I pleaded with my parents to move from a single family home to an assisted care facility close to me (550 miles from Brownsville). or to my brother (600 miles away) and they would not consider. The decision was to stay in Brownsville and move to Sugar Creek. That was the best decision our family has ever made! The management and staff there are a TEN!! When we first moved our parents in, we were there for several days and people were so nice and I thought that it was because my brother & I were there. I quickly learned from other residents that they were that nice all of the time. I now know that it is true they are just super nice people. What a wonderful place. My parents, brother and I could not be happier! What a relief being so far away and knowing that my parents are so well taken care of. Cannot say enough good things! If you are considering this facility talk to me--- I am tickled pink.

The tour I had of Sugar Creek Senior Living was delightful. We met several people there. The staff was very thorough. My husband had a great interaction with one of the residents as we were ready to leave. For him to be able to talk to somebody was good. It was an older gentleman and we exchanged quite a few pleasantries together. The facility layout was good. The one-bedroom suite was very acceptable. It's out of our range financially right now, but they had everything else that we wanted. They had emergency call services and security. They gave us some gift packets as we left with some notepads, pens, and candy, and that was cool. It was a nice gesture. The one thing about them that I liked was it was very spiritually oriented. They had spiritual plaques and notations and just the overall attitude was very serene. Not that the others weren't, but this was more prominent. I remember seeing things that just reminded you to keep your eyes on things that are more eternal rather than temporal. We saw a beauty shop, and we met the beautician as we were touring. We saw an exercise room. The staff was very helpful. The person that we had the tour scheduled with was called away unexpectedly at the last minute, but she arranged before she left rather than reschedule our tour. She had her assistant take us through. She was as prepared as she could have been. It wasn't something she normally did, but I think she did a wonderful job, so that was impressive.
