My mother was at Sunrise of Lower Makefield and we liked the friendliness and cleanliness of the place the most. They were competent and caring. They actually got my mom to start walking. Mom also said the food was good. They have a lot of activities and it was easy to get to the amenities as each floor had a social area.

My father will be in the memory care unit at Sunrise of Lower Makefield. We went through several care facilities, and we picked the facility that we liked the best. So out of about eight different facilities, this one was the one that checked all the boxes. It was clean. We liked the staff. The residents appeared to be happy and healthy. So those were the positives. And then the only negative is the same negative with every facility, the cost is very high. The staff all looked very pleasant and helpful. The building was in very good condition. It didn't smell. It was clean and well-kept. It didn't feel like a care facility. The entrance into the facility is into independent living and assisted living, so it felt more like a hotel than a care facility.

I had a tour of Sunrise of Lower Makefield. It was very nice. If I had to move my daughter anywhere, I would probably move her there. I like the fact that it seemed to be well-run. The patients that were there seemed happy. They seemed to know everybody's name. Everything was clean and neat. They had a gym. They had just about everything, and the only reason I didn't choose it was because at the time I was looking to be able to put my daughter in a Medicaid thing. I was introduced to a number of staff, and they all seemed very dedicated and very professional.

I went to the Sunrise of Lower Makefield. That facility is even closer to my house, so it's only 10 minutes. I'd love that. It would be very close to where I live. Very convenient, and easy to get to. The facility was absolutely beautiful. I love the area, it's always surrounded by a nice little country-type area. Just very beautiful scenery. The rooms are extremely beautiful, and very well set up. There's no doubt that it's a very spacious room. You can feel like you're not in a teeny, tiny little room, but almost like a little apartment. So it's very nice. They have a variety of activities and events planned for the residents. The different rooms are beautiful where they could do different activities. It was a nice piece of size facility, so they could offer quite a bit.

Sunrise of Lower Makefield is very, very clean. I did not smell any type of urine. Tom was the one who toured me around and he was excellent. I told him that the place almost had a cruise ship vibe. The furniture was not as new, but it was clean and not damaged. The units were great, spacious, and also very clean. Dining area was very nice and very organized. It's a very structured and nice facility, but the pricing was more than what we could afford.

We have chosen Sunrise of Lower Makefield for my mother. It's amazing. It's fantastic. My mother's apartment is perfect and it's comfortable. It's hard right now because of Covid, but I'm sure they have activities. My mom is in the memory care unit. The security is very good and it's very safe. She can't go out, but there is a nice courtyard that she can go to. I haven't been inside there because of Covid, so I don't know what else they have. She loves the food, and she has gained 9 pounds since she has gone there.

Sunrise of Lower Makefield is the only place that accepted my aunt with the care that she needs. My aunt has moved in a month ago. They're willing to work with her. I haven't had any complaints. My aunt is really difficult, but with them, whatever is going on, they keep in touch with me. The place is small. Nevertheless, they give you your privacy, but if you need them, they're there, so that's a good thing. My aunt has the biggest room they have and she seems to like it. It looks like an apartment. I had their food, which was not the greatest. They do outings, arts and crafts, and games. My aunt is a difficult woman, so she doesn't like anything pretty much. However, what I have seen in the activity schedule looks good. It is just the fact that she is not into activities.

The staff could not be better. They are pleasant and will help with anything they can. They are the secret to Sunrise. The rooms are clean, pleasant and large.

Sunrise of Lower Makefield was OK, just a little big and the cost is a little too high. Several parts of the building weren't being used and that was disturbing to me. It didn't look like it was under construction; it looked like they closed the nursing station in one area and they no longer utilize it. There was too much space, and I was looking for something smaller and more personal. The rooms didn't really stand out to me. They seem to have had activities and things for the residents to do. The memory care is separate from assisted living. They didn't offer a meal but showed us a menu.

Because of the location, we thought my mother would fit in best at Sunrise of Lower Makefield. It had a very homey feeling. My wife felt that the rooms were a little bit on the small size but adequate. The common areas were excellent though. The food looked great. The calendar of activities was full with plenty of activities to do every day. Everything looked great. Actually in the memory care area, the residents were secured, so they can't wander a lot. There was an outdoor area that they could go to and sit outside; it looked like you were in a garden. You couldn't even tell that there was a fence around the place so you can't go wandering off the property.

It was a good visit for us at Sunrise of Lower Makefield. It was a newer place. It was much brighter and more modern. The director was very nice and very knowledgeable. She shared some information with us. My dad is a veteran and she shared with us some government benefits that may be available to my mom because of my dad. She was great. The memory care unit was separate from the general population. She told us that they have different activities, but I never saw a schedule or a calendar with things going on.

We're happy with Sunrise of Lower Makefield. My mom's room is spacious and clean. The food is excellent and probably the best thing about it. The staff is very friendly and caring. They have bingo, arts and crafts, and my mom likes when kids come in from the local school for singalongs with the residents.

We loved Sunrise of Lower Makefield, and it's definitely one of the places we would consider when the time comes. I liked the people, the facility, and the different apartments. It had a very neighborhood type of feel inside the facility, and it was very well-designed. They had a lot of group activities and would take the residents outside of the community, which was great. Their dining room facility was lovely. They did different theme days and had a lot of activities that were appropriate for someone living there.

The staff at Sunrise of Lower Makefield is very good. The food isn't too bad. It's more like a nursing home. The staff works together as a team.

I have mixed reviews about them. I went to visit my mother earlier this year on a weekend. I found my mother sitting up in a w/c. She was very pale & in obvious discomfort. She told me she had pushed the call bell numerous times over the past half hour & nobody answered. She told me she had pushed the call bell numerous times over the past half hour & nobody answered. She said she was in pain & has had diarrhea & had been sitting in it since then. I went to the Wellness Station & heard at least 3 female voices in a room beyond the anteroom talking & laughing. I called out to them at least 3 times before someone came & asked what I wanted. I told them that my mother had been calling for a half hour to get cleaned up & back to bed. We made her comfortable & the aide, Shakira, left when the room had been straightened up. When we were alone again, my mother related something to me that had happened before breakfast that morning. She had been asleep & was awakened by her CNA yelling at her, “WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR BREAKFAST?” My mother told me she was startled awake & told the aide not to speak to her like that. My mother said another aide came in & asked her why she was yelling at the other CNA like that. My mother was upset & was begging for me to take her out of there. My sister told me that she had a care conference scheduled for the next day & that she also had issues to address at that time.. The next day, my brother called & I was told by him that he got a call from this facility that I was interfering with my mother's care. I am a healthcare professional & all of these things are very disappointing to me since I have always had a high opinion of Sunrise & have referred many of my residents to your facilities in the past when their sub-acute stays were finished. My mother & father were on hospice & their last days were peaceful. The staff accommodated our large family & treated us well. My parents both passed with dignity & their care needs met. If it wasn't for the 1 bad experience, this would have been an all positive review,.

I visited Sunrise of Lower Makefield. The young lady gave us a nice tour. The rooms were nice. They were actually making pizza for the residents while we walked through, so that's a nice thing. The facility was big and open, and there were lots of places where you can be by yourself, or if you want to sit with other people. The dining area was nice. They had a private dining room, which I think is nice if you want a family event there. The young lady was courteous. She answered all of our questions and was factual. Most of the staff did say hi as we walked by, as did a lot of the residents. This facility would probably be considered for my mother; however, it most likely would cost a little more than a few of the other places. However, it is not necessarily all about the price. The facility was clean, new, and well-kept.

I did not eat at Sunrise, but the dining room seemed nice and spacious. I don’t think I saw any activity there. I saw the rooms, but I just didn't see anything at the time. I think their outdoor sitting areas and dining areas could use some expansion.

My parents are at Sunrise of Lower Makefield. It’s has a Victorian-type of look about it. It's homey, and you don’t feel like you are in a hospital. It's also like walking into a nice hotel. Their care is doing really well. All the staff is helpful and willing to do whatever you need them to do. They arrive promptly when my parents call for them and they are very patient. Mom and dad are 93 years old, so they just stay in their room most of the time, but I am seeing activities going on for the residents like playing bingo, baking club, and they also have a social everyday downstairs. They also have some kind of snacks given to the residents, and sometimes also they would have karaoke social. They also have outings if they want to.

Mom already had given a down payment for Sunrise at Lower Makefield and is now on their waiting list. The facility feels very homey, and so far, from what we've seen, it seems to do a pretty good job. They were able to answer all the questions that we asked. We really didn't focus much on the activities because my mom can't really see well.

Sunrise was spectacular. It was a gorgeous building sitting on a lot with maybe 6 trees. If you take a walk around Sunrise, you are exposed totally, and knowing that older people can only tolerate so much heat, that was a factor. As nice as the physical building was at Sunrise, I didn't get the feeling of personal care. It was like a tour for a house museum. We visited the dining room, beautiful. I didn't think the rooms were very large or airy. The facilities are out of this world, architecturally. We ruled them out because it was going to cost my mother-in-law $3,000 a month more. Their furnishings in the hallways were just gorgeous, and that's what you pay for. The vase in the hall isn't taking care of our mom; a person is. The people we've talked to said the food was wonderful. We looked at some menus. It looked very nice. We went in and walked around the dining room, and not one dining room staff said hello to us.

Sunrise seemed very nice. It had a very nice atmosphere when you walked in. It was very homey. I liked the idea that they had jukebox in one common area. I visited their memory care unit and it was very nice.

I had looked at Sunrise. The facility was very nice. Everything was clean and neat. The accommodation and staff seemed very nice. They were friendly and courteous. Everyone was very pleasant. Their rooms were also very nice. However, they did not have a secured memory care area and I don't think they had the specific care that my mother needed. If someone needed a home and had no Alzheimer's I would recommend Sunrise.

I learned about Sunrise from a volunteer there so I visited the place. Two ladies came and interviewed my husband to figure out his level of care and I thought that was very helpful. It's a beautiful place and only five years old. The dementia unit is separate from the assisted living area. The staff is extremely helpful and loving. My husband has a private room, I have dinner with him every night in the dining room, and we spend our evening together. They encouraged that. It's a loving and caring place and I'm very pleased with it.

Sunrise is a very clean and nice place. They are just too expensive for us; otherwise, I would love to put my father in this place.
