Even though leaving home is always difficult, Doug's dad has settled in to his new home. He is 90 years old and very mentally alert and physically active. During nice weather he appreciates being able to walk outside with confidence because each resident wears a 'safety alert' neck chain. To stay physically active on days when the weather is cold, he attends daily exercise classes and uses the fitness room. The staff is so personable and he thinks it's so special to visit with each one of them, and he feels comfortable asking for help with any of his daily living needs. This is so valuable during COVID since we haven't been able to stop in spontaneously. Speaking of COVID, the facility has strict protections in place and we appreciate that for the health of all. When considering a new residence for your loved one, we enthusiastically recommend Walnut Village!

I resided in Walnut Village 7 days for respit care. A fine, caring, kind environment with all necessary needs met as well as a feeling of home with care and concern for all my needs. I will definately go back to Walnut Village.

The location of this facility was ideal. Also, it was very charming as it is in an old high school and is both historic and modern in nature, with its renovations. With it being in such a well-constructed building, it is safer than other facilities that we have toured. The best things about Walnut Village to me were all of the options for the residents. There were many pleasant outdoor areas to safely walk around in, an indoor pond, and several different social areas and social events. We saw residents playing cards and the environment seemed as homey as an assisted living facility can probably get. The staff we talked to were very friendly and they seemed to enjoy interacting with the residents. The part of this facility that stood out the most was the charm of its historic building and the attractive outdoor space. It was nice to see several residents enjoying the outdoors, we have not seen this at all facilities that we have visited to this point.
