I visited The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk RI Assisted Living Residence. I chose it for myself and my wife because it's closer to where I live. Also, I know people who have gone there. It's a beautiful place. The entire place is beautiful. It's clean and has no old person smell. The food is good. They have a gym and a library, but I haven't visited all the areas yet. The staff has been excellent. The building itself is spectacular, and it is organized.

The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk RI Assisted Living Residence wasn't as new as the other place. The dining area was very nice. They showed us empty rooms and it's hard to figure out how you're going to put furniture in it. Everybody was very nice. The staff was pleasant. I just found out that everybody was so old. I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't feel like I belonged there. They gave us menus to look at, to take home if we wanted, which we did, and everything looked good. They have tours and all kinds of things to do in different places.

Beautiful facilities with a lot to offer, however look under the surface. Either the staff is over-worked or they just dont care. I can call and remind them that my aunt needs a doctor's appointment, and they'll suggest to me that I make it and take her (i live in another state). Followup is negligible, you feel that they're doing you a big favor by caring for their residents.

I toured Tamarisk with a group, and we ate at a private dining room, and it was pleasant. They have good activities: movies, television, recreation, and trips. The staff was very pleasant towards the visitors and, I assume, towards the residents. They have a porch in the rooms so you have a little private outdoor space. The dining area is a very pleasant, nice, big, bright room. It’s got more buildings I think than some of the others, and about 80 residents there, but the location is close to my Synagogue

This is a nice looking facility, but I would caution you to look beneath the surface. My mother was a resident on the memory unit. At first the staffing was very good and stable. After a change in senior staffing, everything changed. Aides starting leaving and care deteriorated. I pulled my mother out of the facility. The staff is the most important part of any facility.

Tamarisk Assisted Living was a beautiful location. Very quiet, and clean, just how my father likes it. The staff was very professional and friendly; were there for everyone one of my fathers needs without making it feel as if he was in a hospital. They allowed our family to visited the facility for the a whole day. Although my father enjoyed it very much, it is a primarily Hebrew. They have Kosher meals, they practice in the religion, and I believe all of the residents are Hebrew. This would had been my number one choice for my father if he was Hebrew.
