This is the BEST facility!! The staff took the best care of my grandfather and their attentiveness towards their residents never went unnoticed! I would recommend this facility to anyone as they treat each resident as if they were their own family! The rooms were great and the food was even better. Anyone would be fortunate to get to stay here!

I toured Dayspring of Johns Island. The place is super small. I think they only have like 15 rooms, and there wasn't a whole lot going on. Most of the people were laying around sleeping. The place needs updating. The lighting was horrible. It's dreary and not very vibrant. I met the owner, and he was very knowledgeable and nice. In terms of the facility, they have a little screened-in porch with chairs, nothing extraordinary, but the whole building needs to be clean. They need to pressure wash, and they need to clean the windows. The windows are all dirty on the outside. It's beautiful scenery. It's got all these beautiful oak trees and everything, but the place needs to be painted, and it needs some upkeep.

My father was a resident at Daysprings for the last few years of his life. It is owned and staffed by the most genuine and loving people. He was receiving hospice care when he arrived, but because of the wonderful care he received was released from hospice care. I live almost 300 miles away and visited him every month. I was so warmly greeted every time and amazed at how much progress he had made. He was genuinely happy around these folks who treated him like family. They celebrated milestones and occasions with each resident making them feel so special. He loved the meals and the ones preparing them. Daddy enjoyed the various church groups that came and visited. I know without a doubt that he lived two months shy of his 101st birthday because of Daysprings! His last days were spent in a hospital and the Dayspring owners and staff all visited him. The owners were as greatly affected by his loss as we were. I just can’t say enough wonderful things about Daysprings except that I am so very grateful to them and for them and the care they provided. I would recommend Dayspring to ANYONE that is trying to find the “perfect” place for their loved one!

My daddy spent the last 3 years of his life with this amazing family...Yassi, Graeme, their 2 daughters and the most giving and caring staff!! He joined them on Hospice and GRADUATED from Hospice in less than 6 months of being cared and loved by these folks. The owners and staff do not just work there, they are completely involved in all aspects of daily living including all nighters when necessary. They are individuals who are so dedicated to being serious and sincere advocates for their family members (residents). The food prepared for each resident is tailored to their individual needs and is delicious! All holidays and especially birthdays are celebrated making each resident feel as special as they are. Several outings included going to hockey games for those who could enjoy the event. My sister and I could not have hand picked a more loving and caring place !!

My mother-in-law has been in Dayspring for 5 yrs. The staff treats her like there own grandmother, they take care of her needs and see that see gets meals that she enjoys. The reason we decided on Dayspring was because of the owners, they are a hands on couple who are there on a daily bases. I feel as though they have given me the ability to enjoy my mother instead of being her care taker.

I went to Dayspring of Johns Island. It was overall fine. The staff was very nice and the rooms were OK, but I find it to be not the cleanest. It was more like a house, which is kind of cool, and with a bunch of bedrooms. They had some kind of an open floor plan, like you walk in and there were people just sitting in the family room area, then there's a dining space to the right, to the left were some chairs, and I guess that's where they do some of their activities. I didn't see any activity going on, and there were very few people there. There was one person in a wheelchair that was completely unable, and then a couple that I saw sitting, and there was one guy getting oxygen. I basically walked away like, I'm not ready to do this.
