My mother is in the Applingwood Health Care Center. I like the fact that they are very conscientious about who comes in and who comes out, they are using the COVID restrictions to the best of their ability. They have the monitor type of visitations where you come in and they only have to visit one area, so you don't go through a facility, so that way nobody won't be contracting anything and bringing it back to others. So I like it. And they are very attentive to their residents. They are very active with the residents and know what's going on with them and know each one of them. So I like it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The community layout is nice. I mean, it is all staggering, if I can say it is like three different facilities on the same parking lot and they all have their whole parking area. So it's very easy to find. The atmosphere is good, you would think you're home away from home. They have where they can get their nails done, get their hair done, they have crocheting and they can do their painting or art. So I love it. Arts and crafts, I mean, they have everything, movies, it's like in another world.

Do NOT put a family member here if they have mobility issues or if they are unable to communicate. Nursing care is limited and delegated to assistants who don’t care for patients properly. They are remiss in addressing the needs of the patients. The rooms are tiny and housekeeping is not adequate as they also assist the nursing assistants in seeing to patients.

Do not put your relatives here. staff is unattentive and uncaring. They are allowed to leave the floor any time they choose leaving patients unattended. The D.O.N. and the Administrator do nothing about the problems at this facility. Always running short staffed.

We found that Applingwood Healthcare Center was very neat, the staff is very caring, and we got all kinds of cooperation from them. The recreation director was very much on top of things, and she has something for them every day. They had a cheese and wine party, trips to the zoo, church services, games, and they had a watermelon festival. The people are so nice; there was one woman there that was so grouchy and the staff member went over and hugged her. I was very much impressed with that and the place as well.

My grandmother has been in Applingwood HCC. She seems to be happy there. She has somebody who takes care of her there. It looks nice; it looks good to me. The staff seems to be nice. The rooms are pretty nice; however, they don't provide television, and you have to bring your own TV. My grandmother says the food is good. She likes it there.
