My mom moved to American House Shallowford. It had everything that she needed. They had a doctor there and three nurses. Her apartment is very nice. She has a studio. She has her bed in there, her desk, and her TV. She has a little kitchenette area with just the sink, refrigerator, and bath. The bath was handicapped accessible. The staff is very helpful. I have a question and I can find someone to ask. I have seen the food. It looked good and smelled good. The facility has been updated. It looks nice and clean. They have several activities every day. They have a calendar and give her and tell her what's going on, and they have three meals.

I toured American House Shallowford. The community was great. The building was very pretty. The service was great. The staff took me around and showed me some rooms. I liked the community. I felt that's maybe a place that my husband would be comfortable in on his level. I liked it. The staff was very patient. She explained everything to me. She was very cordial, very nice, and very understanding. The rooms were great. They were maintained and decorated. The dining area was nice. It was well laid out and very convenient.

I toured American House Shallowford. It was more updated than the other place. It was a nicer and much larger facility. The activities director seemed great. She just really, really loved her job and loved the people that she worked with. The staff I met were very friendly, very kind and compassionate. They had all the same amenities as all the others. They had a salon and a doctor in-house. They seemed to have a lot of activities. It was just too big for my mom.

I liked that American House Shallowford felt kind of homey. They had more options for the types of rooms in the memory care. They had a courtyard and a salon. I think that they had fewer caregivers to residents, not significantly, but it just felt like they were unsettled. The staff seemed knowledgeable, but there wasn't as much interaction with us as in the other place we toured.

My husband is in American House Shallowford. The care is excellent. The service that they provide for him is excellent. It's very clean. He's satisfied there. They're very, very nice to him. They give him his medicine and take care of everything, help him bathe, and all that stuff. So I'm very satisfied. They have community rooms, and they have activities, but he is not participating. The rooms are roomy. The people working there, they're all very cordial. They're all very nice. They seem to have the patient's best interests at heart.

American House Shallowford was a wonderful place. They seemed to know all of their residents. We enjoyed the ability of the people that live there. We saw people walking around. There were very few people really in their rooms. They were out mingling with the others. Some were just walking up and down the halls and some were waiting at tables to eat. It was nice that we were able to talk to the chef and to the nurse that was on duty. It was just a homey and very nice place. We were very thrilled with it. We looked at a studio apartment and then we looked at a 1-bedroom apartment. They were bare, so we had to provide our own appliances and furniture. They had a courtyard. They would provide 3 meals a day. It was a rather small place with less than 50 residents. The person that was supposed to take us on a tour was in somebody else's office talking to somebody else. So, another person took us around and he sat in the boss's chair. It was kind of disjointed at first, but it went very well overall. He knew all the answers to our questions, and he did a great job. They were remodeling some offices in some buildings. This used to be a different facility and they were cleaning it up and making it theirs. So, as new residents come in, if you want a wood floor, they'll put that down. If you want carpet, they'll put that down and they'll paint the room for you.

My mother is in memory care at American House Shallowford. It is a little bit better than average. It's been bought by somebody else and they are renewing all of their painting, furniture, flooring, and everything. It's going to be new, so that's one good thing. They play games, they do trivia, they watch TV together, and they eat together. My mom is able to be social. She's got some people to talk to, whereas here it was just the two of us in the house. It's a much better place for her socially. She eats the food. She uses the common areas in the memory care every day. She, not that I know of, does not take part in the common areas in the assisted living, but that's an option for her to take part in. We walk around the entire facility. I go for walks with her and we go through all of the areas inside and, weather permitting, outside. The staff is very nice. They're very good to her.

The rooms at American House Shallowford were of nice size. Everyone that we saw seemed to be very happy in the memory care part. It was bright, it wasn't dark and dreary. The staff who gave me the tour was very happy, upbeat, and very knowledgeable about assisted living and memory care. She said the memory care was the part she loved the most,nd a that's why she was working there. She knew and spoke to the residents and they carried on some conversations with her. She seemed very, very nice. Another lady came in that works there. I don't remember what her position was, but she was very upbeat too. I liked her. They're in the middle of updating everything. The whole place was clean. The room that they showed us was newly painted and updated. They have an enclosed garden area for memory care. I know they have a lot of activities during the day, but I don't know the details of that.

My tour at American House Shallowford was a little disjointed. The person who gave me the tour was very new. A lot of the questions that I had, she couldn't answer. She was very quick to get back to me with the answers within the next couple of days, when she was able to find them. They were under construction when I toured, so it was a little bit messy. It was a small community, which I liked for my dad. It seemed very homey. The care techs were sitting with the residents, and they were helping the residents. They seemed to be very caring and attentive. They have movie nights and campfire nights. They gather in the common room decorated in a campfire atmosphere, and they also have game nights. I know it's an older facility and they're updating that, but the construction kind of turned me off. Also, the person they had me tour with was very new and didn't have anybody there to help her. It was sort of off-putting to me.

American House Shallowford was not well kept. Holes in the walls where nails had been, not painted, carpet did not look clean. It was not somewhere that I would want to be. I thought I would like it, but I didn't. The rooms need some maintenance. The bathrooms, it looked like it had particle board. They didn't have cabinets in the bathroom. It had rough edges. It just was not very clean. It was chaotic. They had partitions at tables where only two people could sit at the table. Some of the tables didn't have chairs.

We went here and they were all really nice. We like all the people we met and the place seemed adequate, but we just don't want to make up our minds until we see some other places. They were all very helpful, and the facility is fairly nice. It's not exceptional, but it is plenty adequate. Of course, we were only there for a short time. We were actually there almost two hours that day, so it wasn't really a short time. We saw the rooms, and Bob was able to join in and play bingo with some of the group. We didn't see the menus or anything like that. It was just helpful to talk to the people who are running the place, and they seem really nice. They had various sizes of rooms. One was quite small but still adequate for one person if they didn't have a lot of stuff. They have a two-bedroom unit that was small, but it had two bedrooms, so if two people were friends or sisters or something like that, they could share. Each one would have his or her own little bedroom and they could share the unit, which would save them some money. They had the same size of unit with one bedroom, which made it a more spacious area. We actually like the one-bedroom where you had a little living-room area, a nice bathroom, a sink, and a refrigerator, but no cooking equipment because you don't need any; they furnish all the meals. They had a courtyard, and the maintenance crew were out there working when we were there, and they were washing the windows too. It's not a luxury place but it seemed adequate. The staff members were great.

We visited for my mother-in-law, and I would give it a high review for a good community feel. The amenities are not as nice, but we felt that that is because it is a little bit older and not as new. We got the feel that in terms of the community and the quality of care, it would have been a 5+. We were very impressed with the people that toured us and talked to us about the facility. Those who assisted us seemed to be the most knowledgeable and thoughtful about what we're going through and what we needed. The rooms were clean.

I toured here. I toured the dining room and the place where they were doing the activities because it was New Year's Eve. Overall, I would say that it was nice, it looked like it had a lot of different options and it seemed pleasant. I'd say it was a good tour. The staff was very good, the tour guide seemed very accommodating, she inquired about us personally and let me know a lot about the pricing. It was a good experience although there were a couple of other people that just were not professional. They kind of didn't treat me like I'm nobody but they didn't really have anything to do with the tour. It was a very nice facility as far as having some very nice outdoor area where people can walk, they have a courtyard for each section. It was a little dated-looking initially when I first walked in but as I looked around, it was clean and very nice. I got the chance to check on the menu. In fact, the guide made a special point to show it to me on the wall and explain to me about the food. There was also a menu on the pamphlet that she sent me home with but I have not tried the food.

We're pleased with it. We're just upset because of COVID, we can't be over there all the time to monitor what's happening to my mom. So far, when we see her, she looks OK. The staff members are all OK. They're friendly, kind and seem to be on top of things. She's in memory care, and we can't go into that part of the faciity. When we see her, they bring her out into the library and we have to sit 6 feet apart with masks on and things like that, but at least we get to see her. They do exercises every day, they supervise them during games and puzzles, and they keep them kinda busy. The activities now are different from pre-COVID days, whereas before, it was great. They had entertainment all the time, and we could actually go out there all the time and we would have different schedules on who's gonna be there. Of course now with COVID, no one's gonna be there.

I visited and the staff seemed to be fine, and the apartments were extremely small. The dining area looked nice, and just like a regular restaurant. I saw a theater room, but I wasn't that interested because of the small rooms.

We liked it because it was smaller, and all on one level. We were familiar with the reputation of the food, which was very good. The staff has been wonderful; they were wonderful before we move, and they were wonderful since.

It was a little bit older than the other place we visited. Their memory unit was also smaller. The staff that assisted us was very helpful, and we had a nice visit. There was a lot of interaction with the residents there. The dining area was really nice.

It has studio and apartment style accommodation. It was good, and the staff was excellent. And what I like the most was everything in one level.

We got my uncle and aunt in an assisted living and they are now in here. We chose this facility because they have larger rooms and they are all in one-floor. Their staff is good. They are very cordial, friendly and helpful. They offer plenty of activities there and my relatives can avail themselves whenever they can. My uncle is on oxygen 24/7, so he has a difficult time going anywhere, but his wife is going to lunch with some of the ladies there.

My aunt lives in this facility. I am happy with the care she is receiving, the staff is friendly and knows the names of each family member that visits. My aunt seems happy when I visit and she is always clean and alert. I can call and check on her at any time. My children like to visit during activity time. They enjoy playing the games with the residents. I recommend this facility but would suggest you get to know your loved ones caregivers and visit at different times of the day.
