I have put my parents at Consulate Health Care. I thought the staff to patient ratio was good. The location is good for me. They have a critical wound nurse which I had to have for my mom. The room is big enough for my parents.

Do not put your loved ones here. My grandmother lived here for a little over a year. This was done quickly when the hospital informed my dad that my grandmothers Alzheimer's had advanced to the point that she did not need to be at home anymore. He had to find a place before she was released and the hospital recommended Consulate Care. When I moved here several months later and saw the condition of the community I immediately started looking for a different facility. It is more like a hospital than an assisted living community. The facility always smelled of urine and the residents were constantly being ignored. My grandmother would often remove the bracelet from her leg that would keep her from being able to open the door and the staff were never quick to replace it. When we finally found a new home for her and went to move her the staff at Consulate informed us that they did not know where any of her clothes or shoes were. Her name was in everything. I knew that when we had been visiting her that her clothes did not look familiar but she had lost a lot of weight since I had been able to see her in person the last time. (I lived 1,000 miles away) The staff told us they had been dressing her out of lost and found for some time and had no clue what had happened to her clothing. they sent her from the facility with the clothes on her back (that weren't even hers). I then had to go buy her a new wardrobe for the new facility. I wish I would have moved back to town sooner to get her out of this situation much earlier. The facility we found was 50 times nicer and much cheaper.

This is one of the worst facilities I have visited. It smells of urine and feces. My brother is a large person and they do not have the neccesary equipment for him to function. The room he was in and the bathroom was nasty. Someone else clothes were in the drawers as well as their toothbrush and comb in the bathroom. The room obviously was not cleaned before admitting my brother. I would not suggest this facility to anyone.
