioned people there, but if you are understaffed and overworked, patient care suffers. The cost of a single efficiency room is $4,500 per month (2017) minimum (on assisted side) and the cost of a single room in continuing care is a minimum of $8,500 per month (2017). One would think this would provide adequate care. It does not guarantee anything.

No complaint with the staff, the facility, everything. The scenery is beautiful, and the place is spotless, very clean. All the staff from nurses to the administration couldn’t be better at NHC Place.

NHC Place at Cool Springs was probably one of the cleaner facilities I'd seen. The staff wasn't very well-trained, and there weren't enough nurses per patient, so there was a long wait time, unfortunately. My mother was actually at that facility. The food was fine. I don't think there was anything bad about the food.

NHC is a big place, they have assisted living, memory care unit, and full time nursing. They can do X-ray and physical therapy there. It’s in a commercial area and the nearest hospital is around 10 miles away. They have a beauty salon. Everything was excellent. The rooms were of good size. I’ve been there many times and the meals are very good. They offer daily activities.

We had a good experience at NHC Place at Cool Springs, and we did not really have any major complaints at all. They had several very competent staff there. The physical therapy was good. I would recommend this facility. It is our favorite in the area.

My Mother has been a resident in the memory care unit for about three years. At first, I was pleased with her care and staff. However, after numerous visits over time, I am disappointed in the staff turnover from nurses to techs in the memory care unit. They seem to be very friendly, but I see safety as an issue. The way the unit is designed is not beneficial to the patients. There seems to be not enough staffing for the patients needs. Many falls are taking place and not enough attention to detail. My mother is ambulatory and walks. They do dress her daily and mostly she is out of bed, feeding herself but I see little interaction with her because other residents seem to have greater needs. I attribute this to staffing. I would like to move her to a smaller facility for her safety and more personable care. On a positive note, they have made some director changes recently and their social worker is awesome! This nurse is trying to have patience and praying for speedy changes!!!

NHC is adequate. My father-in-law was in the assisted living part, and they do not have the handicap sinks. The heating system was out for a month in his room. They finally got the heating system working, but it is a falling hazard. There are just little things that should be more up-to-date considering that they are a memory unit. I would have expected them to have handicap units. The nursing people were nice and everything. But I don't know if it's the management or something else that was lacking. The caregivers are really nice, but they can only do so much. The sanitation is very nice.

They brought my father-in-law here in NHC for rehab. The rehab part was very nice and very good. We received very good care in this facility. The rooms and the sanitation at the rehab were very nice. The staff was all very good. It is located at a good location.

My husband was at NHC for a little over a month. I really like the facility because they treated him really, really well. He had a lot of physical and occupational therapy and he is doing very well now. Everything seemed very, very clean and it's a very busy place -- I was amazed.

We had my mom at NHC Place for therapy. I could not afford to keep her there because it was about $9,000 a month. But that is by far the best place I have ever been in. It looks like a hotel, and it's clean. I never met one staff who wasn't on top of things. They had so many activities there. They read the newspaper to them in the morning. It's like in a community center, and there's something going on everywhere. My mother does not want to go around strangers, but every morning she would come out for them to read the papers. She absolutely loved it. I'm happy with where she is right now, and Franklin is a long way from where I am, but I knew I could lie down and sleep at night because I knew those people were treating her better than I could. It's unreal how many patients they have, and they have every kind of rehab facility that you could imagine. They did wonders with her. If anybody has a parent, and Medicare will pay 100% of days of therapy, and they're anywhere around Franklin, that's where they need to go. I drove about 60 miles to put my mother there. But it was wonderful! Everything is included, and they have no added on charges. I'd give them 20 stars if I could. I never saw anything out of place, not even a magazine. They have a library where they can go and get books. You can ask them anything, you can call and whoever answers the phone will tell you what's going on. Mom was there for about a month. It's huge. I thought she'd be lost, and she'll fall through the cracks. But no, they put them in small groups, and they watch them like hawks. They have a big area, and the center of it is where all the activities are done. They can walk all the way around; they have so much room, but they can't get lost.

My mom was at NHC Place, and that's a care facility. She was falling a lot, and I couldn't take care of her here at home, so we had to put up there. She had a double room up, and they prepared all of her meals, and she went to the dining room. She got good care. It's an older place, but it's clean; it doesn't smell. Everybody is friendly. The nurse is up and down your hallway, and they call you by name when you come in. They had a beauty shop in there, and they had bingo. They have someone there that fixes hair, and they do nails. They had different groups that came in and had music, and churches came and they sang for them. There was one man and his son who came and entertained at night. It was close to Christmas, but they had had a really nice meal that night and family was invited to come and share. They had a Santa Claus and everything was decorated, and so it was at Thanksgiving as well. They'll open the door at night, but during the day, they had some type of monitor thing on them so when they would get up to the door, the door would not unlock. I had been up there morning, noon, and late in the afternoon, and they locked the doors at night.

We loved NHC, and the food was fabulous. My dad was there for rehab. My dad wanted to move there, but the only room available was shared. The people there were lovely. They put my dad up and running in three weeks.
