My husband spent 6 months at Brookstone Terrace Woodruff. He suffered from Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's disease and lung cancer. During his time there he had a large private room and bath. He received excellent care. The facility is clean and the meals are very good, I ate with him almost every night. The staff was like a second family to both of us as well as my son.I really like that the dementia residents are mixed with the other residents and not locked up in a separate ward. The entire staff was kind, loving, and treated him like he was their Papa.I still go visit the staff and am always greeted with open arms and lots of hugs. Thank you Patrick for being instrumental in getting him transferred from the other place he was in and Thank you to the the rest of the staff for helping to make Brookstone a home away from home.I am convinced that God led me to make that phone call and follow up with a visit. I give them a Five star rating.
What you can do with Caring
About Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff in Woodruff, South Carolina
We are the only Integrated community in the entire area. This will prove to be important to you as we do not segregate our memory care residents. All other communities have a segregated standalone memory care which in my opinion is very depressing and isolating. Here all our residents live together whether they are independent, needing assistance or even dealing with mid to late-stage dementia. I assure you; you will not find an atmosphere anywhere like ours and at a very affordable rate. Please let me know what day and time will work best for you. I look forward to helping you better understand the benefits of our Integrated setting. To learn more about this provider's license and review other available state reports, please visit: South Carolina Department of Public Health

I toured Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff. I like the management. They seem to be pretty thorough and even knowledgeable of dealing with a patient who has some behavior items. The place has a very clean room. I like the layout. So everything is visible from the nurse's station and all the hallways have one nurse's station and you can look down each hallway. The entire facility is secure. You don't have to worry about them having to be locked down in one area of the building.

Dad moved to Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff. They are good. They're very helpful and friendly. Communication is good with them. Dad is in a single occupancy. It has a full bathroom for showers and everything in it, which some places don't. It's a little larger than a studio. He has a bed, a sitting area, and everything else. The food I tasted was very good. I had French toast for breakfast.

Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff looked nice. It's smaller, so more for my husband to be looked after. They were all very, very friendly. They have activities for the residents. They have home-cooked meals. You can get a furnished room if you want. The room is roomy and nice. It was an older building, but it was clean and didn't smell. The dining area was nice and roomy for people to get in there. When I went there, an employee was mopping and had it all cleaned up.

I went to Brookstone Terrace of Woodruff. I didn't like it because it had the smell of a retirement home. It's an older facility. It was a gentleman that was the director who gave me the tour of the whole thing. He sat down with me and he went over a lot of things that I hadn't thought about and things that would have to be done. He gave me a lot of useful information. They were all semi-private rooms and they have their own beds, their own dressers. You did not bring any furniture, other than their favorite chair. The dining area was large, and all the furniture looked new. It's in Woodruff, which is about a 45-minute drive for me to go to. They do trips, although typically the trips are just in downtown Woodruff, and Woodruff is just a small town. Upkeep and maintenance were pretty good, and I didn't see any paint on the walls peeling off and there was no evidence of leaks in the roof.

It is very nice. It is small, but my mom seems to be happy there. The people are very helpful. I didn't get to taste the food, but she's happy with it.
