My father moved to the Presbyterian Community following a fall. He was in skilled nursing (SN) for approx 2 months before moving to memory care. His time in SN was great. We were pleased with his level of care & the attentiveness of the care staff. I was pleased with their level of communication - they ensured I was in the loop regarding what was going on with my father. He adjusted well and we felt confident his needs were being met. He moved to the Memory Care unit (MC) a few weeks ago and seems to be thriving in this new area. The level of care is different, but still great! I have no doubt my dad is in the best place for his needs. I would definitely recommend the Presbyterian Community. The only less than positive thing I can say is the facility is quite dated and is in need of being updated. But, the facility is safe, clean and appropriate.

I visited The Columbia Presbyterian Community. The person who showed me around was knowledgeable and helpful. The facilities were very, very nice. I saw a 2-bedroom apartment in independent living, and it was quite large. There's plenty of space for two people. I did not eat there but I saw their dining area, and it was attractive. They have an exercise room and an on-site physical therapist. They have all kinds of activities for fitness, rooms for card games, and places to watch video films.

I was able to see two rooms at The Columbia Presbyterian Community. One looked like a dungeon and smaller than my dorm room. It was $6,000 a month, which was absurd. The other one was a little bigger and there was some light that came through the windows. It was $8000, which frankly amuses me. I think what you pay for these rooms for your loved ones and the care that you get, it's ridiculous. They seemed to have a lot of menu options and a fair amount of activities for them to do. They had a movie night, a gym, a hair salon, and an arts and crafts room, but the facility looked like a prison. The rooms were just ridiculously small and crappy looking. The staff may be nice people, but I think they just put on a happy face so they can get more people in and increase their revenue. That's all they care about. If they are going to gouge people with that kind of money, they should have something to look forward to. I don't even know how much the director makes. I'm curious about that, too, because I just think it's a ripoff and it's a shame that we let this happen to our elderly and to the families of our elderly that have taken care of those people for so long and then have gotten to the point where they just can't do it anymore. It's too physically draining. I met the director who took me on a tour, though, and a nurse who was walking up a hall, and they seemed nice enough.

Overall this places is no good. Care is horrible, cleaning is nonexistent and therapy is a joke.

Very poor call time for rooms. Average 20/ 30 min. If you need immediate care could be life threatening situation. Other than press call button which lights up above door in hall no other form of contact is possible. No method of making an emergency call if time is critical. Obviously could be life threatening situation. Only option is to wait until they decide to come. Have seen no immediate response to call sign. Have seen nurse assist. walk by room if not assigned to that room when call light is on. Realize expense involved but need call system that allows communication with a call desk 24/7. Then response can be based on need of patient at that time. I can think of no other way to reduce risk and care of patients. At present a potentially very dangerous situation exist in my judgement.

My mother was sent there for "approximately 2 weeks" for physical therapy. It turned into 4 weeks of suffering. The evening and weekend staff are lazy, often leaving elderly staff alone for extended periods of time. My mother suffered because Dr Lord refused her fluids, changes in pain medication or the proper care required. My mother repeatedly was told by a male staff member she didn't need the restroom "because it is just gas"! My mother was left alone twice on the toilet and allowed to fall and bash her head in, then was not given proper medical follow-up or MRI, despite her being on strong blood thinners. I would never recommend this facility for my family member. They're more iinterested in the bottom line than taking care of patients. Run to another facility, particularly if your loved one requires a lot of hands on attention.

I was impressed with the two places I visited, but I'm leaning toward Columbia Presbyterian Community. It was a beautiful facility and seemed to offer more amenities. I was really pleased with the grounds and the facility. I ate lunch there, and the food was delicious. I had a very good meeting with their marketing director. That visit was very pleasant. They had progressive care, so if I became more disabled, they could handle that. By being large, it gives them the opportunity to afford more amenities.

Moved my dad to the memory care unit aT Presbyterian Home in Columbia a year ago. We could. Not be more satisfied with the care and services. My dad is so happy and content. His room is lovey and the environment is very homey. The staff are compassion, caring and professional. Residents don't sit around as there is always something f scheduled for them to do. It's a clean facility and the bery best in my opinion.

I visited Columbia Presbyterian Community. Everything was great. The cleanliness of the facility was outstanding. Everything about it was pleasant. I spoke to some of the people who liked it. The apartment had a sitting room, one bedroom, and a little kitchenette, which was all I needed. It was of sufficient size. They had an exercise room and all that standard stuff.

I visited Columbia Presbyterian Community. It was a good visit, but I figured out this would not be a suitable place for my mother because she won't be able to get up the stairs. They have a nice, clean, common dining area with a breakfast bar. Overall, it's a nice place.

My mother is at Presbyterian Home, and her care is very good. The staff is friendly and caring. They have a gym and a church right on the campus. They have all kinds of activities for them all the time, and they have a bus that takes them somewhere. Their rooms are beautiful and so is the dining room where they do most of their socializing. They even have a walking path down to the river. It’s just a beautiful campus. It’s really good for somebody that wants to leave their home and go there. It’s not the same as home, but it’s beautiful, the residents love it, and the people are very friendly. They have lots of other friends to mingle with.

Presbyterian was clean and very nice. But it was more of a hotel setting, and it only had one room instead of an apartment. My mom didn't care for that. But the facility was nice and clean, very luxurious, and the staff was fine. The food was fine, too. There's nothing particularly good or bad about it.

Columbia Presbyterian is a very nice place. My mom is in a semi-private room. It had a little more privacy and had a little more space. It was also nice. I had problems with some of her clothes going missing there, but I like the place. Most of the staff is very good. I ran into one or two people there that I really liked. They have activities, but my mother was not really in a position to participate. I like the environment. It's very clean, pleasant and a fairly healthy attitude. But it was also a little bit out of my budget.

I would have dropped in to see the facility and its residents unannounced before letting my mother stay there. For instance, some residents, my mother included, were left to sit in their waste for full shifts. We had many issues and problems.
