I am a friend or relative of resident

My daddy is a Vietnam Veteran. A very stubborn, strong willed and fiercely independent veteran. He was recently diagnosed with vascular dementia and unable to make good decisions for himself. I work full time and support a family of my own, so I'm not able to take care of my daddy full time. The VA no longer offers long-term care for veterans, so we were forced to move daddy into Ivy Hall. Daddy isn't always the easiest patient to care for. He's not always nice. He is most certainly not tactful. He has tried my patience more than a million times, so I know tending to him can be frustrating. But Ivy Hall has been so kind to daddy, regardless of his mood. They have been a true God-send. Vietnam Veterans are still neglected, especially by the VA/US Government (just wait until someone you know finds out long-term care is just not available to these veterans). But the folks at Ivy Hall have been so very respectful and thankful for daddy's service. A Vietnam Veteran requires an individualized protocol for care. I can't say we've always gotten it right, but we are working as a team to fine tune daddy's care. The point is...they are going above and beyond to accommodate and care for my daddy. I can mention so many names...Tammy, Janelle, Judy, Chris, daddy's nurses (all of them)...the CNA's (Travis), the recreation staff, the therapists. It takes a village. I'm just very thankful for Ivy Hall.

I would like to say thank you to all of the staff and employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, Tennessee for the wonderful care given to my father, Clint, during his illness and the final days of his life. The nursing care that kept him comfortable and free from pain was given in a kind, understanding, and professional manner. I highly recommend Ivy Hall Nursing Home, as it is the finest care available.

I am a friend or relative of resident

As a RN of 19 years, I haven't EVER seen a better Healthcare facility. The owner/administrator treats the residents like little babies& also, treats the families& friends of residents as part of her own family. She sees to it that her staff does the same. I had a grandmother pass away there& now, my other grandma is in there for what we had thought was just temporary. Owner prayerfully chooses the best staff around. I have also been told that she treats her employees better than any facility around. Love this family! They go out of their way to make sure that both the resident& family will be less worried & also to see that they are treated with dignity& respect. It is a difficult situation2have to c a family member be in a nursing home, but this staff gives you peace of mind! I could go on& on!

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My overall experience was very good. The staff seemed to care very much for the people they worked with. My family member enjoyed her stay there. Some of the employees did joke around a tad, but that is to be expected from a facility that hires mostly young CNAs. My family member was there for physical therapy and they seemed very efficient at this task. If there was any need, they were more than happy to accommodate us if at all possible. Even after my family member was released, they checked up on her multiple times to make sure everything was going smoothly. They even provided a walker and shower utilities until she was back to 100% healthy. I am very glad that we chose Ivy Hall.

I visited this facility

I visit the patients at Ivy Hall Nursing Home and I have to say that this is one of the nicest places that I have ever seen in a nursing home setting. They keep this place so immaculate and the staff are so very helpful to everyone. Every time I visit, the staff are all smiling and the patients are all so happy and active. I would recommend this place to anyone.
