The biggest problem they have here at StoryPoint Cordova is the food service. They are always very short handed in the kitchen. They often have one person in the kitchen cooking. Their serving staff is very shorthanded and the food quality is very uneven. The rents they require are extraordinarily high here. You're paying for a deluxe service for the deluxe Internet, but I can't get sufficient Internet to watch the streaming services I want to watch (I'm on the third floor). I've asked repeatedly for the maintenance person to call Xfinity to check out my apartment to see why I'm not getting sufficient WIFI signal up here. He checks it, but it never improves. Often, I cannot even get Wi-Fi on my laptop here. It's ridiculous. They have activities scheduled. They have a library, an outdoor space, and a miniature golf space. I have another issue about security here. There is no fence around the perimeter of the facility. There are no gates. There are no fences. There is at least one door that is not very secure on the west side of the building. Several residents and I are concerned that people can easily get in if that west side door is not slammed shut. People go in and out of that door at will and sometimes don't even need security access, so that means people can come in off the street and walk the halls. That happened here before. We were told we would get first-class service and that the meals would be like meals we were getting on a cruise ship, and that it would be an elevated experience. That is not the case and has not been the case for a long time. It's ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch with French fries. Weekends are especially bad. They can't seem to keep staff.

It was the best place that you would want your loved one to be in. They had phenomenal art hanging on the walls. The place was nice and clean. As soon as I entered, it didn't even feel like an assisted living place. They had the place set up just like you're on your own. The residents could go anywhere in the building. They even had a bar for them to sit at just like they are at a restaurant. They had all types of activities. They had a salon where the females could go get their hair done. They also had a nail technician there, so they could get their nails done. The staff that I met when I toured the place was very nice. Not only did they make their residents feel comfortable, but they made the family feel comfortable as well. When you go there and they're eating, the family that comes to visit is also welcome to eat. They have a professional chef that cooks for them and they have waiters. They'll come to the table, get your order, and serve your food.

We went here. It was very nice. My sister liked it really well as far as walking in and looking at it. It was very impressive. But their buildings were scattered out so that she just couldn't decide. Like if she were in this unit, how would she get to the big building to where the food is and where the entertainments are and things like that. She liked that place, but there were too many questions about how would she get there if this happened. Things they offer are really nice and it fits what my sister likes. When you first walk in, it's very nice-looking and very spacious. We like the happy hour possibilities. It just looked very nice, open, refreshing, and inviting. The negative is that the area of the city it's in, your car could be stolen just as quick as you get out of it, and I did not like that. We would not be visiting my sister out there for fear for our lives also. Memphis is not the best suited to be living in right now and Cordova is one I'm familiar with and I would not want to go there and visit her, and she knows it. She said, "I don't like this part of the city." However, the staff member who toured us around was nice.

It was brand new, so it was beautiful and very well laid out. The apartments are extremely convenient. The staff was phenomenal and helpful. We had lunch, and the food was excellent. They had a bar area for the residents where you could sit and watch ball games. They had a huge dining room. It was bright, well lit, and had a lot of windows, so you got lots of sunshine light coming in. They had an atrium that had skylights. The one thing that set them apart was the outlet and plugs in the apartments. Instead of them being near the floor, they were in the middle of the wall for easy reach for elderly people.
