I am a resident of LMC Extended Care. I think they're minimal, and could be better; but overall, I think they're okay. We don't have visitors, we don't have anything like that, to touch your family or anything. It is disheartening. They take good care of us. The food is okay. Overall, I'm pleased. There's a variety of menus. Breakfast in the morning, I get up at fried egg and grits, raisin toast, and coffee. It was great, I eat everything. It's very clean and well maintained. We have outdoor spaces that are there for us to get outside; they're very pleasing, very calming, and very restful. We have a little waterfall and things where it's just bubbling up; it is calming and quiet.

This place is an absolute nightmare. Don’t take your relatives here. Don’t take your worst enemy here. Wrong and potentially very damaging medications given. Resident ignored with a very high fever, VERY low oxygen levels and out of control UTI that led to sepsis. I repeat DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. IT IS DANGEROUS.

The reviews that speak of the food are accurate. They need to completely revamp their menus and how they cook the food. The reviews about the nurses being rude or completely off base. I'm not down one nurse who's been rude. Some of the rules are hard to take because you're used to being independent but for the situation it's not bad. The facility is beautiful you kept very clean. The score I left is totally due to the food situation.

Worst facility I've ever been in! From the outside, it looks really nice but once you're inside the nightmare begins. I entered the facility from Lexington Medical Center where I had been with Covid. But nothing prepared me for what I was too encounter here! The food is the worst. "Hot" food is refrigerator cold and "cold" food like milk is room temperature! My 9 year old granddaughter could do better blindfolded! Housekeeping has a lot to be desired, no attention to bedding etc. They do very little in the way of rehab. I was proactive and got up and exercised myself! Their idea is just put you in a bed and leave you. I talked with one of the supervisors and explained the problems. She was to get back to me, but didn't. I heard that others were getting sick from the food. No wonder!! I had a meal dropped off and at one hour I called the facility from my room. The explanation was they had it sitting there!! This place has too many problems that I heard have not been addressed and until things change, I can not and will not recommend this facility! I think a number of heads should roll and that an inspection of this facility happen immediately, unannounced! It's sad that a facility in my community can be so deceiving and when you say anything it seems to call on deaf ears. This is the reason I'm writing this review. Hopefully positive changes will be made.

LMC Extended Care have rehab and assisted living. They took me on a tour and it was really nice. Overall, they need to work on their food but everything else is really nice. The surroundings are beautiful, it's very outdoorsy and relaxing. They have a beautiful menu, the menu only says beautiful things but that's not what it reflects. I would suggest that they get someone who knows how to cook. I would also suggest that they have a more cohesive staffing unit. Like the people would have a 1-pointer where no one would feel left out.

Critcal staffing shortages! Contemptous upper management. Their only bragging point is being the largest home in three states. Part of the local hospital system and yet they are reluctant to send residents there needing hospital care UNTIL the person is critically ill. Lot's of common, maintenace care issues(bed sores, utis) Local state agencies are reluctant to inspect much less fine them. "Too big to fail/touch" hands-off/kid glove approach by regulators. Once there, hard to impossible to transfer. Advice: Don't be dazzled by their appearance and some internet ratings. Spend some time there during non peak visiting hours. You'll be much better off Choosing a smaller home tjat might not seem so modern.

I definitely would never recommend Lexington Medical Extended Care. It was terrible. My mother almost died in there. She almost aspirated twice in that place. She was on a feeding tube and they had given up on her. They didn't even give her much rehab. I took her home under a hospice from there and she was under hospice only about two weeks. That's how quickly she improved; she is now no longer on the feeding tube or anything. She was at Lexington for eight months. You will hear people crying out, especially at night, in pain, and the nurses don't do anything to help. I ate there, and I guess the food was all right. Some of the staff was OK, some were not. I think they only gave her PT twice a week and then OT and a speech therapist, which was useless too. The first room she was in had a nice flat screen TV and everything, but as I found out later, the other rooms didn't have that. It was on their special, the rehab rooms. Those were like for show and were the ones where people come and go more, and those were the ones that they show off.

I was very impressed with the fact that they have some modern tools to use with the residents. While I was there they were doing Exercises that everyone could do.

At the onset of her stay, I found that staff to be attentive and very caring towards my grandmother. While that caring part remained true for the remainder of her stay, attentiveness was lost. The staff while very comforting and clearly knowledgable about the care given, management was not. They were understaffed any day of the week unless DSS was in for an inspection. On those days they were staffed to the hilt. On the other days my grandmother would have to use the restroom in her adult diaper as they could not assist her to the restroom and I was told that she will just have to deal with it. When you are 89, waiting to use the restroom after you have been given meds to make you go, is the last mortifying thing you want to hear. Much less the end result of waiting. As to the actual facility itself, it was clean for the most part and for those residents who did not require hands on care, they seems very happy. In the end, if you are capable of taking care of yourself, then this facility is great. If you require actual assistance, look for another place to hang you hat.

My Grandmother was housed there last year for three months. I can say that medically she was well cared for there. My family and I came at all different hours so that we would not establish a pattern and would know if she was being mistreated. We never saw any indication of mistreatment but the staff did seem to look down on our practice. Regardless of their attitudes it was clean and she was physically taken care of very well.
