I visited this facility

I went to look at The Garden Plaza at Cleveland. What I like best about the place is the architecture. It's beautiful. There is nothing there that I don't like. It's a very nice facility. It goes from assisted living to independent living, but they do not have a memory care section. I have tasted their food, and it was very well prepared. They have a swimming pool. It's near restaurants, shopping centers, and main roads, so it's easily accessible.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law is in Garden Plaza at Cleveland. So far, we've been very pleased with it. All of the staff has been very kind to us and helpful. It was very easy getting it set up for her and moved in and she seems to be very happy there, so far, and hopefully, it'll stay that way. Last night, they had a big Thanksgiving banquet for them and she went to that and she enjoyed that. She got to meet some new people. So far, it's been a very pleasant experience. We did get a complimentary meal and my mother-in-law seems to like the food, and then they have a little bistro that's just right across the hall from where she is living. A lot of times we'll meet her there for lunch. They're open from 11:00 to 1:00 at lunch. That's enjoyable to go in there and just have lunch with her. They have sandwiches and pizza and salads, just things like that. They provide the morning and evening meals in independent living. If they want lunch, they will usually go to the bistro or whatever. Off from the lobby, they have a big room with a fireplace and a seating area. I think they have a piano in there because one day I heard some beautiful piano music and I said something to the receptionist about it and she said, "Oh, that was one of the residents from assisted living that had come over to play." They have a lot of day trips that they take them on and sometimes, I guess, overnight trips. They have bingo and cornhole or something like that. They have places where they can go and work puzzles. They have lots of activities for them. I would highly recommend it right now. She's not been there that long, but our experience so far has been very pleasant. They have staff and on Fridays, they come in and clean their little apartments for them. I would stay there because I think it would be pleasant and I would love all the activities. I think it's a very good value for what they get. I checked into several and for the money, the value is very good because overall, they have very good food and they have very good staff. In my opinion, it would be a very good place for anybody to check out. For the money and the services they get, I don't know that they'll find a better place there in Cleveland.

I visited this facility

I like Garden Plaza At Cleveland. The only thing I don't like about is the balcony's railing that is too high. They need to knock that railing down about one-half of what it is and then put an iron railing up there, so people can see out. Other than that, it's a nice place. They have a TV and Wi-Fi. They have heating and air conditioning in your room. They have garbage pick-up at your door. You can come and go as you please. You can make friends there and you can sit on the balcony or the porch. They have an outdoor where you can walk your dogs out back, but that's about it. They have separate housing if you want it, but it costs a lot more. They have a pool but it's a small pool. It's big enough for two or three people. The staff who took me around was friendly and professional. She is an elderly lady, and she knew her business. It was very nice there. They had a nice lounge area and a place where you can read books. It looked nice in there. It had a dark earth texture and stuff in there. It suited me fine. It's right next door to an assisted living place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We lived in Garden Plaza at Cleveland for two months, to see if we would like living there. So after research, we found this community is the best for us for what they offered and the location. Everything is just for our pleasure, it was great. We've been with them now for several months in the independent living level, and if push comes to shove we'll move to the assisted living. We are in what's called a garden home, which is a lovely little cottage with a large living room, dining room, full-sized kitchen, two full baths made for people with handicaps, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. There are two nice-sized bedrooms, a little courtyard with a screened-in porch, and a nice little backyard and a patio. It's very convenient and very nice. They have a lot of activities and outings to places like restaurants. We had a big Octoberfest, and tomorrow we're going to have a Halloween costume party, it's very nice; there's always something going on. I'm scheduled to have surgery in a few weeks, and they will be bringing me to the outpatient area to have the surgery, then they are going to bring me home. So they're very accommodating when it comes to stuff like that. The staff is really very nice and always willing to do anything for you. The only complaint that we have is that the food is not what we expected them to be. They replaced the chef that has been here for about four years, and with the new chef. I don't think it's working out too well.

I visited this facility

Garden Plaza at Cleveland is excellent in just about every possible way. The staff members are absolutely wonderful, helpful, and nice. It's a beautiful place, all the way from patio homes to assisted living, in their central building. For apartments, they have studio apartments and 2-bedrooms, some with and without balconies. They also have two different kinds of patio homes, traditional, and open floor plans, and both of them are quite nice duplexes. They do all the cleaning and I talked to a number of people there and they're all happy about it. They have transportation and they'll take you anywhere you want to go and they have various activities. We were invited to make one of those elegant desserts and also to an ice cream social.

I visited this facility

Garden Plaza was a top notch facility. I looked at their rooms, main building, and cottages, which were very nice but very expensive. They had bistros, a pool, and really great facilities. The location was very easy to get to. Everything was very convenient, and they had adequate parking.

I am a friend or relative of resident

When looking for a place for my mother I interviewed with I believe all the facilities within a 50 mile radius. I wanted an apartment for my mother that would extend assisted living privileges yet I/she really wanted it to be so that she would feel at home and not as if she was in a nursing home type environment. After checking the other places I interviewed Garden Plaza. I was amazed at everything they had to offer and how well everything was maintained. A dear friend of ours has lived there for around 5 years and no complaints from her. The apartment as well as the common areas were well maintained and there wasn't any odors at all. I have this thing about odors and so did my mother. She would walk in a place and if there were any odors she would walk out. The dining area is wonderful and serves even greater food. Being checked on in the apartment throughout the day is also a plus. Knowing my mom has her independence yet someone is popping in to say hi and see if you need anything means so much to me. It gives her someone to talk to on a regular basis even if it is just for a moment, and knowing they are actually dong regular checks on her means the world. they have a swimming pool that has an instructor who is also a resident. This means the residents aren't intimidated by a much younger person feeling like they are being pushed too hard. The apartment itself has a pull cord in the event mom needed emergency help. It has kitchen area that is actually pretty large for an apartment as well as the bedroom and bath. The staff will come in and make the beds and do the linens for her as well. They have regularly scheduled events for the residents to enjoy. There is a beauty shop on site which is great for those ladies who like to get their hair done once a week. There are so many great things they offer that anyone looking for an assisted living facility would want it's unreal. In my checking around Garden Plaza would get a 10/10 compared to the other facilities because the staff is wonderful and friendly, the facility itself is very well maintained, they have a lot to offer the residents and the price was actually lower in a few cases compared to other facilities. There was just something about Garden Plaza that says "you are Home".....I'm a "review reader" myself and question those that sound too good to be true. I would suggest stopping by and see for yourself, but make Garden Plaza that last one your tour because your gonna want to stay when you get there. I am only 52 but if I were able I would live there in a split second. I love it and so does my friend. Unfortunately mom passed before she got to experience Garden Plaza. I know she would have loved it and I also would have had a lot less worries about mom knowing she was in such great hands.... My good friend still lives there and has no plans on moving......

I visited this facility

I visited Life Care directly without any appointments, and they are booked up for three years. They were very polite and nice. It’s a big facility -- very nice and clean. They’ve got a couple of different facilities, and the people were very nice. I saw people there, and they were very well, talking, loving, and enjoying each other. The staff was very kind, helpful, and understanding. The thing about my situation is that my mother has Lewy-body dementia and Parkinson’s, and they have doctors on call and nurses who they know what to do. I believe they also have full time care.

I visited this facility

I liked that Garden Plaza had in-house rehab. The manager was very attentive. She seemed very nice. It was just further away from my sister who lived in Chattanooga. It was a smaller facility, but then again it was clean, and the staff was good. They seemed to be a good place. The location was fine, but it was just too far away from my sister so they couldn't easily visit my mom. It looked nice, it smelled nice, and I didn't see anybody being neglected. If it was closer, we could have considered it more.

I am a friend or relative of resident

The facility is extremely comfortable, well maintained and pleasing to the eye. My mother was a resident and the staff was so helpful in overseeing her day to day care. Esmerelda has gone above and beyond in assisting our family during a very difficult time. I cannot say enough good things about this facility and their staff. I highly recommend a visit if you are needing a retirement facility.

I visited this facility

I had visited Garden Plaza. It was a never facility and closer to my doctors' offices. It had more amenities and activities for the people who lived there. It was less costly. The people were very nice and friendly. I had signed up with them and they had put me on their waiting list. I would recommend Garden Plaza to others.

I visited this facility

I recently had the opportunity to visit Garden Plaza in Cleveland, Tn. Upon arrival I was immediately impressed with the decor and level of upkeep. The lobby is adjacent to a lovely dining room as well as a beautiful atrium. The Admissions Director was friendly without being overbearing or pushy. I also had the opportunity to meet with the Executive Director Esmerelda, and I thought that she was very nice and professional. Overall my visit was a good experience and I will be considering this home in the near future for my mother.
