We found Sunflower Springs at Indian Land for my mother-in-law, but now she is in hospice. But the staff at Sunflower Springs at Indian Land was very nice and helpful. The other residents were very friendly and welcoming to her, and my mother-in-law seemed to enjoy the food. The staff members were always very friendly and helpful, but sometimes a little slow to respond when we tried to call and leave a message for them. My mother-in-law's room is nicely sized. It is a studio room, so it's on the smaller side but it's well-appointed. Every time we're there, the building is always nice and clean. And they had some activities that she participated in and she enjoyed them. They have outings for shopping trips and they also have bingo.

Sunflower Springs at Indian Land was very, very nice, very pretty, very comfortable, not flashy or old or anything, it's kind of new. The decor and the facility were very nice. I was not happy with their care though. A lot of times I would come in and mom had been in her dirty diaper all night. I didn't have too much good to say about her care. They had those little buttons to call people. She had a hard time pushing the button. They couldn't figure out what else to do about that. They said they could handle her when they did their assessment before she went there, but I don't think they could. Honestly, I think they just said that so they could get the money. There were a couple of the staff that were good, but most of them were not. She usually got her meals late because she didn't go to the dining room. She was not able to walk, which is another thing that they said they could handle, so she could get her meals in her room, but they were usually late and they were usually cold. The facility was real nice. The value is probably pretty good because it was the lowest cost but I think she needed more care. The staff, not only were not trained well, but there was not enough staff. They need to improve on training their staff.
