My husband stayed at TerraBella Summerville for respite care. I put him there to go on a trip. I dropped him off there. Before I left, I went to visit him. They didn't give him his medication. They missed three doses of his medication. And he was soiled, he was not clean. And when he pushed the button for them to come, he said they didn't come right away. He could have had a seizure. There are seizure medications in there, too. They missed three doses, and I gave him his dose before I left. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him there, but I came back and I took him out of there. And then he was soiled when I went there to take him out. Plus, they wouldn't give me a refund. I wasn't happy with them at all. I asked for a broom because I found dead roaches and spiders in the room and I cleaned it up myself. They had bingo, they had an activity room, they had a library. He was happy with the library, but other than that, he wasn't happy at all. And so that's why I took him out, because I was afraid that he was going to have a seizure. I wasn't sure about the medications. And they didn't keep him clean. When I was away, I had to call them and tell them to give him a shower. It was just a horrible experience.

I went to TerraBella Summerville. They were very friendly. I had no appointment. It was a Sunday. There was one of the employees sitting out in the rockers out front with everyone else. She welcomed me. I interrupted her eating her lunch. And she did it anyway. I said, "You don't have to," but they went out of their way. They were very kind people. It was an older building, but when you walked inside it looked like it had been completely remodeled. It was one of those things where you walk in and go, wow, that is not what I expected from the outside. Someone put some money inside that place. I only went a few feet in. The common area is very nice. It is very well-kept.

I like TerraBella Summerville a lot. My mother would be moving in there today if we could afford it. It topped off every single place that I've looked at by far. They really seem to have genuine care for their residents. I had the opportunity to see the staff interacting with a particular resident who seemed a little bit lost and needed a little bit of assistance, and they were right on it, caring for him and understanding that he was confused. It was really wonderful. They have new management there that's working toward building different activity centers for them, which I thought was really fantastic. The facility itself was very clean. I really enjoyed the fact that they had nursing staff 24/7 there. The staff was very understanding to the very specific needs that my mother has. He was very understanding and very concise. He was great about explaining how things work there, so I really thought it was great. They have an activities director there. They have a monthly calendar with different activities that they can choose to do throughout the day every day. They were in the middle of building a new arts and crafts room, as well as putting together a makeshift movie theater type deal for them.

TerraBella Summerville was well kept. They told me that there was a nurse on duty, and I found out later that they did not have a nurse, so that kind of turned me against them. The rooms were nice but not as nice as the one at the other place. I have no real comment about the staff, except that he's the one who told me that they had a nurse and they didn't. He was friendly though. They had a garden that you could work in and everybody shared it. They had an activity room. People were doing things in there. I saw somebody painting. They're having a little painting class, so they have training and stuff, too. The facility seemed nice. It was clean. I walked there and looked at the dining room. They have options. You can order meals in your room. There's room service, so you don't have to go to the dining room. They had a good facility. They need to come up with something for those of us who smoke. I asked about smoking and they said "back out the other side of the garden" basically, and it's a long walk.

I went to TerraBella Summerville and had a good tour. I just don't think it was a good fit for my mom. She's a little bit more active than the place, but it was clean and organized. The layout was pretty good. The tour guide was very informative, but when we got there, he kind of acted like he wasn't expecting us even if we had an appointment. However, he was very nice once we got in there.

I toured TerraBella Summerville. The price was really nice. They had only single rooms. They were very nice and quite large. The place didn't smell like a hospital. The employees were all polite. The facility was easy to clean, and everything was centrally-located. They offered all the amenities. It's literally next to the hospital and next to medical care. Restaurants and everything are all right there. Another thing I like about this place is that it's a lot smaller than the other community I saw. This only has 40 beds.

We visited TerraBella Summerville. It looked pretty good. However, the rooms they have available are all studios, and my parents want something with a separate bedroom. The layout of the rooms seemed OK though. The staff who accommodated me was friendly and seemed knowledgeable of the place. I would give them a three as an overall rating because they didn't have the diversity of rooms. The upkeep of the facility seemed pretty decent. They had a salon, and they had bus service to take them to appointments and stuff like that.

I toured for my husband. They made an appointment for an interview with him. I called to say that my husband got sick, and he was at the emergency room and asked if they could do the interview at the emergency room, which is next door. They said, no, they couldn't, because the person that was going to do it was sick. They said what they can do is make another appointment, but I haven't heard from them. And this was at the point of them interviewing him. During the tour, it looked nice and a little larger and a little more sprawling than the other location I saw. It had a very nice entrance. They have different places where I saw different residents congregating and doing other things. I didn't see what activities they were doing, but I was able to see that they were doing things. There are also numbers of people sitting around in different spots. The staff did a thorough interview during intake, and he was fine. However, he did not get back to me. I thought the dining area was nice and the room I saw was very nice, too. It was much nicer than the other place and was a little bigger. You could put two chairs on the side and be able to talk to the person. You could just make that one cozier. The presentation was great, but the follow up was not good.

My mom was in here for two months. It was a nice facility with numerous activities. The accommodations were excellent, and the staff was excellent. They have movie. They play cards, bingo, checkers, and crafts. They have two hospital beds to a room. You provide your own TV, and they have cable set up. There is a handicap bathroom. My mom liked the food. The dining area is cafeteria style, and it’s nice.

I liked it. The staff and the rooms were fine, but it was a two story building, and all they had available was on the second floor. My father is not in a position to use that. They had a locked door, so people could not just wander out. It had good security; you have to have a security code to get in.
