My sister was transferred to Pruitt from Providence Hospital for rehab treatment to be able to walk. She was recovering from Covid 19 which left her too weak to walk. She was neglected physically and mentally during her entire stay. She was forced to lie in bed needing to be changed for half days at a time! She would call for a nurse/aide to assist her but usually no one came. She would then call me, her sister, who resided 70 plus miles away to please call the nurses' station to send her help. She had a MITRL Heart Valve which required certain medications which she never received. Her rehab consisted of only 2 treatments, to-wit: swinging her legs off side of bed and sitting in a chair. Needless to say, my dear sister died after only 2 and a half weeks at this facility!! NEGLECT NEGLECT NEGLECT

My father is at PruittHealth - Columbia for long-term care. It's a very old building. The skilled nursing facility is in the basement, and it's very depressing and very old. The ceiling tiles have asbestos in them. The dining area is clean. They have a beauty shop, a barber shop, a podiatrist comes in, and they have a psychiatrist if needed. It's a clean building. The staff is very observant to the patients' needs, and they seem very nice. Everything is fine on the upper floors.

Old facility. Not clean. Few patient activities, they sit around doing nothing getting very little attention from stressed out overworked nurses. Administration not easily found and does not care. Food bad usually served cool to cold.

I have had experience with Pruitt of Bamberg,SC. (mother) The Facility was clean, some of the staff were good, one to be exact. The night shift would give her Adavan and knock her out so they did not have to tend to her through the night. She could walk some with a walker before going. They took the walker from her and said it was too dangerous. Very expensive for overall bad care. almost $7000.00 per month. I called the regional manager to let him know of my experience, all he cared about was how I obtained his phone number. Corporate all the way! could care less about the patient.

My dad stayed in Pruitt Health for three months. It was not a good experience. My dad had upper stomach pains, and they said he had pneumonia. He was not treated, so I called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. It also took them a long time to change him. Their communication system is terrible. The nurses were nice and sweet, but the administration was terrible.

Beautiful facilities and friendly staff. Horrible meals. Sometimes took over an hour to get assistance for mother to go to bathroom. Mother fell several times and severely injured once. Would not recommend this place if you want close care for your loved ones. The therapy dept. was excellent, though.

Unihealth is a beautiful place, but I wasn’t too happy with it. It is very clean. The staff is very nice but with no experience. They are new. They need consistency and a checklist for each resident that is there. I felt like I had to be there all the time or the right things weren’t done for my mother. She has been there for three months and it was exhausting. They have recreation like movies, arts and crafts, and socials.

This facility has been owned by several different people over the years and among healthcare providers in town is typically known as one of the worst in town. It used to be called "Central Carolina Health and Rehab," before it was purchased by Unihealth a few years back. Since then, it has moved forward in leaps and bounds in terms of remodeling the facility (the building itself is MUCH nicer than it used to be; cleaner, new hardwood floors, beds, etc) and in staff - the staff used to seem very uncaring/uneducated. This is no longer the case, as Unihealth seems to be fairly selective about who they hire and retain, which is a good thing. The only thing that keeps me from rating it higher is that it still seems to have that "inner city low income" nursing home feel, as terrible as that sounds. The building is very old, and although it has been remodeled very well, it still has that "old building" smell permeating everything inside, and some of the rooms are small and over-crowded. The staff, however, seems to do the best they can with what they have.
