It is a good environment. We were satisfied with the majority of the things that they did, we didnt have complaints. The staff was pretty good, they respond to questions that we would ask, and would take care of what they're doing. My father's room was pretty nice, it was clean, has bright colors and not dull which helped with the atmosphere. The rooms in the interior of the building seems to be pretty good, they were apartment types. They had like a little exercise room, they have a room where they can gather to watch TV or play activities as a group. They had a dining area where they had a few of their events for Christmas, it was pretty nice and the catering is pretty good. They brought like live dancing groups and so on. The ambiance seem to be pretty good. The staff were courteous and responsive, we've never had any problems with any of them. They put a lot into their activities and events, there's a lot to do.

Oaks at Mt. Pleasant is memory care. They have a big number of staff per patient. Most of the people there are patients because they mostly have Alzheimer's. That was impressive. It's renovated, so it's a little fresher looking than most other places.

We have selected Oaks at Mt. Pleasant for my mom. It was incredibly clean. It was a home-like atmosphere. All the staff were very engaged. None of the individuals who lived there were completely all alone. It just was a very caring, home-like environment. The dining room was so incredibly clean and tidy, and it was right after lunch that I was there. I didn't see the food, but it smelled good. They have an activity room where they do daily activities. They have memory boxes for each one of the individuals who live there that they keep in the activity room. In the memory box you could put special pictures of family and things that remind them of home. It is a secure place, so they don't get lost. They are not dropped or left somewhere. They encourage individuals who live there to go through the boxes to help them with their comfort and remembering.

I chose it because it seemed to have a little more space, and the staff seemed to be very alert and caring. The sales representative was very good, too. My wife's condition is such that group activities don't mean a great deal to her. They had a Mother's Day luncheon, which our children and I went to, and that was very greatly appreciated. They did an excellent job. The food and dining seemed to be very satisfactory.

The rooms were nice and spacious. They had their own bathroom, which is nice. I also like that they have an outdoor facility where they do some planting. I think they have the Montessori method where there are things they could do, looks like a golf cart, a baby stroller, washer/dryer, things like that they may have hands on activity. My mother goes in next week.
